Spam sucks @ss. I probably get 50/50 spam vs real email at work. At home Zone Alarm picks up 95% of it. Kerry the redirection would be funny for about a day, then chances are the recipient's ISP would idenfity you as a spam source & shut down your account.

RvT that looks like some excellent info. I particularly like the ability to gauge the quality of the vehicle, thats something we can't even accurately determine sometimes on NZ new cars sitting on the lot especially if buying sight-unseen (I bought my previous vehicle from Akld without having seen it). 1. Sucks to be hit, even if its by the cops. Hopefully you can get the repairs done at the repairer of your choice, but you are somewhat at the mercy of the cops without insurance of your own. 2. If you can't afford to insure your car, you can't afford the car. Simple as that... its like petrol. Get a minimum of TP cover right away. 3. The whole reason we have ACC is to prevent people pursuing medical costs through liability. Thats why the American system is so screwed, sue for $5M for a bit of whiplash.

And leaving other valuables in the car...Alarm with glass break sensor woulda helped too. Were they tinted windows? Because that makes it a little harder to break in. Other valuables yes, but radar detectors in particular are a very 'liquid' commodity, they are easy to sell for cash on the black market & thieves will go looking for them.Radar detector on the dash is more attractive than a laptop on the front seat.

Personal opinion = Trash it for parts & buy something else. If your primary concerns are costs & looks maybe Bimmers aren't the right thing for you at the moment.

Yeah they're all scum. But leaving a radar detector in a car on the street is like leaving a pile of $20 bills on the dash... begging for it.

To be honest I think I prefer the E46. The E90 is boring in comparison, especially the interior. Perhaps when the MSport version comes out it will be better. I'm considering trading my wheels on a very similar 2002 M330i sedan.
