I can't drive my car cause my waterpump is shot. But Tatyana is used to my antics, I had the Mini which was sounded ratchet as in the cabin before I did some soundproofing! I waas going to Dynamat while I had the carpets out but couldn't get it in time.

Looking hellaclean buddy! I'm sure you will sort the rust during your break no sweat. Hit me up when you want the tools.

Auction closing soon!

Haha shoved it back in place in under twenty mins!! Might get round to putting all the trim back today... The Mrs is keen for the beach though.... As if I weren't tanned enough. Ah well, I don't get my front seats back from Waikumete until next week anyway!

Worthwhile only if you do it right haha! I might have a grinder lying around that you could borrow. Ask me to look for it later.

Yeah I doubt anyone would know its cut once I put it all back together. Was definitely put together without much thought.

Yep, no way in hell was I gonna pull out the dash!

Love the effort and work that has gone into this!

Been working full time recently, finally managed to have a day to myself. Last week I managed to score Ray's leather recaro interior from the M325i he did the one series interior swap into. The drivers seat is getting some upholstery work done on the bolsters and then it should be good to drop in. In the meantime I figured I would finally get around to dyeing my carpet so when I get the seat back I could fit it all in at once. Car is currently off the road anyway since the waterpump shat itself on xmas eve. After an hour I had this I didn't really do too much research on removing the carpet. I had already removed the seats previously so had that out in five mins. The rear half of the center console was a breeze, the front portion was a bit trickier with the hidden nut. Had a bit of difficulty with the sill panels too but all they needed was a bit of force. Was worried I would crack it but they are pretty tough. The following link helped a bit: http://e30performance.info/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=1627 Here is the carpet out with its 23 years of gunk. Set about water blasting it for a good half hour with no soap. It still sudded it heaps, others may have tried washing it with cleaners. As clean as it will get: I wouldn't say it was an easy task but it definitely wasn't hard. After some cussing, coke (the drink!) and sh*t loads of patience it was relatively straightforward. Will leave it to dry for a few days. Then when I get my drivers seat back Ill fit everything in again. Read that fitting the carpet back is worse than taking it out which I am not looking forward to! This car is really distracting me from my e36...

Would do a buy now for bimmersport members. For those who don't know, it is from Glenn's old e30. Managed to score myself leather recaros from Ray! Let me know if I'm way off on pricing, haven't seen any other sets on trademe. I know its not the recaros but it is extremely tidy! http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.as...093&ed=true

Small place. Im at number 75 down the road. If my car was running I would've brought it up to take a pic side by side lol

Just saw it in person on my street. You don't live there do you? Looks even better in person!

E36 black coupe carpet or E30 side skirts??

If you go to a dealer with your VIN number they could get you a spare key. Same with BM Workshop in Botany (cheaper). Smith & Smith or Novus would be cheaper than the dealer for window but non OEM.

Hmm yeah I think we took too many shotcuts haha. Cheers for the advice! Ill be doing mine in a couple of weeks too then.

Is it very difficult to remove the carpets? What are you planning to use to dye the carpets? I did a mates e30 with that VHT stuff, it didn't come out too bad but did wear out pretty quick...
-
All black would've worked well, keeping in theme with the black wing mirrors (jealous) and the fog light blanks. Honestly wish I had amber indicators too! Two great cars!

I figure to keep costs down and also to have a stock look to it, it would be easiest to find an OEM carpet off another car? Proving very hard as it usually gets thrown out haha. Hmmm, do you mean the spray can dye? Did it on a mates e30 and it came out decent, a bit rougher but after a few months it did show wear. We did my mates car with relative ease. It is the wear factor that bothers me haha. Yeah good joke coming from the 328i owner! Heard its VTEC kick in yet?

Love both the cars! Especially the wagon! The wheels and mtech kit make it! (I am partial to the wheels!) Not sure about the tiles on the roof though
