E30 Race Car - Jim Richard's JPS M3 Tribute.
kwhelan replied to E30 325i Rag-Top's topic in Projects
don't know how you do it, put so much effort and love into a project which some idiot could sideswipe on the first lap, watching races you kind of think these things are just expendable playtoys and for some I guess they are but after all that work I'd be too scared of bending it -
pick up the basics from reading manuals, and then apply them calmly, routinely, in a high stress "assumed first and only time situation" are two different things, but yes ,not to be discussed in public so ending it now agree with you on the rogue aspect, plenty of very young angry school shooters in USA and that culture is what is aspired/copied here so its only a matter of time I guess and who doesn't know how to get into their dads gun cabinet. The job prospects of the future and the destructive nature of our race baiting press, are going to make a lot of disenfranchised youth for sure but I still don't think you can legislate the problem away or it was justified at the time. Agree entirely with posts above it just needs an independent body that sole job is to control that, not the police who move funds around as needed and have become political assets to be abused by gvnmts

self taught? you don't get those disciplined habits as easily seen in the video footage playing call of duty, he was well trained in combat More generally, this highlights an issue with any legal licensing system, those who would pass whatever checks and don't have a history of violence etc will tend to be granted licenses. not sure thats correct in this case, the history checks and sponsor checks just weren't done but yes the type of weapon is irrelevant. Most terrorism in UK is now done in trucks not with assault weapons. can't ban trucks

wow pretty impressive obviously driven track before, didn't see a single mistake,
-
think the point went straight over your head the existing gun laws, if followed correctly by police would have stopped him obtaining those weapons it was human error not a law issue
-
I thought singapore was beautifully green, every drab bit of concrete , even motorway overpasses had flower gardens etc, bloody impressive and so clean

I get your point but 5m masks means nothing really, if its even believable re the flu vaccines and PPE debarcle etc. it won't stop a virus, the jury is still out on even their effectiveness, 1 hour tops for disposable then they need to be basically incinerated to be safe and thats n95 grade only not converted socks like on 7 sharp last night, roadblocks are just reactionary, necessary granted but hardly planned for, possibly even illegal under current leg. mobile testing, can't see how that helps TBH queues of people getting tested with no symptoms, no contact with anyone dangerous, just wasting everyones time resthomes great, well done if its done correctly otherwise as useless as not testing customs staff, bus drivers, air hostesses etc have they set up special wards to enable hospitals to carry on with their elective surgeries etc , treating the covid at same time, without tossing nearly everyone else out to keep beds clear. got more respirators in for the inevitiable, those sorts of things We have the advantage of hindsight and other countries experience now as we have delayed our outcomes so far. just hope we have learnt and prepared, not convinced entirely tho

world wars will be over fresh water supplies in the not too distant future

chinas economy is extremely fragile, they are terrified, they are under far more stress internally than countries like USA, things can go very pear shaped very fast for china and they know that.its happened before, they have a lot of mouths to feed. its all an act

so what has been done icu wise to prepare for the inevitable relapses or outbreaks, have they set up emergency preparations , ppe gear, done any work on isolating rest homes properly if it became needed, set up teams of people ready and trained in what to do because it looks like nothing has changed since the first day we went in to lockdown. hospitals went back to normal business and we don't appear any more ready than we were the first time with all the knowledge learnt from other countries experiences what have we done to prepare for this time
-
bit harsh.humans are humans barely evolved from other animals in reality, its got nothing to do with where your from or your race or religion, theres good and bad in everyone and we can all have proud and shameful secrets
-
a good conspiracy I heard today is that the current outbreak is pretty much overhyped /managed so that on friday they can say their team who have trained for this emergency have stepped in and saved us all from another lockdown with their procedures. The Rugby can go ahead on Saturday and everyone will rejoice and thank Jacinda for saving us again no policies needed, election in the bag hopefully thats what pans out, I was looking forward to the game

its the claim of being the most open and transparent gvnmt and "not going to lie' and "we're the source of all truth' re covid that gets me. there are some serious questions over the timelines of this and who knew what when. not that any of that matters we just need to get it done now,/rant there are some amazingly good studies now on 3 common cheap drugs that are proven to work, except facebook and youtube takedowns control the narrative.but you will be tarred and feathered if you mention them. Guess theres no money in it for them so shut it down quick

to be fair it's not their fault, it was always going to happen regardless of who was in power and did what ever, as soon as you open any border it was only a matter of time, you could test every single person, every airline staff shipcrew and hotel worker, it would still get out, nature has a way and nothing stops it people were living under a false hope, it was inevitable , blame is a waste of time
-
or cynically, a last gasp attempt at stockholm syndrome to get them thru as there latest internal polls weren't so good judging by the comments flying on SM i don't think the team of 5 mill is too happy this time
-
your arguing for the sake of it, its nothing like wearing a mask, where does it stop, bit like saying you can't own a v8 because every trip can be done in a safe economic green 4 cyl. you can't tint your windows cause its intimidating and gangsta, hell ford rangers are intimidating to other road users, this aint a communist state... yet

yeah the dealer said the 418d was lower specced and most ended up as rentals, about 20k less when new he said, still had HUD and all the lane camera stuff though, missing things little things like lumbar support?

looking for something with a bit of boot space, have had a e39 wagon but don't need to go that big so looking at a2017 ish 4 series 5door. Seems to tick all the boxes and drove a 4i8d yesterday which was nice, bit slow and steering was horribly light for what BMW are supposed to be but otherwise was a nice car. boot took 2m length of wood easily with seats down which is impressive. Would like to try a bigger petrol version. They seem well equiped for the money and are well under half retail with 2-3 yrs left of factory warranty. Anything to look out for on these Also after looking at competing cars theres the kia stinger and the A5 or S5 but Why are Audis worth so much more second hand, for everything you look at on trademe a bmw is always way higher specced and cheaper than an audi, is it just sheer numbers for sale?

serves you right for reading that left wing drivel, RIP haha you know you can setup adblockers and cookie/private browsing though, don't use chrome would be step one

there's no way I'd have alexa or a google home speaker but theres plenty that do, Just the other day Siri Piped up in the morning and asked me if I wanted to turn on my aircon. I thought I had disabled everything siri on my phone including location but apparently not. Worse thou just for giggles I said yes turn it on and it bloody did, considering how I have never set anything up on siri or the aircon giving anything like those permissions i was pretty surprised it worked. I love the ability to manually have control but this Ai crap is scarry. I don't want to know the traffic conditions to my work when I have never told it where I work dammit.

pretty hard to beat there wifi units quality for price thats for sure. I would consider something that was maybe homesmart now or in future because thats where everything is heading, from your aircon, to lightbulbs, etc, so something that can tie into google home or amazon or one of the competing ones. there getting better all the time and even most cheap aliexpress stuff now works on one of the standard systems

with the reports of general public actually going to the police station and reporting their suspicions of said gunman at the driving range and being laughed off then having guns stolen from their own police stations and some of the stories about buy backs it doesn't install much confidence in the thin blue line to organise anything gun related. apparently it is handled differently across districts rather than nationally and they have all channeled the funding away to other areas and let the gun license depts flounder very sorry for the poor bugger killed this week tho, very sad
