Easy enough. You just get raped on the shipping cost (unless they go on the slow boat), then you bend over a bit further if you get charged duty (17% IIRC) and again for GST. Best talk to a customs broker to see if duty is applicable as it may not be on say; 1 set for personal use, as opposed to 10 sets for resale.

That's what the OSCA class is for really, get's messy if you start effectivlely doubling up classes or spliting entries between 2, but you also don't want a class that is too restrictive, I think it's a good balance with the freedom to swap engines etc... Are you leaving things like suspension & brakes free? Other chassis mods (eg. how I've got new rear shock towers for coilovers)?? Would there be the opertunity for other engined or FI'd BMW's to enter (non-point scoring) if the fields are light?? Maybe I should find a S50 instead of going down the OSCA car path!?!?!
-
FI=Forced Induction, was easier than typing Turbocharger & Supercharger. It is sensible to limit the chassis mods, but it's a bit harsh considering the likes of Grp A M3's and SuperTourers have a free entry. It's kind of like letting high level factory built racecars compete but not one that you build yourself to a similar level. Esp. when the likes of the supertourers basically have a tube frame front end!! So it that allowed as long as the firewall is stock?? [OT] I'm contemplating a sizeable hole in the firewall at the moment Cutting and welding, sounds like fun. [/OT]

Sounds awesome. Pity no non-bmw engined cars are not allowed, but understandable. Also a pity on the firewall mods, no FI etc... but also understandable as thats what OSCA's is for I guess!!! Will these meeting be held in conjunction with the E30 Series meetings??? Same race even??

HB Gusto Got your birthday suit run sorted!?!?!

forgot:the rear subframe on the 3.2l is different to take the bigger 210 diff. rear subframe & diff (188) is the same as other 6cyl E36's on the 3.0l but output flanges are different (to go with the bigger CV's).

HB Carl, have a good one.

Have a good one Jim  Thanks for the awesome tyre deals!!!!
-
The first time I got mine on the road was just under $7k and my budget ~$5500, so not too bad. That covered: big brakes (and new MC), 16" wheels & tyres, custom IC (before all these cheap as ones flooded trademe) & custom radiator, certification. [edit] Forgot to add that also included a spare engine. [/edit] So for a stock engine/reliability and 300rwhp I was pretty happy. Of course now I've spent a shite load more, I find most of the enjoyment comes from building it myself and driving it is the cream on top.
-
Looking good Conrad. What was the reasoning behind removing the spare wheel well?? Would be perfect for a well cell!?!?! Did you get the underside media blasted?? or some hard manual labour?? How is the pedal box coming along??

Tell them you have taken a position with the opposition, usually gets you marched out pretty quick & paid out.

If I were into pimp'n my ride, I'd get another sunroof panel an mod it to mount the screen off (or make a wood/CF/fibreglass panel), effectively ditching the sunroof.
-
I've got a Airtex pump from BNT in petone, same specs as the Bosch 901. Also has larger in/out's than stock and is quite noisy. You can come and see how I mounted it if you like. ps. was ~$290 IIRC

Def. Not ROH RT'sDepends what you want them for, for track wheels they would be fine esp. @ $80. http://www.anzwheels.co.nz/application/sto...=0&wheel=467712
-
Got my eye on those on Tardme, $80pr. I think they are VT replica's from some company, got the link at work.
-
You get them from time to time Something like Andrews 3.46 medium case should be what you are looking for. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...on-56702643.htm
-
If the diff in your ti is a medium (unlikely) then yes, you can swap the ring/pinnion from the E36 328 casing (also Medium). The ratio for a 5spd ti is 3.38, I think Brent has one of these. But these are small case diff's and won't last long if abused, may be OK behind the auto though??

Hi Steve, good to see you on the Kiwi BMW forum these days. Any updates on the 520i?? There are a few people on here wanting to turbo their BM's so you may need to share some of your expert advise when the threads pop up. As Tim said, Welcome, and leave the dirty shoes at the door. Glenn ps. Bought that Holset HX35 in the end ex.US.

Sounds bloody good Andrew, looking forward to it.
-
Well he made a good job of it!!! $13400 seems like a bit of a bargin really.
