Right I understand that this is a first world problem and that people make mistakes but it still pisses me off. I try and choose the widest most out of the away park that I can so that people stay the hell away from my car and I don't have to get upset when they hit it. Just came back to my car and found a streak of maroon paint in a stripe along the side of my rear bumper and rear wheel where whoever was next to me has reversed out and 'grazed' my car. Hopefully it'll polish out and come off, but basically my point is that I wish people would realise that just because they don't care about their car, doesn't mean that a car next to them isn't someone else's pride and joy. It happened to me on the side of a mountain once in a quiet car park when me and some friends were out walking! Anyway there's food on the table and everyone I know is happy and alive so rant over : )

Tom , a few months ago I got clipped in Merivale Mall carpark. When I came out. there was a guy standing by his car who told me that I`d been scraped by a chap in a `Big black Range Rover ` ( No surprises there...) However no Rego number so I had to wear it. Ashamed to say this, but I now park ( Ahem ) in the disabled carparks...they are always empty, and they are right up by the automatic doors. I always make sure that I limp a bit when I get out though...

I thought some maybe interested whats gone into my e36 turbo and setup its now done 30k from a fresh engine and still runs well apart from minor crack in the head, oh ya. Anyway it runs a M42B18 which most may know is turbocharged from ground up it goes like this, small case 4.1 rear end 220g box custom clutch and my own billet flywheel 5kg, bilstein’s all round on lowered up rated springs 6 cly brakes etc custom gear lever very little travel ( great when you get use to it ). As for the heart it’s a stock block been tank and many hours grinding and blue printing it much time was spent on the oil system, stock crank and journal sizes use ACL bearings stock timing chain. 135mm H beam rods JE Mitsi evo pistons 86mm 22mm pin drops comp ratio to 8.8/1 pistons sits 1mm down from deck, use cap screws for head bolts pulled down to 85 ft/lb and stock head gasket no o ringing has been done. Head is stock as per cams but centerline for timing has been changed a large amount cam pulleys slotted more to allow this, intake manifold is stock first 4” then cut off and 4” plenium is welded to it uses a m50b25 throttle body 660cc simmens injectors stock fuel rail two Detuchworkx pump intank. Headers are custom 4 into 1 steam pipe port matched to head 2.5” exhaust off turbo to rear with two offset chamber mufflers ( did have one but droned like hell ) 38mm Tial gate welded to turbine housing, turbo is one of my units a HRC35RS 6cm turbine ( Holset based ) rated to 500hp front mount cooler is 600x300x75mm. Cooler piping is 2.5” from turbo to cooler then 3” to throttle body, no blow valve is run or needed its how the turbo is designed has 4” intake with air amplifier added to the front ( my design patient pending ), ECU Haltech Sprint 500 ignition wasted spark using Subaru coil pack. It currently runs 18 psi makes full boost by 3500 rpm I rev it to 7500rpm has launch control and few other toys, wheels are Sparco NS6 18x8.5 with Dunlop track DOT tires, car still gets 90km around town on $20 and use 91 octane, don’t freak theres no det and runs very well as for performance lets say its over 300hp To how it drives its very stealth and tons of fun demoralizing many expensive road cars ( on closed roads of course ) topend doesn’t stop no matter gear ( closed roads again ) its handling is pretty good and stops well using Ferodo pads hard on the discs but stops J, this is just the workshop hack body is rough doesn’t really stand out apart from the plates lol hope I haven’t bored you guys too much.

Hey BMW enthusiasts! I purchased mine end of September 2013 as a cheap run about and do-up (will also be teaching little sister to drive and will end up passing down to her as her first car in a of couple years). I'm up in AKL but travel to The Mount and Hamilton often. 4 door to fit family in as my dad drives it to drop my sister off to school. I got her stock standard, automatic, sunroof (yusss), tidy inside, few rust spots on roof and bonnet but looking at getting her painted sometime this year or next. Slowly doing her up, partner treated me to some BBS RS wheels + cobra springs for valentines which makes her look like a totally different car! Starting with appearance and then move onto modifying the engine to give some power however this will be after driving lessons haha. Have purchased the pplate SLKBMW, slapped a couple stickers on and tints to come next month so if you see me driving around give me a wave, I'm looking forward to meeting you and your cars!

am i the only one that gets really pissed off when i intentionally park well away from others, and then when i return to my car someone else thinks its a great place and parks next to me? Heaps of parks closer to the door, no reason to have to park next to me.... The reason i park well away is to stop you idiots parking next to me!

One of my staff caught someone in a hilux scraping up the side of his one week old company car. When he approached her she refused to give any details and said she would take us to court. Luckily he got her rego # so insurance have been able to track her down, but its so disrespectful that people can't take responsibility for their actions.

I know how you feel, man. Just last night I had someone back into my car, smashed the indicator completely and then took off! Luckily a member of the public saw and gave me his l/p number. It pisses me off to no end when people don't own up to that kind of stuff.

+ 10000 When I was parking in Uni carpark and was sitting inside my car a girl getting into her car (a pre 1990 Mitsubishi hatchback) next to me just opened the door and slammed her door onto the side of my car when she was throwing her bag in. I was nearly raging when she slammed her door onto my car AGAIN when she was getting into her car. The thing is she didn't even bother to look over and acted like nothing had happened and drove off.

I feel for you buddy. I had my car restored and fully repainted, straight away the next day some dickhead left a trolley dent on my passenger door. Left a sour taste till this day (the dent is still there to remind me of it) I now park as far away as possible

I'd expect most folk would be quite embarrassed and apologetic, likely doing the quick exit to avoid any confrontation which would seem quite common these days. I couldn't imagine much worse than some regular placid couple hanging around after doing that, and some nutter winding up and tripping out in some frothing rage. At the other end. I live in a CBD block with a few apartment buildings around and some interesting if not straight up super-eccentric neighbors. One neighbor (John) has his car parked out front, nothing too flash just a regular old run around, another neighbor has the worst parking skill imaginable. Her 3-point skills invariably leave carnage resembling an autobahn pileup. She ends up backing into this guys car, it's happened a few times so this particular neighbor decides to hit her up about it, quite politely but firmly. Next thing this womans husband is out on the footpath demanding that "In the interests of good neighborly relations" John just drops it! lol *BOOM*!!

I feel the frustration my friend. Just last month, had someone rub the opposite side front guard of my bmw, i didn't even see it until i began washing the car, funny thing is that i do exactly the same thing you do, park far away from lazy people and plenty of space where possible...but even that ain't good enough....is it that hard to apologise for damaging another persons property? It's an attitude problem more then anything else. All the best mate.

F*ck the haters! I dunno man it all blows my mind, loads of the rules are left to interpretation (grey areas) and it just depends if the police/wof guys want to be a bell end on the day I recon. I don't understand how it can fail a Wof if it's been certed though, or is it wound down a little below cert height : p ?

Pity... I sold this 2 days ago (a 2000 but I had bought all the facelift bits and recoded the LCM).

If you wanted to make an M50 turbo you'd have to find an autobox that easily works.... you'd need it's original gearbox(easier to manual convert than wire in an extra e30's worth of sh*t) the ZF4HP22 can handle boost, but again why, it'd be dumb.
