Had a weak moment and offered my spare S62 for this dilemma ($6000).Nothing came of it. Thankfully that generous offer passed otherwise I`d be kicking myself when the time comes to use it in another Hellbm Project.

they dont have to do that any more. the seller gets a letter in the mail to say that its been changed, and to call NZTA if they think its an error. so if you move house, the letter goes missing, you would never know. Having said all that, whos name is on the database is only who is responsible for the fines etc accossiated with the vehicle, it is NOT legal ownership of the vehicle eg you can put your car into anyones name you like, such as if a friend came to new zealand for 6 months, but its still your car.

$6K! Ray, that's a steal.... Lucky you didn't offer that to me or you might be down one S62 right now!! Edit: Also a pity Lachie didn't check the boards before buying that Silverstone one. He might not be in the predicament he's in... Should have kept the Avus one, Lachie! I see it now and again and the new owner has done a great job restoring it! Looks mint!!

^ I can't see Ray selling that low km facelift S62 at all Josh ... that's his back up motor or another secret build haha!! Good luck to the OP with finding a replacement. They are becoming quite rare these S62s .. and rightly so given how brilliant it is.

Yeah, but was waiting for someone to ask this lol. This isn't the 1st fan clutch I've removed, did it a lot of times on my old E30's etc. But its a fair question for sure

Luckily there are some clever people around that don't work for BMW ... LOL And end users like me that are crazy enough to splash out on the gear to try it out : ) Excellent to hear Ray ... I figured you haven't txt'd or called to say how awesome the new update is because you've been out drivings?? haha!! Working on acquiring one at the moment ... should happen soon enough : )

Hello all, been spending the better part of the afternoon researching tires. Mine have cracks in them on the outer edges and I suspect they may not make it through the next warrant check next week. The cracks have been there since the car was vin'd and warranted earlier this year though so maybe they're not all that bad (optimistic here, the yard I got it from was a little bit suspect, I still have their sunglasses, cellphone chargers and copied cd's they'd left in the car when we picked it up. We threw the cigarette ash and beer bottles out though). Anyway, the car currently has asymmetric bridgestone playz, which seem to be decent enough and I'd like to replace them with something of simliar stature. I've been looking online at re001's and asymmetric eagle f1s (owned the gds3s before and was happy with them), these seem to be the bread and butter of the range I'm looking at, but in my travel's I've found that the re001's are being replaced with re002's. Anyone heard anything about these coming into NZ, and when that would be? Release date in aus is 1st June. If I do end up needing new tires these could be a goer.
