  1. Well the old girl was sold on Saturday and has gone back up to Auckland with the new owner. Hopefully he gets as much enjoyment out of it as I have had, as well as the frustrations! I will hopefully own a beemer in the future but I will be saving up for something of a higher grade.
  2. Brand New Unused Brake Pads (Drum) & Used Drums $50? Front Mudflaps (PFL) Include mounting brackets but no clips. Clips are $10 or so for a bag from BMW dealers. $20? Front Shocks, Struts & Springs (54mm) One shock is leaking so was failed on a warrant. Lowered springs attached. $80? Blower fan unit (FL) Got sent the wrong one. $50? Plus shipping but feel free to offer whatever I just want the stuff out of the shed.
  3. How terminal is the rust? Is it just the firewall? I would say it could be as cheap as $200 to fix (cut out and new plate welded)...
  4. I got sent the wrong fan Anyone got one I need it by next weekend if at all possible? Please make sure it is the right one I have wasted $50 already...
  5. Hi Guys, Anyone have one of the above? Mine is shot. #64111370930 http://images2.carpartsdiscount.com/auto/a...64111370930.jpg
  6. Nice work on he CPL! Massey runs a little slower Guess I get a degree though... Wouldn't want to pull the blower fan out for me would ya?
  7. Heh pilot training is expensive enough even without an E30 hanging off your back
  8. Ok thanks guys I will look through these things. Will replace the easy/cheap things I think a fuel filter will be next and then in intake manifold gasket set.
  9. Yea the racks come off for the long trips give me a little extra gas left. The beema sits at about 2800rpm and the galant about 2300rpm (from memory...) I guess the other thing is the beema needs to foot to the floor to keep it between 90-100 going up the hills around the plateau and the galant only needs it halfway. It just seems the car hesitates when accelerating from stopped but are you guys saying it is better to spend my money on replacing parts than getting a tune up?
  10. Hi Guys, Wondering where a good place semi-local would be for a tune up on the M10? Wondering how much something like this normally costs too. The car seems to gurgle alot of gas compared to my flatmates 1995 Galant. The Galant is 2L 4Cyl and I use double the gas it does to get around. Takes the beema 1 tank to get to Tauranga took the mitsi half a tank. I don't dare take it to a run of the mill mechanic as they seem to turn away upon hearing the word BMW. I am considering driving down to JKS to get it done properly.
  11. E30 needs some gas to get started when cold. Doesn't need any when hot and needs a little when warm. When dead cold it will just sit cranking if I don't give it gas. Cold Start Valve?
  12. Adjustment clip for PFL foglights? I *think* it is part # 63171381691 Front driveshaft centre guide? Part #26111225624 Picture of clip in this thread. http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=42948 Many Thanks
  13. I saw a black E30 last night around midnight on Pioneer Highway. I think it was E30 Chick?
  14. Hi Guys, I have two bits I need for a WOF. First is a little clip from PFL Fog Lights. I *think* it is part # 63171381691 http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/184/20121217190238.jpg http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/7756/20121217190249.jpg Second is the front diveshaft guibo. Part #26111225624
  15. Mine never has... Can't clear all the threads
  16. Hey Guys, This was the parents old daily. Was immaculate when they bought it. The owner before us was a BMW employee (not sure which dealership sorry) and they bought the car literally just down the road from Middlemore Hospital (Coronation Rd) for $6500 Lived it's life with us on the Shore. Ended up selling last year just after moving to Papamoa. Mum went back up to the Ellerslie Car Show and I think sold for $3000ish. Good Points from when they owned it. In our ownership all servicing required was carried out by Ken at Bellars Motor Worx. Bad Points from when they owned it. Tappets had started getting really quite noisy and had been mentioned by Bellars that some cam work would need to be done at some point. The radiator died on a trip my brother took to Hamilton. I wasn't there but it sounded like he overheated it nicely... Brand New radiator was fitted when he got back would have been 2 years ago now. Nothing went wrong after that but I can't help but think something could have been damaged that could show up later? Don't know enough about those kinds of things to say... Wheels are pretty shocking, the brake dust has eaten the coating away so they would need a good repaint to come up well. Thats about it but I thought I'd give you guys a heads up
  17. Yea my towbar bolted straight on. Huffer did you have to drill and/or do you have four bolts each side? I have four holes on the towbar each side but only two holes in the chassis to bolt to (I decided I didn't need to drill only towing very light trailers).
  18. Struts are a full set? Including shocks?
  19. Very nice E30 in palmy (bull**** I hear you say!) had two elderly gents smartly dressed puttering through town. Looks like a minter! Had tech1 rear and front (I think) but the side skirts were something else. Had vents on them like this (although obviously not as crap and over the top, didn't have openings in them either but couldn't find a picture of them anywhere) http://www.edozone.com/BMW/BMW_3_SERIES_E3...y_Kit_84_91.jpg I might have to stalk it out and see if he wants to sell one day. http://www.bmwvin.com/?vin=8724698
  20. Love both of these cars! The E30 would go nice with some basketweaves and maybe a little low to fill out the arches. E30's have always looked like the ride height of a 4x4 when stock
  21. Awesome! Just what I was looking for, cheers mate.
