No just thinking of some for the fogs as I already have OEM xenons that work well.It would be nice to get the fogs to match the other lights. I would still like to see some pictures of them first.

    EOI: HID kits

Yup. I'd been keen on an HB4 for the M front fog light as seen here: http://bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E39/Seda...lamp_m_technik/ It would be good to know if they are direct fitment or some wiring / installation is required?

I'd be interested in a HB4 for my foglamps. these are direct replacement HID kit's? do you have any links / pics or more info?
  9. I did start looking at an aftermarket AMP but with DSP, wiring and amp selection started becoming quite a mission. I decided to upgrade the speakers and see what it sounded like. I did already have the M audio package which has a half decent AMP to power the two OEM 10" subs. What I found is that adding an additional AMP whist will provide some additional adjust-ability and punch really wasn't warranted as I never turn it up that loud and the sound quality was pretty darn good IMO. I can't remember what the DICE unit cost, nor could I compare to cheaper units I have not used. What I can say is I purchased off Richard on this forum (Gadgetman - www.gadgets4u.co.nz) his support was exceptional and I couldn't be happier with the unit. Everything is controllable off the steeringwheel and the song info comes up either on the main screen or as I have it set to the OBC screen on the dash.
  10. Hi Jason & welcome. I've upgraded the stereo in my e39 and did it using the bavsoundwerks youtube guides and a mix of high end speakers and DICE input to retain the factory look. You don't need to pay bavsound prices to get the sound if you have some basic skills. I've upgraded to 6.5" Precision Power components both front and rear utilising the factory speaker positions, x-overs, midrange tweeters and wiring. DICE ipod interface allows steering wheel control over all my music. sound is exceptional. All the work was pretty straight forward, remove interior, make customwood speaker rings to allow for the much larger speakers, reassemble. The bonus with this way is for a smaller price than the bavsound speakers I was able to get a 6.5" driver. They largest driver they use is still 5.25". Happy to answer any questions you may have.
  11. Ha that worked. Yes less than 800 now. So here you are a E39 on m sport suspension & 19's (275/35/19 all round). Sits nice & rides beautifully. Of course ride is always upto ones own interpretation. I would recommend thinking of over tyring if you experience any grip issues. Oh yes....I like the M6 wheels in 19's on the e39 too. I say go for it. (that pic def has been lowered in the front). I would shy away from going for full coilovers since you are concerned with ride some can be quite hard even on the softest setting.
  12. From someone with an M E39 whom has already done this: I've lowered my front with H&R springs (self leveling rears) on standard shocks and run 19" wheels (275 all around) and the car is firm but rides beautifully IMO. Brought the front tyre nicely into the guard as factory they have a huge gap here. Best thing I've done to the car. No bump steer. No understeer. I have more positive turn in and increased grip. I'd upload a pic but my 248kb pic wont upload ? states upload failed. Ask admin to check settings & permissions. Admin?

  14. Ah hahahahahahaedit: reinstall your browser dude. You should have titled this my browser crashes whilst using trademe.
  15. speaking from experience. This is all true. There's nothing quite like a M5, looking around I couldn't think of anything that would quite replace it. My car still looks and drives like it has 80k on the clock not 80,000. Everything still works, perfectly. And there's nothing quite like 3rd gear with your foot buried. Always brings a smile. I highly recommend it.
  16. do you know what they are charged with?
  17. for those whom haven't read it yet. It's a BMW car fest. New M5 on the cover & reviewed, twice. New 650i Z3 M coupe - Hammond's classic section additional M5's reviewed: E28 E34 E39 E60

    330, my version.

I have to say I quite like both styles. Originally it was a very subtly modded car. You really have to look to notice the M3 bonnet & pumped guards. I generally prefer this approach myself. With the red wheels...well it's just more obvious. Each to their own. I'd like to see it in person one day. I bet it looks tits rocking down the motorway.

does anyone have a link or pic of it before...with the old wheels for comparison?

    330, my version.

I like the red taillights but ...... ....but I don't get this trend of decreasing aero efficiently by slapping on roof racks???? Do you ever use them? why don't you just stick a sail on the roof then at least at sometime you will get a small performance boost. Am I too old?
