  1. Hi everyone! Just a quick intro here, my name is Ruel. Owner, operator, destroyer of this little e30, ex 318i. Brief modification list: -Apexi turbo timer -Turbosmart 2 stage electronic boost -Turbosmart 38mm external wastegate -T3/t4 turbo re-cored to holset 35r 500hp -D1spec fuel pressure reg -Autogauge boost gauge 2" shadow -Alpine stereo 2013 -HKS fuel rail -HKS clear cam cover -550cc injectors -New rear shocks and coil overs -Custom oil catch tank -OBX lightened cam pulley -OBX "Hellfire" 2 stage blow off valve + trumpet -2 x 1" spacers 4x100 57.1mm hub centric int, 56.1mm outer. -70mm throttle body -Recaro reclinable seats + rails + sliders -Apexi safc neo -Apexi RSM -3" straight through exhaust -2x Blue 12" radiator fans Probably still more that I've missed on this list the project is never over! More to go and I'll post it as I go along. Suspension upgrades. Bushings. Etc still need to be done. I haven't exposed my car much since a majority of completion, my first outing was part of street culture meet and greet. Link below https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nYiJTzdV3fA Thanks everyone! Looking to be part of Bimmersport more. Great crew! Ps any stickers? Lol Here's more photos also: Peace out peeps !
  2. Over working on my car and not really in a position to keep taking it to pieces which is a real shame. It has only recently become apparent to me how much I just need to have a cheap run about instead of using my project car as a means to get from A to B so hence why I am seriously but reluctantly going to try to sell this. I have spent some hours on it so I wouldn't be happy with just giving it away so if I don't get the right price I will just hold on to it and probably park it up somewhere until I can be bothered to take the project back on and get it really nice, that may be some time though. I thought I might have a couple of decent pictures of it lying around but only this at the moment: The body work is pretty good although there are a few scratches here and there, the paint on the roof and the rear doors back has faded. It has a new engine with 132,xxx Kms on it. Radiator is new Engine oil recently done Brake rotors have been resurfaced Power steering fluid Steering bushing replaced New Brake fluid New gear box oil converted to manual (Getrag 240) Crackless dash in great condition. Battery retro fit relocated to boot 2 sets of wheels, tires. Lowered rear suspension and camber (untastefully low, not done by me. Not sure about the front) Sub, amp, 6x9's and head unit I will try and get some better pictures and some more information if anyone on here is actually interested. I thought I would start on bimmersport as I have the old engine and some spare parts I wouldn't mind getting rid of with the car if it does sell. So an enthusiast might be after the whole lot who knows. Anyway cheers.
  3. hey my car turns over but wont start, i took it into the shop and they replaced the distributor rotor because they thought it was that, and the first day i got my car back a few hours later it wouldnt start again. it started the other day fine and was driving round a few days because it was starting now it wont start again. please help its a 1983 bmw e30 320i
  4. Hey people, I've done something kinda dumb - long story, won't bore you but I fed a hook through a hole in the sheet metal just below the boot latch (body side) then closed the boot. It won't open now of course, doesn't matter whether locked or not and the central locking appears to be still working via key and from unlocking at the front doors... I believe the lock mechanism itself is fine, but the hook is obstructing the release of the catch. Two questions: do any of you know a way into an e28 boot that doesn't involve cutting?! wall behind the back seat is solid steal. do any of you have a boot lid that I can buy if I have get the tin opener out? e30 boots are apparently identical. Colour is light metalic blue. It's one of those ridiculous problems... Of course the boot was/is full of camping gear and food for the weekend just gone by... Cheers
  5. THANKS FOR INTEREST SHOWN - NOW SOLD Hi, the Mrs's 1988 E30 Coupe Auto failed the WOF yesterday - some corrosion on the drivers AFrame and rear of the car, its run flawlessly for the 3 years we have had it but its time to upgrade I think so dont want to spend the cash getting it through its WOF. It's an easy fix for someone if you can do it I guess also theres some decent parts on it if it were to be dismantled. E36 ti black leather interior fitted a couple of years ago, MSpec 3 spoke steering wheel, factory cross spoke Alloys - if anyone is interested or come and look and make an offer, it''ll drive away as theres never been any issue with it, 0211 552 690 if interested, cheers Alan - PS in Auckland, Remuera/Meadowbank - THANKS FOR INTEREST SHOWN - NOW SOLD

Hey lads and ladies Looking for a clean rust free e30 shell, wanting pre facelift coupe or touring Im planing on doing a engine swap so engine and gear box aren't necessary ... neither is a diff. Ideally would be wanting a shell with most of the manual gear in it eg, pedalbox and master cylinder nd sh*t but not to fused. Am willing to buy a full car (eg running and wofd) if it has all the bits i want and is mint condition on the out side... cbf painting it. cheers ace Will also add that if theres any e12 or e28 shells out there ... I WANT ONE
  7. since I bought my e30 last year, i've been really eager on removing the universal type antenna installed as it doesn't retract and it's not fitted properly but i can't find an original replacement(second-hand of-course). I don't listen that much on AM/FM so the replacement is just for cosmetics, I've seen a couple but they're always missing the important bits. After checking forums I decided to just go with rubber plugs. it took me a while but I was finally able to get an alternative from Supercheap. 1" blank grommet, it's a tad bigger than what i need as antenna hole is ≈22MM(7/8" will be a better fit) but it's the only size available in the store here's how it sits now
  8. Has any one got a cheap one for an e30 face lift? Its the plastic surround that fits in between the tail lights, I'm after the wider euro type as I think they top off the look of the rear really nicely. Cheers
  9. Feel free to ask me any questions. Cheers Nick
  10. Just looking for some seats for my e30 2 door if anyone has any that would be great
  11. We need a pair of 20mm hubcentric spacers (preferably bolt on) for an e30. Center bore size is 57.1 and 4x100 pcd. The recess in the bak of the spacer, which centralizes on the hub, needs to be deeper than the standard 10mm that most spacers are as bmw hubs stick out more (13mm in our case i think). Have been hunting everywhere and coming up short. And we need them before the 4&rotor jamboree so ASAP!!!! Message me if anyone has any for sale
  12. My beautiful 325i for sale about two months ago did a full service at BM Workshop. Had the oil sump replaced, cambelt changed and a new computer also put in. Car has been covered for all of my ownership and the previous owner was an elderly man who also kept in the garage. The engine is super clean as the first owner got it from SA and completely brought it to almost new condition. The car is a manual and it flies with the 6 cylinder engine. Full leather interior. Come take a look and a test drive if you have proof of funds. Looking for 7000.
  13. Hey all, The viscous fan on my e28 ETA is not engaging fully anymore so rather than replacing it I thought I might remove it and fit an electric fan instead. Has anyone done something like this / have suggestions for fitting a fan from a later model? Any thoughts on it very welcome. I'm not the most electrically literate but I think I could sort it with the right advice.. Tom
  14. After a winder for my sunroof (car: 525e E28 but I suspect the same was found on e30s from the 80s too) They commonly break apparantly. I pretty much just need the handle and what ever rotating parts etc, spring/clip comes with it. Am in Dunedin but I'll pay for freight... Not looking to spend too much - it's a Scottish ancestry thing Tom
  15. Hey guys, On the lookout for some Coilovers for an E30, Thanks

  17. just got a 1990 e30 318i, and has a slightly major problem with it. unable to select any of the bottom row of gears. pretty much, the linkage is too beaten up from the right shape, so does anyone have one that will fit?
  18. Hey guys, just after some leather seats for my 318i e30, 1989. It currently has just stock seats in them that are in insanely good condition but leather looks a lot sexier! If you know of anyone selling please let me know.
  19. Hello all. New member with a love of the old e30's. I have an '89 320i. Have done easy mechanical bits (changed belts etc), but it's dropping oil & my possibilities to fix it are limited in both experience & ability. Any of you guys know of a mechanic i can go to in Christchurch who will make all my mechanical issues vanish? Was thinking to have an engine / transmission overhaul. Any leads appreciated. Cheers James
  20. Hi, I have an m50b25 single vanos (e36) and am slowing rebuilding it as I can afford parts. (for my e30) I need to remove the head, so I put cylinder 1 at TDC. I did this and saw that the journals on the end of the camshafts were not completely square with the block (arrow on exhaust sprocket wasn't perpendicular either)... so I couldn't get the locking tool on properly. So for some reason I decided to take the vanos off to see if it would make a difference - it made it worse. Can anyone advise me how to remove the head now that the timing is out - and how to time the cams when I come to put the head back on. Thanks!
