  1. Hey guys. I've found another project car, so up for sale is my beautiful E39 540i Msport on genuine BBS wheels. This car has an amazing history of maintenance and receipts totalling $25k+ Car has done 188,000kms, this will go up as its my daily. Major things that have been replaced/repaired are: - The tiptronic trans has been rebuilt - $5k receipt - Cooling system has been replaced - $2k receipt ** Timing chain tensioner has been replaced - this is an important one, not many E39's for sale out there that have had this taken care of. - Belts have been done within the past couple of years. It's very tidy inside and out and drives beautifully. The leather is in great condition. Has the factory head unit but has had after market speakers, amp and sub installed, sounds very good. All windows work, sunroof works perfectly and the rear pop up blind works great too. A previous owner has installed an oil catch can and deleted the rear muffler, the car sounds lovely with a few pops and crackles on decel, but not obnoxious. Things that I would look into if I were to keep the car are: - Very slow oil leak - I think this is coming from around where the oil catch can has been installed, if not it's probably a seal. The amount of oil is very little. 3.9k ONO. Test drives are welcome and encouraged. Car is located in Glenfield. --- Note: car will come on BBS wheels in the first image. Cheers.
  2. http://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=1292647636 $20K, 112KM - BMW 740Li M-Sport AC Schnitzer 2005 - and lots of extras. I know it's not cool to like E65s - but I think this is a damned nice car.
  3. Hey guys up for sale is my E36 msport manual coupe. Reason for sale is I have too many cars and the wifey isn't happy. Details: 270,000kms Leather interior with the sought after leather doorcards (in fantastic condition, no peeling) Has near new M3 bilstein's (done less than 5,000kms) Can come with the Rieger GT front lip, but needs repairs as it's been cracked in two (debris on motorway took it off) Drives beautifully, no mechanical issues, gearbox is smooth with no crunches. Cons: Headliner is sagging as is usual with most E36's Drivers side window not working, needs new reg/motor Steering wheel leather is starting to crack, could do with a replacement. $6,500 ono, reasonable offers considered, may be interested in swaps + cash my way (just don't tell the wife ). Will come with Wof and Rego for new owner. Note: comes with ACS wheels, not the Style 42's as seen in photo 3. Cheers.

  5. Interesting piece of local BMW history ... "This was once the BMW NZ director’s company car and .... was sold new for nearly $200k to BMW New Ze3aland Management and we have original invoice of purchase price and original manuals with service history." $20K with 167Kms on it... very well spec'ed. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1156064998.htm
  6. Set of 4 replica ACS Type 2s in 17x8.5 et13. No ACS or Ronal markings anywhere. Actually, no manufacturers markings! They are stamped JWL. (For details of JWL, see here. These were on Miss M's E36 when we bought it - et13 is not the best fit , although to be honest there was very little rubbing. Arches have been rolled to fold the inner lip, but as far as I can tell, that is all. Lips on all 4 rims have been kerbed, and rather than refurbish them, someone has painted the whole rim instead. (I think it is paint rather than plasticoat.) They look pretty good until you inspect them closely, at which point the grazing and suchlike is evident. No massive chunks missing - just untidy. Tyres fitted are all 215/45ZR17: 2x virtually brand new Vitora Sportlife. 7mm++ tread 1x Michelin Pilot Preceda. 3mm tread, slightly less at the edges. 1x Bridgestone Potenza RE05A. Less tread than the Michelin and showing edge wear, but still just about usable. It passed a WoF. I suspect the Michelin and Bridgestone have been run under pressure as there is more wear on both inside and outside edges. Given the size of the rim and the tyres fitted, I had expected them to feel much heavier. According to the bathroom scales, each rim and tyre combo comes in around 20.5kg. Collection in Te Kauwhata or Manukau, delivery for a small consideration in the local area. If national transport can be arranged via the forum, I'll help out with that but would much prefer to not get into courier shipping if that can be avoided. Need 'em gone, and need some money for new tyres for the E46! (Especially now Miss M has commandeered the Style 73s.) $350. From what I can find, genuine are worth $6-800. I think these would be around 50% of that.
  7. I have a set of 4 genuine ACS Type 2 rims, 17x8 H2 et38, from an E36 coupe. I was going to fit them to the E46 Touring, but Mrs M isn't keen and I still have the Style 73s which do meet with approval. The inside of one spoke on each rim has AC Schnitzer cast into it; another spoke has Ronal. Tyres are 3 Maxtrek Ingens A1 with 6mm tread (please check 'em for yourself) and one Kumho Ecsta, all in 215/45-ZR17. The Kumho has camber wear on the inner edge but would pass a WoF without issue; again, it has ~6mm tread. Rims are all original and have not been refurbished. They have the original AC Schnitzer film logo on the outside of one spoke - I contacted ACS about this and unfortunately the films are NLA. The rims would have been painted, the logo applied, and clearcoat over the top. You can't feel a lip or bump where the logo is. All 4 rims have some kerbing and would benefit from being dressed. Perhaps this could be done without a full refurb, so the logos could be retained? Full set of 4 AC Schnitzer centre caps, too. I'll post some pics in a bit. I could bring to Kyu's tomorrow if anyone is interested? Price... Hmm. I've seen the Maxtrek Tyres offered at $155 each, so s/h the 4 would be... $250? Rims... Jason had some without kerbing or tyres and was looking at around $600. (Don't know what happened there.) How about $550 for the set of 4, with tyres and centres? Make me an offer.
  8. Thinking of moving on my beautiful 540i to explore other opportunities (an E31!!). Many of you know the car. Those that do will know how much I've spent on the car and how fussy I am. It's in immaculate condition as you can see from the pics. Here's a quick run down of what I've done but feel free to look at my project log and showroom pics for more info: 184,000kms (good for many, many more!) Runs like a dream and idles perfectly from cold and it's genuinely quick (you're welcome to cold start test) Paint is immaculate Genuine xenon facelift headlights Genuine AC Schnitzer wing mirrors ACS replica roof spoiler CF front splitters Refurbished black leather interior and m-sport steering wheel De-cat and custom free flow exhaust (vid below for sound!) Most of the trim inside an out has been refurbished or replaced All new door and windscreen seals within the last 12 months Complete double vanos procedure completed (by Ray's team at HellBM) - this was done as preventative maintenance and was a major job All valve cover and upper timing case gaskets and seals replaced at the same time Has had recent smoke test and no vac leaks Transmission has had full service less than 3,000kms ago Oil change when I stripped and powder coated valve covers less than 1,000kms ago AFE dry air filter Emissions (secondary) air pump removed so no cold start noise/issues Brake calipers removed, cleaned and repainted s/s brake lines and race brake fluid Brand new OEM rotors all round and EBC redstuff pads less then 2,000kms ago Pictured with fully refurbished staggered (8.5" front 9.5" rear) 18" BBS RSII wheels - however may sell with staggered 18" deep dish BBS RX 502s Has performance tune and Dinan tuned trans s/w (which makes the auto transmission a LOT more enjoyable) It has a small oil leak from the rear crankcase seal. I've ordered the parts to repair this and can do it prior to sale or knock a bit off sale price and give the buyer the parts to repair themselves. The car looks and drives brilliantly. I'm not wholly committed to selling yet as I've invested a lot of time and money into the car but will do it if the offer is righ. Not looking to get what it owes me (because it would be absurdly priced if I did) but think it is worth at least $12K (it's insured for $14K). If you drive it you will not be disappointed and, I know everyone says this, but I think you'll be hard pressed to find a better one for that price, even with lower kms. I also have a supercharger kit for the engine that I've not yet installed. Not that keen to sell but may part with it for the right money. Make me an offer for either or both. Exhaust:
