kulgan 1042 Report post Posted October 10, 2015 Engines coming along nicely. Found a few on Ebay for 740's.I don't know if they will fit or not but you can contact the seller and ask if they have the right one for your engine. Looks like it could be a bit cheaper than getting one from Germany. http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E31-E32-E34-E38-530i-540i-740i-740iL-840Ci-X5-Z8-Valley-Pan-Cover-Genuine-/111276792725?hash=item19e89d1b95#vi-ilComp http://www.ebay.com/itm/Valley-Pan-Gasket-Seal-for-BMW-530i-540i-740i-740iL-840Ci-X5-Z8-/371035612148?hash=item56637223f4

Ahmedsinc 414 Report post Posted October 11, 2015 Nice work so far. I have to ask the question though - since you're going to all the effort of a proper teardown and rebuild why have you stuck with the B35? 230hp & 235 ft/lb torque from the B35 as opposed to 280hp & 310 ft/lb from the M62B44NV? One would assume all the bearings and seals etc to rebuild both engines would be the same cost? Not knocking your decision, just genuinely curious

Not knocking your decision, just genuinely curious No remapping or whatever you have to do for a bigger motor, no certification, and the car will be much lighter Seeing the work you've done on this I cant wait to see what you do with the rest of the car. Looks very smart. I will start on the engine bay cleaning and painting it once the motor is finessed and put it back in. Then I will start on the fabrication of the fibre glass panels.
