  1. I was going to like this, but I got "You have reached your quota of positive votes for the day" :/
  2. This is where their plan is flawed and why such GST is not collected. A huge logistical nightmare.
  3. Yeah, the laborious task of emailing for quotes on certain items is just archaic, may as well be in 1998 with a dial up modem. I have to do that with sourcing Toyota parts locally from dealers among other things.
  4. Is it specified as a routine maintenance repair in the BMW workshop manuals?
  5. How will it level the playing field when local retailers have absurd mark ups while stocking a very poor range of products. Half the reason I buy overseas is due to something not being available here, or it's considerably more expensive here. It's not just 15% that gets slapped on for $401 at the moment, I've also been charged another $50 for ridiculous security and customs fees with GST on those!

    'THE' M3...

Ew god on that note I just realised I have well over 3k posts. I spend too much time on the web. Oh well
  7. I've always liked the look of these Mercedes. Night and day compared to the rather woeful w210 before them.
  8. Hah bugger, yeah, Im not sure if you bother to fix the original or look for alternatives. I dont know Mercedes specifics but it would be nice to adapt an older car to run a newer box, but that wouldnt be easy unless they ran a separate tcu and you could get all the sensor required etc...
  9. Yeah ^ the GTI one is a bit messy I've always thought
  10. For some reason I always think that of anything 1994 related
  11. Another factor is the sound between the gearbox variations. Your average automatic on a gear change is okay, some better than others, but one that retards the timing and has a high slip change is pretty nasty on the ear. True manuals when shifted nicely are probably my favorite, especially with that brief off the gas pause, then youre back on it DCT with its quirky throttle blips is hard not to like, such a quick change of sound is certainly cool. Such noises make the cars sound very tight and focused.
  12. Looks very tidy. 60,000kms indeed. I had the chance to drive a 1994 model around for a few days. Powerful machine, but they are hefty barge of a car. Perfect to cruise around in with the top down, especially with that engine sound. Not so much a car to push into corners though. Being yours is a 1992 the only draw back would be that full hydraulic 4 speed auto, they are okay but pretty dim witted things. I've heard the 5 speed electronic 1996 version boxes are a huge improvement, but of course you cant just drop one of those in. Still one of my favorite looking cars of the 90s
  13. What the sellers mentioned would just be the tip of the iceberg. Plenty of gremlins would be hiding within just from general wear and tear / lack of maintenance. (All suspension and mounting components for instance) Other factor is has it been in any accidents.. A potentially good buy but I wouldn't bother unless I had a workshop to strip it down to a degree and a fair amount of cash to sort it out.
  14. The rear tail lights are an E31 signature. Hard to improve them I think! Still, if It came out stock like that it wouldn't have been a big deal given it would have matched the E34 / E32 rear light style, slightly.
  15. Haha, disagree. A professional DJ that uses vinyl only has far more respect from like minded music goers, and they have considerable skill that takes much practice to refine. Don't forget vinyl too has a better sound, especially noticable at louder volumes, CDs and such digital media are far brighter and harsher on the ear.

    Boom.

Wow, nasty dealer story! Did the current owner get stung?
  17. Haha, wait, like this? Oh my..
  18. Mmm that blue 840ci looks top notch, especially with those style 5s. I was going to come along to this but priorities were upheld.
  19. Michael.

    Boom.

Pity it's not a real CSI, bit like having a 540i with M5 plates Eitherway looks like a tidy example, though its comes up as a white car via a vin search. Been repainted, no wonder it's so shiny!

Ah yes, the harbor bridge wind test is a crucial one.
  21. I think Ron is just being Ron. If we really analyse it I suppose he could considered a troll, but at least he was making a justified point within a specific topic. Now that you mention it, If anything you were playing the troll with your repeated anti-soarer remarks that offered no actual point other than to annoy me. Often somethings are better left unsaid. Lets just remind ourselves of the given definition: If anything it's worse, all you did was undermine your integrity by not keeping pointless, objectionable comments to yourself. If that was your intention, well done.
