*Glenn* 855 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 What are you going to do about all the overspray John ?... looks like the guy who painted it went berserk
e30ftw 410 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 He just didn't bother masking the subframe when he was prepping the engine bay. Not too worried. Can easily clean it off and paint the subframe etc.

e30ftw 410 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 Some Douche put a jack there and would have tried to jack the car. I bought it like that lol. Can't really straighten it up, I tried to but it is pretty hard. It's only the radiator support anyways.

*Glenn* 855 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 When you go to put the motor in John, don't try doing it with that jack. Raise the car and get the motor and box under the car, make sure its safe on axle stands, then lift it into place with an engine lifter and use a jack under the gearbox crossmember
e30ftw 410 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 Haha of course not man, Already one step ahead of you. I have swapped in / out an m20 with gearbox 3 times. But not at my house though, cos we never had a hoist. My mate managed to sort me one that I can use for however long I want. Just sitting there waiting

e30ftw 410 Report post Posted February 4, 2010 Getting started on the m50 now.. e36 Oil pan removed Oil pump removed. e34 (top) vs e36 (bottom) sumps. Comparing the pumps, they are identical and I would have saved abit of effort by just switching that long pickup tube that runs to the rear with the e34 pickup. Doh. e30ftw 410 Report post Posted February 5, 2010 (edited) Haha yeah it was up as high as my jack would lift the car so if it didn't fit under I would have been screwed. It barely scraped through from underneath. Now just gotta lift it up and bolt it in. Was gonna have it in today but CBF.
