Bargain NZ New Manual E46 M3 Coupe?

Recommended Posts

Spotted this. Sub 40K for an NZ New, M3 Coupe, pretty sure its factory manual since its NZ New and listed as such on carjam. Seems a bit of a bargain?!

I've actually seen this car in person frequenting Queenstown and it does need a variety of cosmetic things remedied but has decent bones. I actually took a few photos of it because I thought it looked rather tasty especially with the mountains in the backdrop. From memory the interior needs a full overhaul.

Here are the photos I took of it in February 2021.

Is it really a bargain though? Fixing all the cosmetic issues, do all the guaranteed deferred maintenance and mechanical work, then maybe do preventative subframe repairs and rod bearings, easy 10k+ right off the bat .

Yeah agreed. I'd say, given the recent pull-back in prices, that it seems about bang-on to me given the mileage, condition and big 3 needing to be addressed.

The condition of it in the listing screams an owner that does the typical Kiwi bare minimum to keep it on the road.

This gear knob disgusts me. Who wants to put their hand on that every time they drive it?

Sold?

If close to ask, I'm quite impressed by that price

Saw this one yesterday, was considering going and viewing but it just seemed like it was going to need a lot of work done to it in the near future.

Still waiting for a cheap e92 that's not to horrendous to come along.
