Post up a picture of your first car

Recommended Posts

It doesn't need to be the exactly of your car but model and colour should help.

Ill go first. Mr Hanky, car edition. Cut the springs and chucked a fart canon on the back. Uh yea, I was tough.

I had a Toyota Carib, identical to this in every way. I had massive subs and badass bitches in it at all times. I was the arab in the carib.

1993 Ford Telstar.

Crashed it on Bridge Street in Hamilton, and replaced it with another one.

Some good memories of it, some bad memories but it was reliable at least.

Mk 1 Escort in classic yellow , for some reason if you turned the lights on the motor would cut out and I had this massive holly carb on it. Not my actual car but this was the first pic I came across.

This!

1989 NZ New 325i E30 - that's where it all began..

Posted Image

Even had it on some BBS RS243s for a while (as in half a day, because I was too tight/poor to replace the massive tyres on them so that it was driveable)

First car I drove (legally) was my mum's...

I did everyone a favour and crashed it (nearly killing myself and my best mate in the process).

The first car I owned was one of these. Exactly the same colour except mine had ridiculous 10" mags and [badly] homemade flares:

87 VL - 3L manual RWD!! bought from a newspaper sight unseen. Exceeded all expectations, it was as new condition single owner etc - old mate was genuinely excited it was my first car and sold it too me way too cheap & gave it to me with a full tank of gas, new wiper blades, year rego new wof etc etc - Good bugger.

looked the same as this when I got it - added mags and boom boom in the boot

Posted Image ... HEY It's my first car! doing drifts with the 3spd auto and going sideways more often than it should... bent the car in a ditch 3 years after.. looks like someone brought it back to life and put a new front end on it.

My first car 92 318i with 280,000kms when I bought it (I was year 11 in high school) Worked at PaknSave pushing trollies every weekend trying to finish the car (Bodykits, springs, rims etc etc) managed to finish it a year ago and some old guy decided to not stop at a roundabout and wrote it off for me at 330,000kms. Still miss this old buddy of mine

You have come a long way mate!

This was mine:

Sold it not long after I bought it to avoid dishing out for new tyres and a clutch

Then I bought, this time off my Grandma:

It was mint when I got it. Poor thing managed to hold up to 70,000km of absolute abuse... hardly a day went by I didn't do skids in it.... Also spend most of its life near the redline. One of the diff bearings started to get a little noisey but other than that it was solid as when I sold it at 220000km.

Both of the two cars above cost more than the e34 and were infinitely worse (if not infinitely cheaper to run and maintain)
