Gees same thing here. Looking for hard to find parts for a very rare model 4wd. So far 5 places that have told me they have the parts have not had them when I have turned up. I ended up having to buy the parts from Lithuania... And they arrived quicker than parts I ordered from Hamilton... with cheaper shipping. WTF NZ.

As part of me clearing out my fleet - due to my illness - we have now decided to sell our 540i. I've updated the ad - as we will now hang on to the Touring - and I've lowered the price on the Motorsport - as I really need the car gone. I've included the chassis number - so you can confirm vehicle spec yourself. 2002 540iSE (is how its registered - but has the full Motorsport specification) - Silver - black leather Chassis: WBADN62080GF13460 175K NZ New - spec'ed with TV, electric rear blind, fold down rear seats and ski bag. I've got a factory first aid kit (unfitted) for the car. We have only owned the car a short time - and this was going to be a "keeper" due to the great spec and performance. Spent $1000s - getting rid of engine oil leaks, sorting out the broken and missing parts (like the outer underbody trays), getting a second key The bad: Power Steering oil leak - looks to be the reservoir - but could be hoses leeching - havent had time to investigate Usual dings and dents for a car this age - but presents well Usual pixels in main dash issues CD Stacker not functional Intermittent PDC failure - but self clears I'd like $4000 for this car -but open to offers as I need to sell the car. The car is in Wellington PM message or call me on 0272010807 if you are interested in buying the car Cheers Darryl

Really interesting tear down of the New B58. Quite a few surprises over your normal 6cyl Turbo. Very interesting.

Birthday treats have arrived! Also managed to find the flashdrive which contains all of the photos of the cars history and tells a good story (Just over 200 photos). Very stoked to have the whole swap documented thanks to Tim.

This is the video I was telling you about Richard. And is the reason I decided not to fit X pipes to my own E55 headers. They work at low speeds to mix the gases/sound but at high speed they do next to zero (maybe some scavenging but you wont notice the difference on a dyno imo). As you can see if you watch the leading edge of the exhaust pulse gas it likes to follow what I would call the inside edge or short radius bend of the tubes. This is also why I do not tend to make what I would call a parallel centre to parallel entry/exit design X pipe and like Richards I prefer the Splayed centre to parrallel entry exit design as it forces the gases to mix more. This is all from my own experience doing this on old restomod chev and ford v8's. If your after outright flow out of an x pipe the parallel centre to parallel entry/exit x pipe is the best bet if you want an x pipe. H pipes I wouldnt even bother with but thats just me. Of course I will fabricate whatever the customer wants. I prefer just twin straight through totally separate exhausts on v8's. My ears like that the best. Its all a matter of opinion and everyone has a different one on how they want their car to sound. Obviously street cars are a different scenario to race cars. I have never really seen anyone make any real hp from a x pipe or h pipe or Y pipe its all 1-5hp or nothing the scavenging effect that far down the line is usually not a massive factor imo. If it was me I would be semi gutting the rear mufflers now. But I agree with michael on what he says about the duals.

New little project to potter away with. Strip, media blast, repaint phoenix yellow and rebuild them as BMWP units.

You could get two better cars for the price of one of these. Besides the fact that they're fugly they're seriously overrated, just get an M3.

Call up wrecker for part, N52 rocker cover, asks for payment ($180) first. Transfer funds, go to pick it up a day later and the part is more busted than the original, so refuse it. 3 weeks later still no refund...... One more day then I rubbish you online.

"Car has been freshly painted not 100% but still a very good paint job" How does a blind person come to legally own and operate a car?

I thought the car drove well before but the Bilsteins made the ride nice and tight, I’m running factory Mtech springs. Picture from this mornings Whitford/Beachlands drive

An interesting article. I like the shape but not the pricing for the current offering on TradeMe. When the article is talking about a 10 HP difference between the older M Coupe and the 3.0L (228 HP) Coupe, the comparison is with the S52B32 (240 HP) USA engine not the S50B32 (321 HP) engine that we got in the older M Coupe.
