  1. hah the url is nzplates.com not plates.co.nz, i registered it myself to sell these... nothing dodgy about that!
  2. Thanks guys. Would look brilliant on your cars, like they were made for them edit; wow cale, you're one post away from a grand! respond!!! haha
  3. heh heh that is an awesome avatar BMWE36. Well im only 19 so that should answer your questions; i havent been collecting them very long, im not old and i couldnt afford to pay megabucks.
  4. no, i didnt actually get it done myself so dont have the sheet- and i dont think my garage keeps that kinda thing on file they're usually lucky to the invoice with the month! I kinda need to carry speed thru corners, its only a 318i! it may take forever to get back on boil!
  5. Haha unfortunately not. but next to "8M3" which is listed on plates.co.nz in resale for $5500 ONO, my plates look like a bargain. and thats just one example. Brokering plates seems quite popular...
  6. About $2.5K? would look pretty awesome on an M3 so i reckon thats about right. In no hurry to sell...
  7. Just had an either brilliant or stupid idea (its most likely bordering either extreme) im going to go play some gran turismo 4 in order to try and understand the effects of adjustment (because if you go for aftermarket suspension in the game you can adjust all that, right?) and the simulation seems accurate enough?? Real life experience still welcome!!!
  8. thanks for the quick replies guys.. yeah i meant springs not shocks, long day... I seem to remember ollie reviewing albany tyreworx and saying they knew their stuff, may have to go down there and discuss it.. i will definitely post up the results of adjustment. I know its a bit of a guessing game considering i dont have the figures but any input in regards to what it should be at would be appreciated. The H&R's are 35mm lowering springs btw. Cheers Tom
  9. lol one of the first checks i did too carfax is such a great resource
  10. Ive had this problem for a while but have pretty much been ignoring it- i have had H&R shocks *springs in my 318i for maybe 10 months now, once they went in the handling was sweet as, great feel and turn in, really planted at the front. Awhile back i got Bilstein shocks fitted and at the same time they did a wheel alignment on it. I vaguely remember glancing the sheet and seeing they removed a bit of camber and toe out. Ever since it has felt a bit looser at the front, more likely to understeer (which is not exactly confidence inspiring) and a bit lighter steering (i don't have power steering but like the challenge ). So to cut to the chase basically what i am asking is firstly am i right in thinking this is entirely the fault of the wheel alignment being done, and secondly can i have another alignment done to restore it to my preferred setup? Im not totally clued up in this department so any input on safety aspects, other contributing factors would be greatly appreciated. If the alignment setup is purely for tyre saving like getting an extra 1000k's from the rubber then id rather have the added fun. Cheers Tom
  11. Spotted in Link Drive, Wairau this afternoon - 3STYL immaculate grey e30 mtech2 325i... is this anyone on here? Such a beautiful car looks like new
  12. nice car, sounds like you've got some interesting plans for it. The black grilles are nice, side markers too, everything else is... distinctive. I guess my personal preference is the super subtle upgrades, but your car will definitely stand out. Will be interesting what style of mags you put on it. Now to up the power and do all those ///M Badges proud!
  13. source? hah don't mean to have you on about it, but seems a bit far fetched for bureaucracy. Far too generous. Wishful thinking, probably. Or maybe mixed up with when the black fern europlates were released.
  14. good point gannetboy. But then you'd have to go for a new plate to replace it and get a set of govt issue E@@### plates that would lose the classic look entirely. Doesnt seem to be a way around it unfortunately.
  15. the closest i know is getting one made by Autoplates.com, they do europlates with black background and silver font, shouldnt get any problems but they aren't legal per se. Pretty unfortunate for your brother. To get a legal plate it would have to be white with the new font, land transport registry doesn't issue anything other than those and personalised plates.
  16. also 49, another who is the lively centre of attention. Maybe its a bmw owner thing???
  17. never seen anything about this car before, but i like what i see: Stillborn : 1989 BMW M5 Convertible These days BMW's M division is pretty busy, cranking out all manner of sport-tuned models in every form. You can get an M3 as a coupe, convertible or sedan, the M5 in sedan or wagon form, and the M6 as either a coupe or a convertible, in addition to M versions of the Z4. But back in the late '80s, the selection of M cars was much more limited. Not that the engineers in the sporting division weren't trying, though. Case in point is this M5 cabrio prototype that almost made it into production, but was canceled at the last minute. Starting with an E34-generation M5 sedan, engineers in Munich chopped off the roof, strengthened the chassis and replaced the four doors with two longer ones. (If you think the idea is entirely absurd, just look at the Audi A4 cabrio and its quattro GmbH-tuned versions.) The resulting M5 convertible prototype was actually scheduled to debut at the 1989 Geneva Motor Show and even priced at £50k for the British market, but fearing that its addition to the BMW line-up would create demand for a conventional 5-series convertible and subsequently harm sales of the existing 3-series cabrio, BMW executives decided to kill the project. Only one prototype of the M5 convertible was made bearing ZS license plates from the BMW Individual program, as you can see in the Gallery. [sourced from Autoblog.com]
  18. Garage419 have done their own head-to-head g-tech vs. dynolicious testing on a dyno and at a 1/4mile track and concluded its more accurate than the g-tech meter. Pretty impressive! video after the .

    evo4 overheating

it could be simple, or something more sinister... have you checked all the coolant hoses and hose clamps? thats where to start... look for hoses mis-shaped and swollen or cracked, and loose clamps or where the hose is not securely on. Hope that helps Cheers Tomo
