  1. fair call i got mine apart and had a look at the bushes and they were very low and the car is on 195000kms still think it is a good idea to replace regulator considering its close to $80 to have new bushes soldered in to old regulator and there no gaurantee itl work after its been soldered apart and put back together but yip replacing the reg would be your choice, id disassemble and check if it needs replacing first though:) cheers
  2. thinking of doing a few alternators for the chaps here on bimmersport for way less than market rate ive done my own alternator and have got all the tools so for a little bit of extra money i thought id do some more people a favor and save them alot of cash you could use on other stuff if you want new bearings put in without a new regulator itll be $100 all up (i do suggest you change the regulator at the same time though) new regulator and bearings will be $300 all up yes you could get a secong hand alternator but it would not last nearly as long or maybe ull be lucky and it does and a brand new one is around $1400 (got this price from an auto electrician) so my number is 021 148 6554 turn around time would be 2 days and a maximum of 3 days
  3. damn thats shiny ..all of them but love the first DAMN!! this gardx stuff can be bought where??if at all cheers
  4. could just be the valve body or tcu (transmition control unit) have it scanned might give the code for either fault it could save you some pennies, if not then go for a replacement box hope that helps

  16. did a little bit of research and a dirty mass airflow sensor can cause some of the symtoms i was experiencing if not all took airflow sensor off and bathed it in cleaning alchohol (safe for electronics) then used an earbud and alchohol to clean a bit more and left to dry for an hour walla....beautiful! car goes waaaay better...no stuttering no pinging no hesitation and when it kicks down it really reacts like it should highly recommend this $15 airflow sensor cleaning process, it may even give back some lost ponies
  17. tried full tank of 96 then of 98 and no difference its not to do with the fuel grade i only use the good stuff and the fact that a fault code listed the knock sensor as a problem says it all cheers
  18. the car is an e36 325i vanos lately i have noticed flat spots in power and at times its a noticable amount slower than it normaly goes had it scanned and the knock sensor came up as a fault this as far as i know tells the ecu when to retard or advance timing how much are these lil buggers??easy to replace?? cheers
  19. its all good now after fixing a few heat exposed wires she runs mint cheers
  20. replaced dizzy cap and still ther maybe worse haha any other ideas of what i could check?
  21. yip that must be the problem then?? changed dizzy cap and the idle is worse so maybe both are the culprit? cheers
  22. checked all the leads and dizzy definitly got spark at all the plugs but and its a bit tricky... there is a timing sensor?attached to the 6th plug lead and sends the pulses to the cpu for timing disonnected the 6th plug completely and ran a different plug with no timing sensor and it ran exactly the same with the missfire this leads me to believe the timing sensor is buggered because when you disonnect the timing sensor from the DME? the car dies so if the timing sensor thingy is bust that could have been the problem from the beginning?
