  1. Won't fit PFL. Should fit sedan
  2. What?! I used to live on Knights Rd. How did I miss all these E30's running around? We have had many at that address over the years: -Red E30 316i PFL -Red E30 318i Coupe FL -Red E30 325i Convertible PFL -Maroon E30 325i SE -White E30 318i Coupe PFL All gone now though except for mine.
  3. M325i in black outside the Hospital and then again 5mins later at the Milson dairy. XP****
  4. Welcome! I highly recommend Bellars Motor Works on Constellation Drive. Ken there treated my family and I well when we lived in Auckland. Andrew
  5. Hey just a tip for when the bit comes, how did you go about locking it? Any other tips for the change-over? Also bump for the original post.
  6. Picked it up from the panel beaters today. All the rust is gone. Also fitted new electric aerial and sorted interior lights. Everything electric works like it should now.
  7. Oh bugger I am a silly twit. I mis-heard the guys at PitStop. I have confirmed it with them now and they said new pads, cylinders and machining of drums. So it will indeed need new cylinders which I will now be on the hunt for. They were the ones quoted at $95 each. Sorry for the confusion.
  8. Thanks for the offer! I will definitely hit you up if it turns out my drums are stuffed. Will still go the new pads route though (don't wanna be skimping on those).
  9. Hi Guys, You have all been very good to me and I have yet another (tedious?) question. I have failed a warrant on the left rear drum brake leaking. Warrant sheet says 'Check rear brake balance LHR brake wet' I took this to PitStop and they said 'OK new rear drums are $95 each and rear brake pads are $90 pair. Plus 2 hours labour thats $400' Question 1. Because one is leaking does it need everything replaced? That seems a little extreme to me... Question 2. If it does need replacing, do the drums need replacing as well? I thought they were under the same general guidelines are brake discs. In other words they need to be a certain thickness and no major damage (or may need machining if that is the case). It seems like a drum would take a fair amount to need replacement. Oh and PitStop did this without even looking at the brake that was leaking let alone looking at any of my brakes... Question 3. Wondering if it worth my time to take to another mechanic to have a look at the brakes and assess them? Also managed to find brakes and drums overseas for half those prices quoted so if it is the worst case I can get those. Many Thanks, Andrew
  10. Oh thanks guys! I was of the information that only '84 and '85 318i's were 45mm and the rest 51mm. Either case they are gonna do the job! I will start spraying those nuts!
  11. Will do! We have the DA-40's and DA-42's here. Haven't had the pleasure of using the sim yet so not sure what it is...
  12. Another one here with his head in the clouds. PPL flight test is coming up in the next few weeks. Almost up to 100 hours (Massey does it all funny) and then CPL next year.
  13. Thanks Lance! Brother got the tickets he is a happy chappy.
  14. Thanks a bunch I thought that was the case. Yes I will have to check, although my springs are shorter than factory too so hopefully the shock length is better for them than stock anyway. If not I will just use the springs included.
  15. Hi Guys, Trying to suss some front shocks but don't have $500+ for a brand new set Wondering if the following is going to work out on my car. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-...n-479957218.htm I know the 1984-85 318i's had 45mm struts and these will be 51mm but if I take out the spring that these come with and pop in mine and completely swap them over is that going to work out? Thanks, Andrew
  16. My brother would happily take them off your hands! Pick-up only I guess or a meeting place? I can give him your number or vice versa if you like?
  17. Hi Guys, Looking for the air con blower fan. Thanks, Andrew

  19. Hopefully I have been as transparent as possible in the following Feel free to make offers. $3500ONO Details: 1985 BMW 318i 219500km Auto Jap Import 1994 Registration expires January 2013 WOF expires December 2012 Issues -Front crankshaft seal leaking very slowly. I keep an eye on the oil but haven't had to top up since last oil change. Have new seal but I think it is too complex for me to attempt. -Blower fan makes some horrid noises. I have been trying to source a new one if I get one I will put it in. -Muffler has burst at the seams (literally) from a nasty backfire which occurred when I had to jump-start her on the old battery. Will be replacing it when I get the money. -The paint job is now a little rougher after I asked a panel beater to tap out the dent in the front corner (I think every E30 has them) and he ended up sanding back and priming it. I will also be repainting this but it is not the top priority as it is just cosmetic. Good Points -Original motorsport pinstriping -Tastefully lowered -Interior is in excellent condition, recaro cloth seats and no tears or rips in any of the fabric. Floor mats have done their job superbly as carpet underneath is spotless -Dashboard cover (dash has plenty of cracks) -OEM Mudflaps -Roof Racks -14" BBS rims (are in need of a re-paint to be honest) -Mongoose M60B 4 Star Immobiliser/Alarm System with Keyless Entry -Panasonic CQ-RX122W Head Unit -Pioneer TS-G1313R Speakers all round -Brand new exhaust + muffler from resonator to tip from Pit Stop about a month ago -Second hand SuperCats (195/65R14) on the rear wheels 6 months ago and Brand New Front Left as of a week ago -All receipts for work done during my ownership -Oil + Filter change at 217000km -Brand new battery with 12 month warranty -Brand new power steering belt -All rust has been cut out -Rear brake have been overhauled and second hand replacement parts fitted (drums, shoes, cylinders, lines) -Sunroof (Manual) -Air Con (Still Blows Cold) -Every single electric component works Showroom Thread: http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=35141 CarJam http://www.carjam.co.nz/car/?plate=EJJ650
  20. It's back! And a bargin too... http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-478915973.htm
  21. Cheers Gavin! Great service, ordered a very small part that had to be brought in from Germany for my little old e30 and he didn't hesitate to help out. Also I'm pretty sure he posted it to me before the payment had cleared in his account, that or the courier delivered in less than 1 day from Auckland to Palmy!!!
  22. Damn I missed that
  23. I hope that's not what I looked like when I drove my mothers various E30's when I first got my license... Some people I do not understand
  24. And those guards/flares aren't standard. Nice unique project looks like.
