  1. I don't think $12k is out of the question if it's mint and with 126kms, it should be. David had $12k on his 325 and nobody quibbled. Comparing it with a non compliant M3 is a self defeating argument, it's non compliant, so you can't drive it anywhere except the track. This car would make a great daily driver with a point of difference to most cars on the road.

    RJ's new ride

"but their handling lets them down," Pardon?
  3. M325i, 286km, rebuilt (rings/bearings/clutch etc) at 207km, new gear box mounts, discs, susp bushes, drive train stuff, clutch cylinders etc etc etc. 325i Convertible, 190km, cracked head/new water pump/ computer, in time I've had it, 1 sump gasket.
  4. Looks like an old Motoform rim to me, but could be wrong.
  5. If you're talking about the one at TWR Racing, I heard that $10k would buy it, would be a fun conversion. Brent, was that not your car at turners last week??
  6. If it's under warranty, get them to fix it, shouldn't cost you anything. Plus, if you leave it, they'll probably tell you that you voided the warranty by not bringing the problem to their attention.

    not an m325i

5 star alarm? Never leaving it alone in public? Garaged? Nice car though.
  8. Brilliant! I look forward to my letter from the muppet on Saturday who, pausing only to adjust the volume on his iPod, stepped out in front of me as I cruised through the green light on the corner of Princes and Waterloo Quadrant.
  9. Hey Gus, you are thinking E21, not E30? According to the 2.7 build sticky, the ports are considerably larger on the 731 vs 200 head, which they say is effectively the same as the head on the 525e. Maybe a 525e head would be a relatively easy find from someone who'd pulled apart a 2.7 for other uses. . . .
  10. I quite like the way he's integrated the park bench seat into the rear bumper and am a particular fan of keeping the standard shitty steering wheel. Maybe he's trading up to that 525 with the 850 front?

    Do these work?

They work better with two, one for the intake and one for the exhaust.
  12. Mate, I've seen your car around and it looks (ed?) great, so sorry to hear this. Good luck with it,. I've had this twice, one win from Wellington CC and one loss from Auckland CC, who said it was just one of those things (broken balljoint). Luckily, Lexus thought better and replaced it for free. Try Nazistaffcars mehtod and the key as always is to make a nuisamnce of yourself, eventually they will pay to make you go away. Good luck
  13. This piece of crap (the "850 nose 525"for clarity) appeared in an earlier forum somewhere. Hideous. Terrible. I'm astounded anyone would pay $5k for it. Must have a look around the house and see what I can weld onto the front of the convertible. . . .
  14. Unless the 320 is dirt cheap (read free), why bother? Just buy a 328. By the time you've bought all the bits, got them fitted etc, you will probably have spent about the same and have a bastard car with questionable resale. It's not like 328s are expensive, a mate just bought a coupe, manual, Msport kit, NZ new with 120kms (that's 75k miles to you) for $10k. My 2 cents.
  15. Pretty sure it's M50 and seeing as how we had a '91 model, I'm picking they came out in '91. Autocar and Motor (UK Mag) tested it at 0-60 in 7.3 and 15.8 for the 1/4.

    318is

If you decide to part it out, I'd probably be keen on the bonnet, esp. if it was zinnoberrot. . . . Let me know, may be someone wants to keep it whole. Cheers.

    My New Daily

I used to have one, heaps of fun and a great noise. Try and score some carbs like the old 125T had, I think they were side draft dellortos (40s? 45s?). They had that and some big valve heads and cams I think, went well for their day. Please don't rotor it. . . . .

    Advice!

    Hubcap spinners in chrome.
  19. Strangely, I'm in 100% agreement with *sic, moan, moan, then moan some more. If this doesn't work, try repeated moaning, then mention Fair Go, Consumer Guarantees Act, their advertising and anything else even vaguely relevant. If they still haven't had enough, then try moaning. It's the squeaky wheel that gets the oil.

    t boned

A large number of those (written off) cars appear at Turners Damaged. Unless you really know what you're looking at, or for, it's probably best avoided. Pity, looked like a lovely car.
  21. Get an LS400, get a warranty, before the suspension smashes your bank balance into little tiny pieces. Apparently, there's a twin turbo LS around Akld which must be fun with an open diff. I'd keep the 3.
  22. Yeah, I'd be fascinated to see a detuned n/a M3 putting out 600nm of torque.
  23. A 320 is a V6, not an 8.
  24. There's another 325iM running around in Akld, pre fl, full Mtech 2 gear, think it's dark blue(?). Only about 130kms from new, but was in accident about 18 months-2 years ago. Owner bought it back (had had it since new), but couldn't source Mtech1 parts, so used 2 instead.
  25. Have the Feb '05 version of Total BMW mag, with a Misano red M3 vert on the cover, was part of the inspiration behind buying the 325i vert. If only they looked the same. Heard the one in Wgtn sold for $29k in the end, which would be cheap compared to this. Sadly, have been told 4 cars is not on.
