  1. In order for an accident to occur in most cases the driver has to be distracted. Is this just another way of criminalising yet more of the generally law abiding public? Remember there are such things as "Accidents" the cops are already too trigger happy with careless driving charges.
  2. I think we've done the M3 vs M badged 3-series to death now, but here's me: My car is a 318, 2.0L. Bought from the dealer, ex-BMW corporate car with ~7,000km on the clock. It had the model badge deleted, and the //M emblem on the back. M-sport suspension, stock engine, M-sport steering wheel, rear lip spoiler, etc. Summary: I didn't put an M badge on, it was there from the factory. After 10 days of owning the car, the //M badge has been ripped off by some gimp, no other damage to the car. I haven't replaced it since (that was 2 years ago). What do you guys think?
  3. Sic, I saw this the other weekend & had to take the picture. Classic {edit- resize picture for your viewing pleasure}
  4. m3chk perhaps you should just communicate with grunts & hand signals like neolithic man. UUhhh! Urrgh! It really takes no extra effort to type legibly. Honestly.
  5. Try this translation website in the future: http://babelfish.altavista.com/ It provides an approximate translation for common languages including english, french, german, spanish, italian, etc.
  6. I don't know about that autobase site... Eg- there is a 2002 M3 convertible "turbo" for sale, 8,000km, $15K from someone named "John Wane" Yeah, right.

Loved him almost taking out the innocent driver in the Corolla. Deserves everything thats coming to him.
  10. I guess you can consider yourself having received a knee to the i-groin.Bem-on is it still running hard? Or does your username imply that its a lemon.

Far more likely for an insurance company to decline cover for a modified vehicle. Not having a WOF in itself doesn't usually give cause for an insurance company to decline cover for a claim, it depends on whether it contributed to the incident. EG- having tyres that are below minimum tread requirements should have no bearing on whether a claim for theft is accepted. However if you run into the back of someone because your crappy tyres are bald then they might turn you down.
  12. Seeing as we are all giving our opinions here... I think you were both being dicks. Without your 'followup' the accident wouldn't have happened. Clearly the other driver was outside the capabilities of his car and his ability to control it. In my mind you were jointly responsible. Remember that case in the papers not long ago where two 'boy racers' were racing on public roads, one had an accident (a girl racer I think, killed themselves) the other driver was done for reckless driving causing death. Very uncool. At the end of the day be glad that only cars & pride were damaged.
  13. DNZ were you around in the time of the 'blue investment plates' ?? Marvelous marketing scheme... and so many people suckered into it. An investment that has no tangible assets behind it, with only a perceived second hand market will usually fail.
  14. Happy to help out, though not sure if being a committee member is tenable outside of Akld.
  15. Doesn't do it for me. I've test driven the 320D and the 330i, and they're fine to drive, but not the pizazz that I would have expected. That M-sport edition is a bit of a disappointment too actually. That front spoiler just looks wrong, for some reason reminds me of the fugly new Impreza. I also get the Maxima-Accord feeling about the styling. E46 Msport is hot, as is the E34 Msport. These new ones have fallen short of the 'marque' in my opinion. Although the 'new' 5 & the facelift 7 are starting to grow on me... I don't think my next wheels will be an E90.
  16. Asians seem to go for white BMWs for some reason... try selling your white 5'er in Auckland and it will probably be turned into a taxi cab within a week. Colour does have a bearing on value. There was a purple 911 on a yard here for months. Silver one sold within a couple weeks. Go to the USA and using the online value estimators your car has differing values depending on colour.
  17. OK for those of who want to vomit, check out what colour Fiji Green is: http://users.belgacom.net/ddddv/colors/413.jpg And Jazzbass yes I believe that 30-40% of new BMWs are one particular colour: Titanium Silver.
  18. Don't make me come over there...
  19. I also hate people who brag about cars they don't own.
  20. I think he means E30, not E90, there hasn't been an M version of the E90 released yet.
  21. This is the second post you've made where your car has "pwnd" you. I think I'm beginning to guess why you chose that name.
  22. Not sure if they have a chassis straightening machine at the Surgery, they probably do. I've heard no complaints about either one. Blair Wright is probably one of the most expensive in town, but they also do a very good job. Try Arlington Motors in Newtown. Do you have a geographical preference? Does it need to be insurance friendly?
  23. Not much of a gambler here. I see the sad individuals that empty buckets of $0.20 into machines at the pub... was even worse before they banned smoking. Went into a casino in Brisbane last time I was there, and it was pretty boring actually. *Yawn* "Gambling is a tax for people who are bad at maths."
  24. Wait, tell me how this WASN'T funny? Its almost the pure definition of irony. Glad to hear you got it sorted in the end.
  25. What do you mean?Winston is still on on the list vote, and so is Jeanette (who never actually campaigned in her home electorate, but concentrated instead on the party vote)...at this stage anyway. I'n not a fan of the Green Party, but feel they have a legitimate say and should be represented in a minor way. I am glad Winston is still in, he is after all, underneath it all a good politician, and does do a good job of keeping the other politicians honest. Cheers Grant What I mean is that neither one won an their electorate. If they had not made the 5% threshold neither party would be in parliament. Jeanette wasn't even 2nd placed in Coromandel, and Winston lost by a nose in Tauranga despite the opponent being an alleged sexual deviant. That puts them both in an awkward position. In terms of the Greens, yes there are elements to the party that have a place in a modern Society, but regretfully a large part of the greens are rather extremist (eg- support bio-terrorism, stone-age economic policies etc.) that will be very bad for NZ if they are in a cabinent position. They have stated they want 2 cabinet postings in order to form part of the government. Even as a National supporter, I would rather have a Labour majority government than a weakened Labour having to pander to the Greens for supply votes.
