  1. I used to run, Jamex Springs with Koni SA's, Carl has them now. I really liked them, it was a good road setup, a bit low maybe but not TOO low. What do you think Carl? You also had that setup on the track a fair bit.
  2. I'm not going to vote sorry. While the M-sport wheels are nice, they could be better. The Dish of the Koya's is nice, but the style, NO. Maybe if the centres were black, or a dark grey!?!?! You could definitely do better.
  3. If it's the same guy, he looked faster in the widebody E21 (2003 & 2002), not so much car ($$$) as risk I guess.
  4. Are they barrel shaped rear springs to go in the stock location?? with the articulating height adjusters?? Do they remain captive at full droop?? or are your shocks really short in the rear?? When do we get update pics etc... Josh, rather than teaser's and then hijacking other people threads
  5. Cress, Try Koni SA's and Eibach pro-sport springs, a friend has this in his E34 535i (same suspension setup as a E32) on 18" ACS's and it rides and handles beautifully.
  6. I doubt that, I imagine the bulk of there sales will be for OEM and Race wheels, not the aftermarket tuner. The rate at which aftermarket alloy wheel sales has increased should be proportionate to the increase in readily available cheap/knock-off wheels, rather than a transfer from known good quality suppliers (like BBS) to cheap wheels. But yes it still would have hurt there sales to some extent.
  7. I would have them in the A direction due to the same centrifugal (or is it centripetal!?!?) reasoning behind the curved vane rotation direction. Why would you want any pad deposits, gases, whatever to be ushered to the inside of the rotor, where they can only disperse back past the rotor face!?!?! But I'm sure it doesn't matter that much either way. If the literature say's "B" then "B" it is. I'd put them on "backwards" but thats just me.
  8. Curved Vane rotors are quite different, and yes vent from the centre out so rotation direction is very important. Slotted rotors (ie. surface treatment) isn't as critical, but I'd install them with A to the front of the car. Are both rotors slotted the same direction?? or one of each for left & right sides??
  9. I remember going to look at that (out of curiosity) at a yard a few years ago. And dam 20's are huge!!!! Looks the FTB though!!!
  10. I've run T1S in a 225/45 on 16's, good size, fills the guards without being balloons. Some Dunlop DZ101's could be the go, Jimocles could probably hook you up.
  11. I've seen pics of a E30 with a S2000 engine & 6spd, was pretty kewl!!!
  12. Will do, but it's up on axles stands at the mo, can't stop fiddling with it you see!!! I'm sure your axles will suffer the same fate as mine and Darrens once that 1UZ gets in there, and the dire lack of brakes, then bring on the 5 lug conv!!!
  13. You should see it now in it's dirty track rat shoes. 17x9" M5 rears & 17x8.5" M3 rep. fronts with track rubber. It ain't pretty, but def. tough!!
  14. Hey Mike, looking good!! PM me you Ph. No. wouldn't mind checking it out over the weekend if you're around.

    PHAT M3 rims

Depends on the offset, it may just need uber wide M3 flares rather than tubs. MAkard on bf.c runs 18x10.5" with 295 slicks on M3 style guards (front & rear) E46 M3 offset also!! "Do it"
  16. Spotted this on TM, not exactly "original" but interesting!! http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/S...on-84564976.htm
  17. Then a week later it will be for sale, then it won't, then it will again. Congrat's Grant & Brooke, hope the little fella treats you well in the months ahead.
  18. Looking forward to seeing the modified chassis suspension pick-up points. I presume Mac. struts are planned for the front (camber plates in the pic), I would have thought a project this extensive would use a double whisbone setup?? How does he propose to do the rear end?? No sub-frame and partial tube frame to drop the chassis?? Raising the front control arm mounts too?? Any pic's with the GTR guards up front?? Is your 4.4l road going version going to have the GTR guards and a dropped chassis??? Wouldn't think that would be road let alone Targa friendly??? Or more along the lines of a "wide body" M3?? Sorry about the 20 Q's, I love projects and fabrication/engineering stuff. Keep the pics coming!!!!
  19. Thats tall!! What width 250's?? For comparison, I was doing just on 200 down the back straight and 210-ish down the front at Manfield and only needed to use 3rd & 4th, joys of turbo'd torque. This was on road tyres, if it had more grip (and not a muppet like me driving) out of the preceeding corners it would be quicker. The straights at Puke & Taupo are look rather daunting With the current diff it's geared for 285k in 5th, but with the E30's stunning aero and 300whp I don't think that would be possible, or a very good idea.
  20. That would probably be the most extravagant (in terms of vehicle and build cost) short of a E65 760il complete with sat.nav. to get you around the track!!! The most amusing, I think, would be a stock 1602 wagon with a GrpA or DTM E30 M3 engine, still running on steelies w/chrome trims and retreads (prolly not aloud them on the track), oh the sound, but what the ...........
  21. LOL, now thats the business!!!! What height rear tyres does it run?? 610's?? Sam, both sets of ratio's are the same!?!?! If puke is your regular, bouncing off the revlimiter down the back straight would grow rather tire-some, but fun everywhere else Mind you some 17's with taller tyres could reduce that problem a bit!!
  22. The dogleg box is a 1:1 5th is it not?? If so a 3.25 should be fine, but Gus's info suggests otherwise (unless he was still in 4th??).
  23. Are you comparing the M50B25 power to the US M(S)50B30?? or M52B28?? The M50B25 & M52B28 have the same power output 141kw Vs 142kw and torque of 250Nm & 280Nm respectively. Not disputing a 328 goes better than a 325, but def. not 30%
