gjm 3258 Report post Posted June 12, 2018 https://www.trademe.co.nz/a.aspx?id=1663951542 It's going to take some significant work. The impact has popped the windscreen, suggesting deformation around the screen and A-pillars. 1
M3AN 4016 Report post Posted June 13, 2018 I wonder what happened to the McLaren in the background and whether that's up for auction as a wreck also?
E30 325i Rag-Top 2956 Report post Posted June 13, 2018 The windscreen could be from where the bonnet has come up from the clamps possibly? But yes a big hit for sure, and will need some extensive time on the chassis jig to get that all lined up again. shame, as it looks like it was in very good condition after it's restoration. Fingers crossed whoever wins the auction puts it back on the road and doesn't part it out for spares.

Mikan 173 Report post Posted June 26, 2018 Just over an hour left and already 11k - fun could be about to start. Have to wonder a) how much it would cost to get that straightened out, and b) what the agreed value was if the insurer decided it cheaper to write it off. I really hope it gets back on the road. As @E30 325i Rag-Top says, it looks a lovely car.
gjm 3258 Report post Posted June 26, 2018 (edited) Now well over $17k. Edit: $17520. ? Quite honestly, I think that's way over a reasonable price and I hope the very low feedback scores aren't indicative of problems coming along for the seller. Take the '1' off the front and that's about where i saw it. Edited June 26, 2018 by gjm
lord_jagganath 421 Report post Posted June 26, 2018 judging by the buyer, yeah, they can afford to buy the car, and two, it will probably get exported to UK or something like that.
Mikan 173 Report post Posted June 26, 2018 Yeah, I thought the same (with the proviso that I know nothing about anything). Given 30ish seems to be 'market' for the tiis I have seen go on trademe in the last couple of years, and they have been extremely tidy, there is not much to play with to stay in the envelope. Plus the incident and a re-cert in its history. Still. A roundie tii. Doesn't get any better. I wish the new owner an affordable and simple repair.
