  6. being a t28, how much flow per minute can it handle brfore bottle necking?do you have any low compression pistons to go with this log? how much boost an a m50 block take? what size turbo would be best suited for this little engine?what other bits do i need to make it go good? really want/need 500hp at the wheels so i can do mean az skids

  11. no easy way,other then what Brent said,plane the head to minimium and the block. that should bring it up to 9.5ish.add e28 pistons=9.7 or fit an e28,e23,e24 head=9.8cr or fit the m90 block with the e34 crank and rods,again skim the head=9.8ish.(3660cc) bore the m90 to 95mm add custom domed pistons=10.5ish
  12. yes have both,an e28 3.5L 240k. and an e32 engine with 220k. both ran great and have looms/ecu's for both
  13. time to move some stuff on. some guy's on here will wonder why now and not when they asked for it.sorry. realities do change,and i need to own up to the fact that time is moving on-no more projects,for now so we have a 7.5kg solid flywheel.no pickups,its from an early carb e12 unit. and a up-speced clutch.work done by auto-clutch. 2400lb pressure plate with full face kevlar clutch plate/rather then the 5 puk setup. good for the turbo setups.several have worked well for me-380HP/700nm these have been sitting for a while,so have alittle surface rust.no major to clean up. $1000 for the set. also have a reco'ed e34 m5 280 getrag 5 speed box that needs to go. had many plans,but again,reality. work done KBM,with all new syncro's,seals and bearings,selector fork(?). parts for this box from BMW is litteraly gold plated,so needs to be priced to match either way,and awesome box to handle more power etc. $3000

  19. thought i'd better post up some more progress reports before silver fox starts getting itchy for details . as some of you know,it did make it to hampton.And yes it even held together long enough to complete 9 laps ,until a radiator hose blew and it got mega hot. HG was not happy/maybe more problems over December,enough courage was racked togther to start removing bits and have 'em checked. Head was tested(came back with a 100% bill of health) and plained. new HG was ordered from gaskets unlimited (cheers Tony) and were back on track.head went on last nite,so not far away from hearing the music. this car is now the third turbo project and will have a different setup again from previous experiments. this time round its been appropriatly labled version 3.1 i would post a pic,but its seems to be blocking my attempts

  21. i think we are all trying to tell you that HP=$$. amazingly, its not a theory,the more HP's,will need more $$ to keep it 1,on the road and 2,one one piece under the bonnet. 15psi will (at very best) double the hp of the original engine. what your hoping for (400) will need 20+ psi. i'm not cued up on holset units,but just read the flow charts and make an informed choice your-self. hoping and aiming for a HP goal are two very different statements, please be clear to yourself if you want to finish this project ,reaching a hp goal,and is it worth the time and effort. if you want 400hp DO add rods at minimum. you cant biuld something like this on a 'warehouse' sized budget rant over
