I'm looking at a E87 and have been told not to go the N46 or N43 4cyl and that the 3ltr 6 is the way to go but I'm wondering if there's any problems inherently with the f20 n13b16 motor which seems to be basically a Peugeot prince motor I see they are fitted to the mini cooper as well as the f20

they said on the news they're looking at it rounding out at about 67cents and john key was very happy with that.So be in quick its all about to get worse

pretty scary when hackers can get into the sim card tho. the more high tech they go they easier they are to steal All that online assist stuff scares the crap out of me
-
mine does it exactly at 100ks and if you hold that speed it feels like youve got a flat tyre, vibrates right thru all the seats and passengers think wheel nuts have come off but if the road surface changes to rough chip it stops instantly so I put it down to cheap Chinese tyres Luckly we have very few sections of smooth tarseal here or I would have to do something about it but I just alter speed when it happens now. Interestingly a roundabout off smooth tarseal makes a noise like a wheel bearing has collapsed, again rough chip is silent Guess you get what you pay for in tyres, would be annoying on an Auckland motorway although 110- 115 is fine So there are ways around it.

To be fair the bones came from the same carcassess as you were buying and killed and cut in the same butchery.Boiled up because of there probably tough ness and to get the meat to fall off the bone they were probably fine to add to a soup /broth base. Who hasn't bought old bacon hocks for a big pot of veggie soup or chucked in a whole finished roast chicken carcase, Do you not remember your grandparents having pots of and plates of everything in the fridge, nothing was ever wasted or thrown out, food was precious I guess it goes back to war time and poverty and lack of supplies. I kinda feel sorry for some of the young who live there spoilt little lives and waste so much, and are so fussy. Bring on the apocalypse and it will be the hunting kill and cook anything types that will survive. MMMmm woodpidgeon is delicious Draw the line at dog roll though, unless the zombies had taken over the earth, and standing in line at KFC, really whose the idiot, you lined up for that ? seriously!

With a warrant and wof that would get 1200+ and sell in 24hrs here in Hawkes bay Thats better profit than a pokies win. Pays for a weekend away at a test match or something
-
I have a cracked wheel and need a replacement,Im not expecting a match being a jap import
-
if your trading keep the chip and sell it separately ,they won't know or probably care

Thanks Just trying to get my head around the whole issue,Damn these new cars,Was keen to see what others do,Sounds like your in the lap of the luck gods really, Has the potential to be quite awkward and expensive and I guess designed around overseas conditions.smooth flat roads, lots of towns and millions of 24hr tyre shops Do BMW at least include a jack and wheelbrace Reading overseas forums it looks like they can get tyre replacement insurance like we do glass here, that would make sense. Nobody from a tyre shop with a viewpoint?
-
and the cost was a new tyre? not a free repair at tonys tyres, I was told possibly incorrectly you can't fix a run flat especially if its been driven while flat
-
Don't see how knowing helps if theres no shop within miles and they're shut for say easter,Im sure when you hit a big pothole south of taihape late on a sunday night and monday is a holiday things are quite that simple. Fine if you live in Auckland with 24hr service and plenty of shops to source a replacement. Ive wrecked 2 tyres in last 2 years both not my fault and glad i Had a jack and a spare.

After looking into buying 1 series it seems they all come with run flats. Is this a jap import only thing and is it only the one series. I just don't like the thought of being stranded on a long weekend somewhere because theres no tyre shop open and then they don't have the right size apart from the sheer cost of having to replace rather than repair. I guess you could always buy a spacesaver to keep in the back but who wants that sitting in your boot all the time. What does everyone with newer cars do now.

Best Way to Remove Stain/ Smell From Fabric Car Seat
kwhelan replied to vtgts300kw's topic in Appearance
baking soda and water,if you've ever had kids spew while your in holiday ,mix a couple teaspoons in a bowl and soak ,dab really well, instant neutralisation and you can continue the trip without everyone else in the car feeling sick -
One Series things to look for when purchasing
kwhelan replied to kwhelan's topic in TradeMe discussions
Yes agreed Charles Fuel wouldn't be enough to cover the losses involved in changing cars, depreciation, common faults /improvements you have already fixed on your own car and even just a tow bar. Mines lowered with large 19s and Im getting bit old to be crawling over every speed bump and gutter but Im so used to leather and creature comforts maybe I should be looking at E60 or even E90 sixes BTW I heard those VW/AUDI DSG are $5000 grenades -

Thanks for the replys looks like the 4cyl haven't improved since I was looking at the e39 series then so thats made up my mind,Do like the sound of 130i but yet to find one to test. Drove a one owner low kms 120 diesel today and was really impressed, that low take off idle rattle takes a bit to get used too but once moving you don't hear it. Sadly unimpressed with the cheap plastic interior no better than wifes VW ,plastic seems to have some sort of cover that scratches off like a wax and looks terrible. Roof lining etc is just cheap fugly. BTW can you turn off that auto door locking thing when you drive off, what a pain in A$$ -
Looking for a one series and noticed a lot of the imports have had rotors and pads replaced at very early mileages. This seems odd or are they a known weak point. I currently own a m54 e39 so aware of the radiator /water pump /fuel pump/vanos things but are there any known weakness specific to the one series. Still tossing up between the 130 or 120 and know nothing of the 4 cylinder engines apart from the advice from ex bmw mechanic who sold me the e39 that talked me out of the 4 cyl at the time and seemed to know what he was talking about. Early impressions of test drives of 120 seems noisy and works hard compared to the effortless smooth quiet of my 525 but i guess thats the price of going downwards and guess you learn to live with it.Can't be any worse than an Audi or other 4 cyl alternative. Autos have More gears, may save fuel but seem to be quite annoying in reality. For 99% of my daily running the e39 525 is ridiculously thirsty but although unscientific the fuel ratings for the 130 are listed as same or better than the 120 Anyone care to enlighten me with advice

without trying to stereotype ,sheer volume in the target areas for joyriders,go to a particular neighbourhood your going to find a lot of $hitbox vans/ people movers that were probably left unlocked and start with a spoon anyway, lots of people walking about the streets late at night they not anyones pride and joy lets say but an easy find/take to do a ram raid or burg
-
Don't shoot me but Im seriously considering one of these but probably the 2.5 model 4 door Skylines were always a good car and motor and theres some real low mileage bargains around http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/nissan/auction-718868573.htm

Im in same boat as you trying to downsize an e39 525 touring, test drove a 120 2007 and hated it,4 cyl just seemed pathetic hunting thru 6 speed auto box continuously and the inside was real cheap plastic looking everywhere, had a cheek to have a bmw badge i reckon. Was the same price as a brand new lancer with 5 year warranty and every option you could think of. I know you can get bigger engines but the interior was just drab cheap looking plastic. the 120i was rated 3.5 stars fuel which is same as my 2.5 e39 and pretty high I reckon considering

Just about guarantee its the rocker cover, mine is doing the same, have replaced and glued it but its just started again, my threads are buggered,
-
theres a short 40ks between rotovegas and tirau which is quite a nice open sweeping road, not a twisty point and shoot like the rimatukas but still one of the nicer runs around and in good nick so not bottoming out in a lowered car at speed ,passing is easy and maybe from rotor thru to tauranga from that same side of the lake not the tepuke way few one way bridges, and if your from out of the area the napier/ taupo can be fun especially after 5pm when the cops and speed cams go home,
-
just replace the battery they're extremely cheap especially on ebay, and hold on Iphone 6 is due out mid year so hold off buying as all old models will reduce at that time and 2nd hand people will all be upgrading so its a buyers market also the 5 was an experiment that failed, they won't admit it but it was too thin and light/weak and had multitudes of warranty problems, cost them millions in replacements hence the 5s has gone back to the old 4 heavy duty body he 5c is an unknown long term i think with wives and partners stick to what they know and avoid unnecessary changes in technologies like swopping to android or vice versa, less stress for everybody
