Wants to start and run the m52tu in an E30 Tom All wiring diagrams are here http://www.bmw-planet.com/diagrams/release/us/ VIN number for the car your engine is from is nb15690 (built 5/2000). You might need to cross reference the year of your ECU to the engine to check you're using the correct diagrams. PS system is EWS 3.3 not 3.2. PPS when do you intend starting wiring?

So is repairing the front rails with out a repair cert/law's an arse. Depending on how badly they're bent (or if they are bent).

Pretty bloody easy to reinforce a couple of mounts. Damn sight easier than straightening a front end. Then swap numbers over, no-ones the wiser. Long as it's honest intent there's no problem. Also, work to front rails (crumple zones) would require repair cert. I know I'd be far more comfortable with a reshelled car than a dodgy repair from godknowswhere. *Depends on how badly it's bent.

How do the wheel bearings sound? Any rumbling? Movement? Use a piece of wood or similar in the wheel to get leverage.

I bought all those bits new. Spent many hours getting the bastards in. Didn't like the springy, over assisted feel. Threw them away.

I guess we'll have to disagree on what 'going forward in tech' means. Just seems like a techno-geeks idea of progress. Have they run out of real ideas? And yeah, resigning myself to minority status. There'll always be old stuff to muck around with as long as we get the petrols.
