Very true. Yet it still feels fast and slightly dangerous. Because I am on safari. In Mt Eden.

Hi guys, new here and new to BMW's but I'm on the lookout for an E36 M3 coupe. Happy for something needing work or a project- anything and anywhere considered. Thanks,

it was Nikasil that was the problem - Alusil was the solution. it's worth reading up on, as you suggest.

Early 90's Jap turbo's reliable? Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah (breath) hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Audi RS, Mercidies AMG, BMW M, Renault Sport, VW R, etc are all massively over engineered these days, just look at what power they leave on the table for the aftermarket tuners, think 60-100bhp with drive trains that can handle it.

Can't really complain. Was hoping for 45 but not too far off the mark and went to a good home.

for example, this video is the later model hiace (my one is earlier) and i am sure it will be totally unladen in this video. bye bye legs i once wrote off an L300 setting up the Wairarapa rally several years back. road was closed so we were going a bit quicker than usually would be, some farmer decided to cut the tape and went out on the course the wrong way, and crashed into us. i tried braking, but being gravel nothing happened, so i abandoned braking and swung my legs over to the passenger side. if i didnt i would have lost them, the drivers foot well totally disappeared and i could see the ground in front of me.

not to mention when its onto its second and third owners that dont treat them like a new car, nor look after them like a new car. At least the less on the road the better. they are ghastly looking things, although i will admit better than the 1 series that looks like it has the face of a turtle.

Throttle body adapter plate on the front of the manifold was the culprit. Not a common area to leak it seems. Problem is definitely fixed! Took me a week to find out as the alternator died for the 2nd time right after I fixed this.

I love how an ACC auto-computer problem is John Keys fault.

lol and people wonder why NZ New doesnt really mean a lot in terms of servicing. typical kiwis. Yeah i was surprised how easy it was to do. Just need a 17mm spanner, 13mm spanner and a T30 torx bit. Apparently the older pumps had another pipe that requires a big triple square driver bit, but mine had the rubber hose. The direct injection is bloody loud on the Golf, no rattles but lots of ticking/clattering at idle. Seems pretty normal from the ones ive looked at.

One after the other unfortunately.... depends which get used the most. If you have a passenger & kids in & out of the car every day. Make sure the membrane is not damaged and sealed correctly or you will have damaging water ingress

Not yet...I got quoted $140 - so ordered the part off eBay which was $10 includ. shipping and I'll fix it myself. See if that sorts it

lowererd on coil over adjustables, cobra springs in the rear, 19" DTM Penta Alloys, I dont think it can go any lower only millimetres to spare in the rear with the 19's.
