  1. I've got my wires crossed. The local Mobil 98 advertises it's self as a ethanol blend. Have been using Mobil 98 mainly and some BP ultimate 98. Thanks for putting me right.
  2. Local BP here runs 98 with a ethanol mix. Use it in both the M3 and the Duc without issue. M3 will pink on inclines running on 95. My old e30 323i would also pink less on 98 . Ethanol is good for keeping heads / bores clean from what I've read.

    For real or not

Exhaust shape looks similar to a Remus system. Mirrors look like the right shape Mind you we have a 520i down this way with no body kit , standard rims and M5 badges.
  4. I reckon the last of the hand built m cars the e34 3.8 should be further up the list. The other which is missing is the x6m. Needs to be on your bucket list in terms how quick a heavy vehicle can move. Add snow or low traction surfaces and this will deal to any other m car. Same power as stillborn M8
  5. You'd all be proud Stated at 515pm , finished at 5:57 pm Got her something to eat , something to drink , something to wear , some bling . Not bad for a procrastinator eh. Was touch and go I can tell ya. Mind you, wife did let me go shopping at the last minute. Been a full on day !
  6. Not sure what a mk 1 hu is but you have a couple options with the looms and if either don't suit ebay has the other combinations. Check out YouTube to get the basics of the install. It's largely plug and play.
  7. So two days left ..... What to get the wife ......
  8. I haven't worked out how to integrate the sprinkler in pic 3. Got me stumped
  9. Pic 2 plugs into parrot module Pic 3 piggy backs onto radio harness plug at back of radio or tuner module Will need power connection and also you'll need to install the mic either up by mic insert next to front interior lamp or clip to drivers side sun visor
  10. Happy wife = happy life ...... Just think of the cost and pain if she's not ...... Spend up large guys , bit like a service , we hate spending the money , yet you know it's a better strategy in the long run. Otherwise it's half of everything and finding your prized collection on trademe for $1 buy now
  11. Be thankful we're not in the states. Been following a couple of stereo install threads where people cut holes in the crumple zones or cut into cross members in the name of car audio. Quite like NZ WOF standards as a result. e.g. M3 Rear deck http://s1117.photobucket.com/user/Wicks303/media/M3%20Build/489deckholebigger_zpsfebb882e.jpg.html E46 front foot well http://s946.photobucket.com/user/zacinstalls2/media/E46%20328i/IMG_0859_zps2340aead.jpg.html Either way ,some people are either too cheap (Airbag pressure sensor by pass) or too stupid to own these cars. Makes you think when you purchase your next car ..... what has the previous owner done.
  12. As per title , after Bluetooth antenna and aerial cable for e46 coupe install.

    E39 AV

It's via the tv module in the back of the car. The connector have no termination pins so you'll need to get two quad lock pins for video and two for mono audio or get av adaptor leads from bimmernav
  14. White wire should have been tapped rather than cut would be my guess. The factory amp isn't getting a remote on signal hence no speaker out signal to your sub amp
  15. The telephone module was a Jbit. I did find the wiring colour match on WDS which I suspect is down to year and options on the car. I've double checked the and mapped out the functions. So far all the pin position movements are as per the PDF not withstanding the colour differences. Just double checking the eject box as I'm modding it to fit an Iphone 5. Looks like your right on the vics aerial , it has two diversity aerial connections for AM/FM reception and an additional coax input for the beacon antenna aerial. Looks like the beacon aerial is for 5.8 ghz which is twice the wavelength of Bluetooth. May try the sharkfin aerial in a meantime and order the standard Bluetooth antenna. pics
  16. Nice thing about the Alpine stacker used in the e39 is they have a digital coax output. Put a decent DAC on the other end and you'll get audiophile output into the rest of the system your going to build with the convenience of your factory controls. BTW , you did try the adjusting the worm gear cogs via the screw plate next to the motor ? Check out some of the Dacs on hifimediy (Sabre chipsets ) or the MiniDSP range of dacs. (Oem supplier to a few car audio companies)
  17. Cheers Dean For some reason my e46 has different colours in the loom compared to the PDF. I take it the basis of this one was e39 ? Take your note of the vics front antenna. I thought id read somewhere it was 2.4 GHz device.

    eeewwww

For an "older" falla I quite like it. Reminds me of the ps3 need for speed e46 m3 that was for sale when I lived in London in 2006. Just needs a v10 transplant.
  19. These are the infra red type of keys. With the darker jap glass they work best through side windows or front windscreen. You also need to be in line of site of the clown nose with is the red plastic lenses under your rear view mirror. That is where the infrared receiver is.
  20. Brought a Ulf for Bluetooth and voice navigation . My E46 has the Japan telephone interface and eject box and still has the vics aerial. I intend to reuse use the vics aerial for Bluetooth. Was reading a guide on a Ulf conversion on a e39 and noticed the wiring loom colours are different. Does anyone know if the pin positions are the same regardless of colours ? If not has anyone mapped the Japan telephone wiring interface on the e46 ? Would save me the time of going through the WDS diagrams to map old to new.. If not I'll write it up.
  21. Don't mention tyres then ...... d'oh ..... to late.
  22. I've been known to give non smg owners a bit of education. Hard to go back to cars with a manual clutch after owning one.
  23. Anything that blocks heat dissipation from the calliper should be banned. A Darwinist accessory if I've every seen one. Fashion meets stupidity.
  24. Same colour ..... nice car. Did you notice the re55s run out are around half price at the moment ? roughly 1400 per set. Cheaper and stickyer than re11 s !
  25. Looking like an interesting sub you've got. Found this video to be a good demo on how to do the front in fiberglass. Has a good way of producing the baffle. Second link is a youtube channel which is great for the guys ideas and techniques http://youtu.be/G8cz_ http://www.youtube.com/user/CarAudioFabrication/videos
