The price is right. Worth every cent with all the work already done. Unless you are desperate do not budge, I`m sure the new owner will be along soon. It needs to be sitting at Hellbm where many potential buyers come and go.

Hmmmm goodness me! What could it be! ...New Mustang v8 ? Ahh I though Z4 first... possibly one with a V8?

F*ck that! You can buy a heavy duty (600hp) tc for around $750 brand new. Someone like Ray will be able to put it all back together with fresh fluid for a lot less than $4K. That said, if you've got $4-6K sitting around, a manual conversion would be well worth it.

Maybe if you hit the switch on the bat signal he'll come to you?

Haha cheers mate I love these cars, thanks! The powered seat frames are available if you want, will send you a PM. Thanks Jamie! Cheers Michael, it sucks reading a thread and all they have is potatocamera quality photos. I shoot with a 550d and a 50mm 1.8, nothing amazing but it does the trick! Yeah, the factory jack is pretty poor, but it's annoying because it's not like I can always carry a trolley jack in the boot for such occasions Thanks for the welcome everybody, I look forward to being a member in this community Next up is recovering the door cards I think, I have some closed cell foam to skin the underside so it has a nice feel to it but I just need to find the appropriate fabric and glue, does anyone know if Ados F2 will hold up over time?

maintenance history is the best to check. Otherwise see my other post on a similar topic regarding a high kms 7 series. My e36 just ticked over 280kms and its not doing too badly. i have full service history though!

coil overs are sketchy everywhere in NZ! i would never have gone to them if my cert guy didn't dictate i needed stupid high spring rate in the front, even higher than a 750iL wtffff

Good tricks I use are try get the nose of the car as high as possable to expel air easier, key on so heater valves open, and poor coolent in veeerrrrrrryyyy slllooooowwwwwwllllllyyyyyy. I usually use the 1 litre bmw coolant bottle and take just over a minute or so to trickle it in then give it a few mins before doing the next one. Then usual procedure after that, warm up, bleed valve open etc etc

on the gear box. you will need to get under car. remove plug, short with a piece of wire, key on ON position but not started, and see if backup lights come on, may need a mirror or the wife to help etc

can't comment on that one, but keep well away from the white one with the hard top, was a water damaged car that went through Turners a few years back

yes but its the f**ktards that don't do that, and think because race car. shocks bottom out/chassis hits ground, and its all over. I saw someone just about wipe out last night for this exact reason

It's a manual, and has been remapped obviously as well. True figures on a reliable, reputable dyno, Gavins at Hi velocity, he did the remap as well. Engines going in this for next season, with a M50 inlet cam on the exhaust side, should be around 235hp I hope, will post when done.

I wonder if the way you've phrased your sales pitch is potentially deterring buyers? To someone that understands the weaker points of the E46 M3 your ad is reassuring, but for someone that knows nothing about the car other than it's scary fast perhaps it's subliminally raising a red flag? 111,000 km on a 12 year old car is still only 9,000km p/a. Realistically speaking, the motor is only just run in. At 25k that would have to be the steal of the year

a tad unfair alright, but pretty impressive Steve.

Big thanks to Ray for helping to supply this, M3 SMG wheel for my E36, I've wire up the paddles to work remotely with the custom manualised automatic, goes great now, sooo much nicer than the cruise control stick at the 4 o'clock position I've been using for over a year! Just waiting to source a dead airbag I can re-assemble as part of the center piece / horn.

Im trying not to loose the plot here but if anyone is serious about making any gains from any setup you really need to look at the bigger picture, doing just one thing isnt going to give you a magical gain unless its already restricting things in a big way. Half the time just a dam good tune up gives a noticeable gain when playing with cams you need to know what the heads doing first no point in adding a cam and dropping flow as for the manifold, you need to understand the intake tuned length or frequency is directly connected to the headers length and volume that combined with the head flow and comp ratio you can now pick a cam theres no free lunches. Remember a reflash/chipped ecu can only give you gains based on the above in saying that adding some cams with more overlap reduces the effective comp ratio that in turn allows more timing even on 98 theres no detonation on a motor using 10/1 comp ratio but youll need to tune to find the gains so as for this manifold? Look at the bigger picture if you really want some gains but hey i have no idea what im doing so carry on looks like eveyones having a great time

Those splitters look good, also interested to know which you went with. A quick check of your VIN confirms it was not factory specced with a sunroof. Yours is a couple of months older than mine, but other than the non-smoker package option it is identical. http://www.bmwarchive.org/vin/ea66308.pdf

Hey mate, I've just finished ripping out a manual conversion kit for mine, was also after the getrag 260 myself. I am hoping to buy a new car from another member here but he hasn't found a replacement yet. If the sale goes ahead you can have it. Otherwise let me know where to find a bloody 260!! Goodluck

Did u see the space they're parked in?............duhI could photoshop the sh*t out of them too as many do but I prefer them to look real
  27. 1 point
The gearbox, flywheel and starter from your E30 will all bolt up to the M50 engine. You could just use those and then youd just need a pedal box, crossmember, driveshaft and selectors to finish the conversion

I read the original post, im just clarifying that even with resonators you can get a drone. If the cats are OK and not blocked i dont see the point in removing them. The increase in noise wont be too substantial. Also, my car does smell a bit from the exhaust, more so when cold (due to cold start enrichment). I dont mind it, just smells like burnt fuel. Cant notice it when the engine is warm unless backing up with windows down (and then its only a hint of exhaust). I wouldnt worry to much. Mine will be made worse by having no O2 sensors and overfuelling.

Tbh, you are much better off buying a new OE replacement.

Don't waste your time and money and buy an m3. Be similar money since Every man and his dog here has one now and will go waaayyyyy faster without any mods and in a few years will be worth more than what you paid for it. And seeing your track record I will buy it off you once it's been put in the ditch or sh*t itself to make my m3 touring. That's after a 30 page thread about how you're going to buy one of course
