  1. Same. If you get sick of the way the paddles work hit me up, you can rewire them and even change the paddles themselves if you want.
  2. @Danch - you were looking for a manual 130, this is a good one IMO.
  3. Fortunately all NZDM and JDM models, even the LCI, have hydraulic steering, none of that electric crap. Is yours manual or auto?
  4. Welcome Murray and that looks like a nice example. Don't be a stranger to the 130i thread...
  5. You don't hear of many autos going pop, mine still seems sound at ~135k kms.

I wanted to give both a sad and a laughing emoji to this post.

    Purple tag rack $250

Someone with an e36 buy this, you'll thank me (us) later.
  8. Street pads? I reckon the stock Textar ones are sound, albeit dusty.

Yeah, that f'ing sucks dude, so sorry to see that, you have my sympathies (although I know they don't really help). I'm angry for you. 🤬
  10. The problem is 66k and 14 years... the 14 years trumps the 66k so all the 100k maintenance will need to be done pretty soon, cooling system, gaskets, shocks, brakes, etc... and it's very, very unlikely that, at 66k, any of that has been done. Unless it has $4k of receipts it's not a $12k car. And that people still think NZ new is actually a benefit is daft. Yes, a new import is a risk, but one that's been in country and driven for a couple of years already? No difference to NZ new. And does it have the expensive options, Xenons, iDrive, etc? Or is it "NZ spec"? I think almost anyone is better off picking up an $8k equivalent, there's enough of them, and put the $4k change in the kitty for bits and maintenance, pretty sure you'll come out ahead.
  11. Facebook? You mentioned Trademe? I can't image an auto will ever sell for $12k again here.
  12. Link? Can't find it. It would have to be well beyond mint to be worth $12k, but hey, if it sold for that I wouldn't complain. That driver's seat looks worse than mine at double the km's.

    Quick rant thread.

Auckland drivers. SMH. Waikato expressway, only the occasional selfish prick sits in the right hand lane, most use it for passing only. North of Bombay, pick a lane that you like, at a speed you like, and just sit there, nobody else matters and mirrors obviously don't work. And heavy vehicles static in the middle lane, even when the left is empty, FFS you're a professional driver, you should know better, you're just being a lazy prick. Seriously, if idiots carried on like this in most of Europe they'd lose their license for 3 months. Selfish truck drivers would have their company shamed in local media as being irresponsible, and rightly so.
  14. They'd have to be genuine BMW branded parts for me to pay that. But then I'd probably never pay for BMW branded parts, they're a rip off. And $100 for "freight"? lol, no, you wouldn't even pay that if you imported them from the US or Europe yourself... and, if they're BMW branded parts, they're getting them locally.

How much over the speed limit do you need to be going to instantly lose your license, with no existing demerits? I thought it was like 50km/h? Painful anyway I'm sure, how long for? 😬

Heck, I remember paying close to $1800 for a standard "Inspection II" on the M3 20 odd years ago, lord knows what something like that costs today. And I bet it's simply crushing when something that's only 5.01 years old, and now out of warranty, on a car that should last 15+ years, needs replacing... especially if it's electronic.

Just fabricate or buy one of these: https://southernbm.com.au/products/kap-industries-fire-extinguisher-bracket-e-series-f-series-g-series-q5gjn I suspect it will be cheaper to buy one by the time you've cut and powder coated your own.

Wut? 255's have never been stock on an e8x, even the 135... how did they communicate that conclusion to you?
  20. Heck, I have no idea what it's worth but keep in mind that an e46 M3 shell is not the same as a bog standard e46 coupe shell, it has different guards front and rear, additional reinforcements, lighter panels (roof, doors, and bonnet IIRC?). Does that make it worth ~8k? Not sure, but I am sure you'd need to be proper keen. Edit: even the cosmetically identical e36 M3 body is vastly different from the standard coupe/sedan version.

I'm taking that on face value as sarcasm given the EMPHASIS, and if that's the case I agree. I didn't make a comment or judgement on speed (or safety), this is a discussion about driving up to speed limits... and if you're driving below the limit, regardless of the conditions, you have an absolute responsibility to move aside for those that want to travel at the speed limit. This is not a debate, it's an absolute in road courtesy. Now, if the people you let past go ahead and crash, or get pulled over by a cop, then so be it, not your problem. I want to be unambiguous here, if you are driving BELOW the speed limit for YOUR comfort, you must ABSOLUTELY (edit: safely) pull over as soon as people behind you want to pass, it is NOT your place to judge how fast or safe they are driving. Get out of the way.

    Quick rant thread.

If people are driving faster than you then yes, 40-45 is too slow. If you're not confident travelling at the speed limit, in any conditions, and people are driving faster than you, pull over and let them pass, even if that means you spend half your time pulling over to let others past. That's pretty much common sense actually, I'm surprised anyone would need to ask, although I shouldn't be so surprised because it seems that whilst it's common sense, it doesn't appear to be common practice on NZ roads. In Europe you'd probably get shoved off the road if you did this, or pulled over by a cop.
  23. I wish is was tighter, to discourage (or even better, punish) people who drive ridiculous 5m long, 2m wide SUV's around like they own the roads (and carparks).

On the e8/9x vehicles you can code that to a lower amount, I assume you can also do so on the e6x chassis.
