Hope that works out for you... M&T wouldn't sell me longer bolts, even though they were on display behind the counter. They said they "can't enable illegal modifications"... smh.

Least we forget... The moderation of this site was proven to be inadequate in 2020 during the heights of the whole Trump/Covid/Conspiracy thing and BS almost imploded. Many of the protagonists seem to have fallen by the wayside but it's probably territory we should avoid in the interests of harmony.

Also Get Electronic in Christchurch, fixed my S50 ECU.

My fuel "economy" is essentially terrible, well over 10l/100km in urban/commute situations, I'm lucky to get 320kms from a tank. Mine is tuned, so not a perfect baseline. I eeked it down to 7.2l/100kms on a run to Pauanui and back some years back using a very light right foot and much cruise control, that wasn't much fun to drive though. At the end of the day I only fill it up once a month or less (98) so economy is less of a concern to me than fun. In "sport" mode, with both a flashed ECU and trans, I can see the fuel gauge moving down to empty when driving with spirit. Not much point in owning a straight six lump if you're looking for economy I suppose.

Invercargill, PFL, panel damage, high miles? Yep. Still a good pickup but I think it's priced about right for what it is, maybe $8k max?

lol - my bad, I failed to properly read the bit about 4 pax sorry... a situation tbh I never find myself in. I can say that my F1 Eagle Asyms in 255 are squarer and carry more shoulder than my RE003's with the same dimensions, rubbing much more in borderline situations.

FWIW, try and hold out for the M3 ones, or see if you can source some TWR equivalents. Unless it's an urgent replacement you'll kick yourself if you buy stock ones then find M3 ones. I forget what they're called but the front upper arms are same length and material E8/9x = M3 with the exception of the bush which you can get poly replacements for easily enough, and then you actually end up with a better outcome than the M3 version.

Spring pads squish pretty quickly into their "nominal state" so that rear end will drop by a few mm's soon enough.

That's ^ actually better than gold. Thank you.

Yep. I once added a free branded coffee mug to an order and it reduced the total shipping cost for that order. Go figure.

Spareto is my go-to for heavy items, their shipping seems unreasonably good in comparison to others by weight. I've even had success emailing them when I got a shipping estimate/quote that seemed high and got a new quote for $40 less for shipping. YMMV. That it's cheaper to personally import things like discs and clutches than buying local is criminal (but not new). Also, as mentioned a few posts back by others, Turners can deliver quite appealing outcomes in comparison to others and will also work with you on shipping options/costs.

All mods, especially aesthetic ones, involve a lot of subjectivity, don't let what others think sway you too far from your preferences. I've added some small details to mine, I'm satisfied that I like them. You have BMWP pedal covers in case you didn't already know; a reasonably common 'upgrade' but an appreciated one nevertheless.

Yep, and still routes excess oil back to the crankcase.

Mine came with one of these: https://www.gulfstream.co.jp/products/detail.php?product_id=127 Silly money but it's set and forget so a bit of a win for me.

Pretty well sorted 135 up at the Museum in the Domain, anyone we know?

Nice pickup there Danny. I wouldn't be afraid of the solenoids, I've done 3 x N52's and never had a problem. The filters are a bit more of a challenge but that's only because they're quite hidden and access is somewhat limited.

I remember that little beastie, real fun.

Good. It was a dumb and greedy proposition from the outset, I hope it cost them some long-term customer loyality. But the quotes above are also just marketing BS and misdirection... How are they doing parking assist without (pre)installed hardware? Liars.

The 500 was so much fun.

Is this "news"? Not sure, mods can move as required. Many of you might have one of these, they've been kicking around since 2017. I'm sure the risk is low, and it's only certain models, but it may concern you.

Nice one Chris, well done. Now on to the new donk...

IIRC = 'If I Recall Correctly', been around since before the www (like me!). I think you should be fine based on the information above. If you wanted to be 100% sure you could go to BMW themselves but I'd take a bucket of lube with you.

IIRC "Battery Validation" is used if you install an identical spec battery as previous used, as long as the original was "registered" correctly in the first place. And "Battery Registration" is used when you're installing a battery of different spec. But as @Driftit says, it may well be tool dependant language. Regardless of the battery I use, if I put a new one in I always do a full "registration".
