New forum theme is far too dark.

I can't understand why there's been a lack of effort to make the forum look good? Is it super complicated?

Many forums have been dying due to other platforms like Facebook taking the share of users so it just strikes me as a bit disappointing to have a good forum like this become difficult to read and lessen the appeal to current or new users.

It's not the mods. It's further up the chain and that's why we have lost so many sponsors and really knowledgeable members over the last few years

So who owns this place?

Can the mods buy the site off the owners, or can we get a new owner that actually cares about this place?

to be fair, Glenn asked pointed, clear questions (I understand private, as well as public), of the Owners and Mods for quite some time before removing his sponsorship support of the site.  We've seen other potential sponsors ask these questions.

 

EDIT:  we should be careful not to confuse ownership and direction questions, with forum software upgrade questions!

I made a quick change, should be easier to read. Also took the liberty to upgrade the forum to the latest version.
