  1. On behalf of all wellingtonians I will apologise to the world for this monstrosity.
  2. dead battery. Worn brakes. Slipping clutch. Broken headlight adjuster. 2 brake light blubs (the same one twice) in the 2.5 years I have owned. The brakes were my own damn fault for taking it on the track. Possibly the most reliable car I have ever owned. Everything works perfectly now that I have upgraded the brakes and clutch. I'm sure there are plenty of "common" BMW faults but no more than say Mercedes or Audi.... mate just flicked his AMG cause it had seemingly endless "common" faults. So I guess it's relative.
  3. I never understood dipping your McD's chips in ice cream.
  4. from someone whom has a BMW in my garage which has never missed a beat..... and a Nissan, yet again in pieces in a workshop, like it has been for the past 2 years on and off... ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
  5. no complaints here either. Please don't change it too much.
  6. it would only "feel" looser if you are used to driving it with the the brace on.it would just go back to standard as there is no way a brace bends the strut towers. Someone forgot to replace mine and I didn't even notice until I opened the hood.
  7. +1 great idea. at that age you really need all your senses concentrating, because they don't know it, but they actually aren't Micheal Schumacher. I agree it probably wont make a massive difference but at least the line is drawn.
  8. ha! yup if you launched the RS2 and used the overboost function I'm sure it would beat a stock M5 to 100. After that it would be a whole new world however. e39 M5's trump card is in it's 80 - 160/180kph acceleration. Very nice car mate. I've always liked them since I saw & heard one going for it back in the day. Such noise!
  9. really nice in the blue mate. Looks in good nick too. porsche KKK turbo & brakes audi 5 pot. so much win.
  10. really nice car mate. Best colour IMO. How's your RS2 ? got a pic of that? does it still go okay? they are pretty rare these days. They were off the scale back in the day. My dad had a S4 but there was an RS2 down the road and it was super quick!
  11. that doesn't sound right. are you saying you can't unlock the car at all from within at all. I'm sure you can in mine as long as you don't deadlock.
  12. deadlocked? did you use key or remote?
  13. was that the megafactories series?
  14. pretty cool... free from app store
  15. height relative to sea level is probably the hardest measurement forsatnav's. it's the most likely measurement to have the largest margins for error.
  16. Watched over the wknd. Interesting....I'd love to goto the museum. But yeah, the reporter, freaking annoying.
  17. happy to hear that Aslan. If you have a dog / kiddies etc you can disable the interior sensors independently as well. Should be a second push on the lock remote within 5 sec and the LED will confirm with a static light for a few seconds. Only found that a few months back....used to drive me mad when my dog kept setting off the alarm. Silly dog likes being in the drivers seat. Like her dad.
  18. welcome Your interior sensor will have leaked outside the car with the window down and picked up your movement.
  19. Welcome shelly. You have to treat M car's like any other...there are good well maintained examples out there and ones to stay away from. Service history & condition is paramount. Get a good one...like mine...and it really is a joy to own.
  20. man....using the key in the door is just like using the remote...Like I said before. lock the car with the window rolled down. Wait 1 min for it to arm. Stick your arm in the window move it around. No alarm? no interior sensors. Reach your arm in the window and unlock the door (from the inside), open door. No alarm? ... answer.
  21. try to open the door? did you open it? touching the car or trying the door handle wont set off the majority of alarms. You will need to open the door for the alarm to notice the door trigger or interior light voltage drop.
  22. test it. leave your windows down, lock car so LED flashes. stick your arm in window, if alarm sounds you have internal sensors. If not unlock the door using the internal lock and open door. You should be able to work it out from there..! There should also be a alarm fuse, possibly in the boot fuse box location. Check it has a fuse and isn't blown.
