While its taken a while, I've finally replaced every suspension component with an OEM replacement part to refresh the feeling of the car back to that new feeling. My E36 finally feels just right, if I think back to how it once was it sure is night and day compared to when I first picked it up, and it was relatively tidy to start with back in 2009 when it had 175,000kms. As of 2014 at 209,000kms Everything is tight and direct, very predictable. Changing the stock E36 to M3 parts is no doubt one of the best upgrades you can do. The whole front has had an M3 EVO upgrade, all original parts such as Lemforder, the only part I haven't replaced is the steering rack which has not yet given any grief. The addition of an M3 cross-brace has also sharpened up the front turn in feel. The rear suspension was the weak link for too long, so this year I stripped the old subframe off, installed M3 reinforcement plates and rebuilt a 328i Manual rear suspension assembly with 17 brand new bushes/links and finished it off with a replacement LSD running a 4.27 gear ratio. For the first time it grips and goes without any fuss or strange behaviour. While a costly exercise (eye watering) it's been an excellent learning curve and I now have a car that rides and drives like it should. If anyone has a BMW they plan to keep for a long time / never sell I strongly recommend giving your pride and joy a suspension overhaul.

Yea I found doing the rear of the m3 has made a big difference too. So much tighter since almost every bush was just starting to show signs of degrading. Was abit 1200 from memory for all bushes mounts and balljoints.

The bourbon glasses are maybe slightly on, but I've heard a wild rumour that on the 11th day God made this thing called a NON-VANOUS 540I BMW (ok, he messed round for a few days creating women, Fords, Holdens, & 3 series / 6 cylinder BMW's......... ) that in perspective, goes like a cut-cat & does'nt give too much brain-damage (unlike what he'd been up to on previous days.............) Was sinking coupla amber Fanta's with The Stig the other night, contemplating the current northern issue, & she reckoned the 328 is much like the 318 ya had, only it's got 1000 more potential issues.......... Hang in there dude - you'll beat it yet..............

Cock up = pay..... $200 hundy is a bit over the top. We would charge $20- $50 dependant on your attitude or gender BTW: The correct tool that is used to do this can cost between between $500 & $12,000 dollars

Had inflatable seat bolsters in my old E46 M3. Was done by a company in penrose. I think it was circa $500 and both seats!! From memory..

well done mate. In my experiences you can't rely on BMW mechanics. I found it best to consult these forums, get a bit of a direction/consult google and everything goes far smoother than wasting time and money paying for work that never gets done on a 'mechanic'. Main thing is not to let it get the best of you, there is a solution so don't stress. Best of luck

Im not so sure the BMW GT is actually even classed as a BMW so its not so bad. Counted as the biggest flop in history.

As i said the car 100% the 3x short times i drove it, you've had it for awhile now and issues like this can develop anytime. Not sure what overheating etc has to do with anything. I replaced mates E36 cam sensor a couple of years ago which was showing the same symptoms as yours, once it was scanned the problem was able to pinpointed.

The crazy is already here.... She didnt want a gold car because she knew someone who had one 10 years ago and they might think the colour is dated.
