SmithyInWelly 212 Report post Posted March 1, 2018 I've often thought about a 325ti as a cheap daily runner... one with a additional 500cc would be slightly less cheap to run but more smiley to drive... https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1555978824.htm?rsqid=456a6688c3a34ae9819a25722a327e0c Shame about the "executive" interior... but easy enough to improve: BMW Compact 325Ti 2001 _ Trade Me001.htm BMW Compact 325Ti 2001 _ Trade Me002.htm BMW Compact 325Ti 2001 _ Trade Me003.htm

TermiPeteNZ 1318 Report post Posted March 2, 2018 Hey Cory - yes neat little vehicle! Timber trim - not so much - but as you say could be swapped!
Blackie 510 Report post Posted March 2, 2018 If it were manual I'd be up there tomorrow. Nice car. Wonder if he welded the oil pump spocket.

Olaf 3317 Report post Posted March 6, 2018 yeah Cory, as it's a runner and has the M54B30 in it, should be plenty of car for $3k or less. Only thing will be when you're insuring: "has the car been modified?" errr, yes, it's had its engine replaced. One wonders if there's more to be done; bigger front brakes? thicker ARB's at front and rear? I'd guess that as it's a 325Ti it should already have most of the fruit you'd need to put on, for a conversion. Hopefully Allan TIM325i will drop in on this thread and share his expertise. Could be a really fun package.
Olaf 3317 Report post Posted March 6, 2018 (edited) PS - sticker-bomb or manga comic the trim. It'd be something different. EDIT: Here's a bike I saw this morning that had been tastefully Hulk-bombed. Edited March 6, 2018 by Olaf
qube 3570 Report post Posted March 6, 2018 this thing would be absolutely awesome, especially if one did a normal 3 series front end conversion like brent's track car.

Olaf 3317 Report post Posted March 7, 2018 Just make sure you pick a good line between them, and think of your exits not just the apex
