+1 Woolfe. They did mine.

Apparently Repco, Bunnings etc. have it, so can't be bothered group buying. It's stood up pretty well although I need to re-do a bit as a wheel balance lifted a wee bit but ill just touch it up.

He's a forum member, he came to the Show N Shine at Botany 2010 or 2011 can't remember. Cruised out Waiuku way,

Having trouble sourcing green too. Think I'm going to do black/red in mean time. The dipyourcar.com boss Fonzie did his S4 in a custom blue . It's on YouTube and looks sick.

http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-3697-e39...spring-set.aspx I'm interested in those, primarily to drop the car a little bit, but will it adversely affect the handling of the car? Obviously BMW has put a lot of r&d into their suspension so I'm not sure whether or not these would improve the handling or make it worse. I have no experience in changing vehicle suspension. Thanks

Mate your wheels will look tops in black with a red time attack ring. Ill show you my curb damage when I get home whih I covered with dip really nicely.

I'd definitely be putting tires on first. It is a great product but application has to be perfect otherwise you WILL have to start over.

I've always had good experiences with Evan's European, they've done most of our repairs over the years.

I finish my exams on the 12th of Nov. I'll do it after then. Really looking forward to it as the Turbo Twists on it are a simple wheel design (much more so than my spoke motorsport wheels) If you're tossing up whether to do it or not, go for it. The money is negligible compared to powdercoating and it's totally reversible. Dad's decided to buy a hydraulic jack and some jack stands for the car so that'll make life even easier.

Awesome didn't realise other places had it too. Thanks for the positive comments guys, I was going to do blaze blue but decided against it as the wheels aren't right for it I think. On the black 996 Porsche I'm weighing up black with red time attack ring or blaze green (Dad's car + his corporate colour is bright green so that could be cool)

Haha cash recovery.. Story of my life!

I actually saw those being used after I'd already done it. Would definitely get one for next time. Doing 4 wheels was fine but any more and you'd be experiencing a bit've discomfort I'd imagine. Doing 1 layer at a time, 1 wheel at a time gave my hand a break in between. Control wise, it was fine. I'm sure one of them would help though.

Hi mate, This may be of interest to you. $60 and an afternoon in the sun. Wouldn't be using it on calipers though. http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=42337

Thanks. Appreciate it Just let me know how much you want.

If you get fed up with it you can throw it my way.. Perhaps with some financial reimbursement your way.

Nice car. Purely out of curiosity, what is a "WHY" with regard to swaps?

Another vote for style 65s

Could you not get RE002 because they don't make them or there are none around? I've had Bridgestone Adrenalin RE001s on all corners of my 530i M ... Now after one needed replacement and the VERY (as in none) limited stock in New Zealand (and only 6 in Australia) I've got RE001s and 1 RE050 on a back corner. Admittedly, I can't feel a difference... The RE050 is supposedly a top tyre .. And got it for $75 too so can't argue with that. When I used RE001s on all corners, I did so for about a year and a half. They're very good tyres (IMO).. Good turn in, pretty good wet performance. They're quite progressive and give good road feel. On some NZ road surfaces they can be very noisy, and they also seem to wear quite quickly. I'd buy them again if they were available! The RE050 I have looks good.. Can't comment on a full set-up but it could be a contender for a next tyre. I've heard a bit about how Toyo T1Rs aren't up to the weight of a 530i, let alone a 540i.. Not idea of the validity of this statement but could be worth looking into in the future, if you decide to look at Toyos. My 2c.

Looks like one of the easier wheel designs to do.. I wouldn't be too happy trying to manage a more technical wheel like RS's or something.. Mine were a bit've a pain doing them while they were still on the car. Turned out good but had to make a conscious effort to get every angle with even coverage. Would recommend putting the car on blocks and doing all 4 resting on the ground but definitely achievable doing on the car. Take the wheel off, put a garbage bag over the brake mechanism and put the wheel back on. No need to mask off tyre as you can peel the vinyl right off afterwards.

Re: how much I used. 2 cans lasted 4 wheels, 3 wing mirrors, (a small mistake that needed redoing) and my kidney grilles - + some left over.. Wheels are 17" Planning on doing the 911 after exams too

Got it from platinumwheels. No lime green - unfortunately. I'm looking to import a whole lot so will post up here before then. Will be much cheaper. It seems to be used quite heavily on wheels in the car community, www.dipyourcar.com does a lot of automotive work with it.

Yep you sure do! Totally reversible if applied correctly Thanks for the comment

Found some Plastidip so had a crack at it... Much more expensive than in the states at $30NZD a can here ($5-10USD there) but thought what the hell for $60... Very pleased with the result BEFORE: AFTER:
