  1. Seems like a overly painful way to do it brent!?!?! Did you not have the rear half of the 530 driveshaft to use?? Glad it's all going though
  2. I had a E30 (mine for he blokes) an E34 (for the Women) & a E32 (for the bride), made for a good spread & all have similar styling. Can dig out a pick if you're interested. E21, E28 & E23 would make a nice bunch also.
  3. What year is your E28?? Are you using the later rear-end?? I forget what year it changed. Any updated/cage pics?
  4. Interested!!! PM me what you want for the 4 rears.
  5. As 3pedals said, the rears are "E46 M3 ONLY" Even with the most hideously stretched tyres I still don't think they will fit as they have ~20mm too little offset. If you find another set, I'll buy the 4 rears off you
  6. I could only find these 3 easily, the other 'dodgy' tools are buried in the depths of the garage. The first is my "Deluxe Expol Cutter" that the wife operates with surgical precision. The 2nd is a custom socket a la spanner that is thinned down to get to the gearbox oil filler on the Altezza. And 3rd in the foreground are the end of my DIY string wheel alignment rig (aluminum poles & modified milk crates are not shown). I have a few 'custom' measuring tool made of & for various things, like 'modified' 1/2kg mig wire spools for measuring cutting angles inside 3" exhaust donuts.
  7. Keen, just waiting on pay day, you're not running out of stock I hope?? Also, have you got a better pic showing the attachment for the crotch straps. Do the 2 belts share the '1 belt width' loop? or is it a 'T' like with the TRS belts??
  8. Fronts won't for sure. The rear discs definitely do as I am running them, and work with the Parking brake. Not 100% on the calipers, I do know they bolt on, as I know someone running them, he had to machine the outside (of the caliper bridge) so he could run 15's (drag wheels) but not sure if he machined the disc down also to fit them?? But funnily enough I can fit E39 15's over mine with the brembo calipers.
  9. Are those Bias ratios based on piston area or rotor dia. only? E36 M3 rears also bolt on I believe 312x20mm with directional veins.
  10. Hi Kym, What is the actual prob. with your brakes at the moment? It could be a simple as new/better Pads, disc & hoses and a caliper overhaul to get the fix you need. Or an actual upgrade to the likes of E34/32 discs & calipers (to fit under 15's), as the E28 shares almost identical front & rear suspension as the E34/32's and Cain's 540is having the "shortest" 100-0kph from what ever test it was (I forget). To the more extreme requiring bigger wheels, with e39 540i rotors and a calipers to suit (from a E31 840i iirc??). Hope that helps??
  11. Here is a pick of the 'Burns' Y-collector. From: Burns Stainless Probably one of the best "off the shelf" suppliers. I gather the intent of the pic/model posted above is something along these lines. OT. Is that A2009? On Vista??
  12. If the rims are 7" or wider I'd go with 225/45 R16's That's what I used to run along time ago.

    dog box

Do you mean a REAL 'dog box'?? I won't bother asking why..... If so, there was a 4 or 5spd jerico on Trademe a while back. Plenty on eBay in the US, hundreds of ratio's to choose from and cheap/quick to change ratio and rebuild. Or there is Quaife, who do gearsets for many ZF boxes (?? about BMW cases though) or Holinger over in OZ. Nothing cheap though and most scenario's will need a custom bell housing.
  15. I'd call that a 'liftback' a 1er has a 'hatch'. Kind useful if the sedan seats don't fold down. But if you want the extra space, a touring is much cooler than a Mazda 6-erized 5er!!
  16. Weird!! Skyline GTR stylz!?! The Cert Guy should harden up!! Mine is no doubt similar to yours (ie. don't try to hold it in at the traffic lights). Did you investigate getting the MC sleeved down to reduce the pedal effort??
  17. If it were me, I'd be doing a FI M10 or M42, a relaxed 250whp should be pretty easy & pleasant to drive on the road. If it's a car you plan to use in the BMW race series (or just a non-FI purist) I'd be looking at a M50B25 or M52B28 engine (or as kerry mentioned build-up that M54 on TM), as they are not much heavier than the M20 some E21's came with and at a realistic price (unlike the S50's). Even so 250whp is going to require some $$. Not that I'm against the M30, they are a good "cheap" upgrade, but if you have the $$ the M5* engines are a better solution. Getrag 260's & 188 diff's are plenty to handle the levels of power you are talking about (Stock E30 gear). From the ETK it looks like the E21 had a 245 & maybe a 168 sized diff
  18. I would agree, looked like it had real trouble getting by the 135i at the back of the pack. You can't really tell how much he was giving it (Nanna driver?), but you'd still expect a "M" car to deal to it without much effort. Well I would for the $$$ you pay.
  19. They are BMW Style 5's made by BBS They have been on there for ages, I would have bought them if they fitted over the Brembo's
  20. Bahhh, speedo, mine doesn't work anyway, if it did, just do 95 not 100 etc... Rev Counter does just as well, oh, I forget, yours doesn't work A little roll/suppleness isn't always bad esp. if you have a stiff setup. You'll be needing something a bit wider than the 7.5" ACS for a 245, go on, you know you want some
  21. I like the look of the 50's, esp. if it was a pre-FL as they fill the guards a lot better. Personally I'd run 245/45's but have the power to justify it
