Purchased a BMW M3 for my partner and supercharged her with E46 M3 VT2-575 Supercharger System (Gen.3) - ESS Tuning The top of the line, intercooled Gen.3 S54 VT2-575 supercharger system produces 575hp and 360lb-ft of torque at 10psi of boost. A 232hp gain over stock, eclipsing the output of a Nissan GTR! Featuring the highly efficent, extremely durable and self contained Vortech V3 supercharger unit in Si trim, the supercharger is capable of producing up to 775hp. Added Blistein PSS10 Coilovers and a few other bits and bobs to her. She's a beauty!

Hi All, I know this has been discussed before awhile back but i have hit a road block with my turbo manifold and wanted peoples opinion before i go and start spending $$$ So i managed to semi build myself an turbo manifold with individual runners but have run into issues on the collector end as i don't really have space for the wastegate unless i mount it on top of collector (which with my welder blowing a gas bottle, i need a new regulator + gas so that's about 350-400 i can put on that or someone else finishing my exhuast off) So check out pics attached and let me know your thoughts (Note i have a twin scroll turbo) 1. Go back to log style manifold (more space but likely wont support my power numbers i want) 2. Keep as is with bottom mount and have someone finish off the manifold 3. Keep same style but change to top mount (only issue is getting 2.5" outlet into two pipes, which i confirmed will just fit between last runner & firewall and 6/5) 4. Buy this and just get a 50mm flange installed - http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-M30-T4-Turbo-Manifold-E30-E32-E34-E28-E24-E23-E9-/131806544376 5. Or go with this guys idea (pictures at top and bottom of page) and make down pipes fit - http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=285809 I am personally leaning towards options 3/4/5 but i do like option 5 as i could probably do with materials i currently have and just tac together and get someone to finish off but noticed there is no wastegate (so don't know if space is there) So let me know what you think and if need be we will do a poll and go for it + anyone know any good fabricators in manwatu/welly region as i would prefer local rather than sending the car somewhere else in the country. Note: Topcat , BMWorld and other members have been awesome so far with info and i will be representing bimmersport once this is up and running (dreams)

Up for auction - tomorrow morning, 1st September, is a 1995 Alpina B12 5.7 with manual gearbox, one of only 25 manuals ever built. The spiel: " Extremely Rare one of 25 manual 5.7 Litre Alpina B12 5.7. 1995 reg with just 48k kms. 57 made in total ,32 shifttronic autos and 25 manualsThe B12 5.7 Coupe enhanced the 380PS (375hp) 5.6-liter V12 850CSi with a slightly larger displacement 5.7-liter V12 featuring a number of upgrades such as the reprogrammed ECUs and modified intakes to develop 416PS (410hp) and 570Nm for a 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint in 5.8 seconds and a top speed of 300km/h (186mph). Not to be confused with the earlier B12 which was based on the 850 ci auto. this B12 5.7 was based on the 5.6 liter 850 CSi which is already a rare car as it is so finding an Alpina is even harder so expect this to reach a hefty price at auction on Thurday Morning the 1st of September." I'd buy it, but it's left hand drive.

To be fair I'm not throwing parts and money at it, everything pointed to the fan clutch and it failed every test. Was a cheap and easy fix. If it keeps playing up I will take it to Glenn but i don't have the luxury of being able to leave the car with him so it's not as easy.

surely you mean 'form follows function'?

Washed it. Carefully washed the wheels - using my Auto Glym wheel brush. It was good to get rid of some of the tiny tar spots that have built up on the wheels. I find that the wheel cleaner I use (Break Thru degreaser at around 1:5) helps loosen and remove tar, without damaging the surface. And I chamoised it. Looks much better. And, I did something I'd been meaning to do for a while. I recently secured a BMW Business CD53 (65 12 6 921 963) December 02, from Brent at BM World. The MD Player in my MD53 had been playing up, and I'd not been able to locate a proven working late MD53 to replace it. So today I swapped out my MD53 (65 12 6 919 074) March 02, for the CD53. Took about 10 minutes. Easy. It works, plays CDs, works my changer, and tunes niu zild. Might even sound a little better than the old MD53. Still might have a look at the MD, or even get it repaired. I have a load of MDs, and find they sound acceptable (like nearly as good as a well-recorded cassette) when recorded from my TT or CDP. Better than an iPhone as a source, anyway! Perhaps it's time to get one of those adaptors that will run my iPhone (lightning connector - iPhone SE) into the factory stereo. I have no desire to go non-factory for the head unit. Wouldn't mind replacing the speakers. Better have a talk to Neal at the next run! Olaf.

Just remember, as with any project, it is most likely to cost 2x as much as you think and take twice as long, so factor that in also

Thanks mate. Not at the moment but in a weeks time after the new belt gets here then yeah should be all good to go belt kept slipping so couldn't dyno it..... but applied some belt grip and felt some real nice GFORCE .... I've owned RX7's and GTRs but nothing quite like this Beast! LOL... Waiting for ESS tuning upgrade in trans / ECU upgrade so yeah ... we'll see how that affects anything ... hoping for faster changing in gears to match the power. Overall I'm happy or she's happy lol

What period of time, Toby? Weeks/Months/Years? I have a double garage in Johnsonville tenant uses one half but we may be able to change that

Swapped out the control arm bushes and joints. Really glad I went for the meyle hd outer ball joints. It's a very easy job if you have access to a press. Not sure what a new control arm is worth vs doing this. I actually have no idea what the parts were worth because I bought them over 3 years ago... Put in some early 325 swaybars with polybushes and new endlinks. These are the style that mount to the strut. Only new or freshened parts I don't have on the front end are inner rack ends and the steering rack itself. The steering fluid reservoir is leaking like they all do so i'll sort out a fix for that too. Thanks Garett for the seatbelt adjuster trim. I might be able to finally get a warrant

Got honked on the motorway and I wondered if it was one of my mates. Turns out it was it was a fellow member driving M TOY. I always liked that e46 for how clean it was and also that it was driven properly. Wasn't that clean today but hey. I suppose it was driven earlier. Good to see ya!

Had her Inspection II yesterday so feeling nice and fresh Just a few notes on things to do. Valve readings all good and in perfect range. Asked BMW to run over it and pick out anything and everything that isn't what would call right for an essentially new car (haha) I now have a handy dandy list of maintenance items to tick off (thanks BMW) Will sort out over next couple months while she sits there pretty. And some shots of a night shoot with Charl The two sisters.
