Cain, I thought E34s were OK with 2 bags, not otherwise?? Got that off the LTSA I'm sure?? I get the same fuel consumption you mention from an LS400 (Lexus, cue the booing).

There's no way the convertible would sit on the road over night, if that's what you're thinking. Maybe I'm paranoid after having the Legacy stolen, but I'm 100% confident that the roof would get cut. It's just too easy. And even on the E30, people still pass the odd comment about being a bit "flash". MX-5? My cousin had his tyres slashed on his, only car in the car park to be touched (guess they didn't cut the roof though). During the day it's not too much of a hassle, just park it where you can see it. At the end of the day, as a second car, it's all worth it for a strop down a country road.

Mobil 1 in the m325 and Fuchs in the convertible. Neither burn or use any oil. After changing to M1, I swear the car turns over a bit faster first thing in the morning, but could be imagining things.

Don't know why, but when the mexhanic I use put a different year head on a 320, it wouldn't run properly, kept missing. After lots of head scratching and consultation with other Bimmer mechanics, he changed it for the same year head and away it went. Something to watch out for.

Try this, www.fritzsbits.co.uk They offer a full range of performance upgrades, including cams, triple carb conversions etc. Try and get some info that way. They are expensive for some bits though.

I guess airbag hasn't gone? If it's cheap enough, I'd be interested (maybe) and you can keep the big block.

Andrew, I'm easy, let me know when suits. Cheers.

If the CD stops playing on bumps, the suspension is hard IMO.

Our m325 has had the Bilsteins replaced with Monroes and most of the time it's absolutley fine, in fact it's great fun. The convertible has had Msport springs and bilsteins put in by me (who knew that convertibles and coupes had different ride heights??) and even with the flexi conv body, it is IMO, better. But only at higher speed cornering. If you hit a compression in the road just b4 a corner, give me the bilsteins. Their control over the body for rebound etc is def superior. The ride is pretty hard around town ,but that's a reflection of spring height, not the bilsteins, which will be replacing the Monroes at some stage. Does this make sense, or am I just ranting?

Let me consult the finance committee. Not sure how keen she'll be on a set of tyres sitting around the house..

Thanks guys. Damn you're good Will, I knew you'd have the answer! It's shorting out my alarm, which didn't bother me until the other car got stolen last week. Thought maybe it was time to make it work again.

Can anybody point out to me what I'm missing in trying to remove the speaker grilles in the footwell (front)? I need to get to the wiring for the door switches and this seems the logical way to do it. There's only one screw that I can see, but they ain't budging. Cheers.

Zinno, colour of the convertible, with 15" baskets, black roof and lowered, I reckon it's pretty damn good.

Found! Go the police. Without stereo, smashed locks etc. Viewing tomorrow. Apparently full of the losers worldly possessions (he was kicked out of his house), which will be binned tomorrow. Thanks guys for your help and suggestions.

I like the wheels. Is that spoiler a cut down Supra or something, it's awful. Car looks nice though.

Not really, Rockford Fosgate components in the front, Alpine 3525 amp, Sony XM222 amp, 10 inch boxed sub, Sony CDX C480 player, alpine somethings in the rear. I suspect it's being parted out as we speak.

Thanks for the suggestion Sic, it's on Spotter. Had to wait for my ins broker to tell me who insured it.
