Knocking turned out to be Meyle HD mounts. I had all the boot trim off, lying in boot whilst someone drove the car and you couldn't pin point where the noise was coming from, sounded like a mount noise though so i disconnected the shocks and it was gone. Not exactly sure why they failed as nothing visibly wrong with them. Car was on jack stands for a couple of week which may have contributed to it, but my Ti had a similar noise with the same mounts and replacing those solved it also. Turns out im just one of many people to have problems with them knocking after a short period, ive never had an issue with Meyle HD stuff until now. Will avoid in the future and go with more cushioned Sachs\Lemforder mounts. Tried another DME to see if that would fix my cruise control situation but no change so likely a faulty clutch module. Replacement for the lost one is supposedly on its way from UK. Faded L\H reverse light was annoying me so that's been replaced to match the other side Likely the only non OE features ill be adding to the car. Bit of insurance and security never hurts. Viofo A139 dash cams and my old Uniden R1 Mfactory Helical LSD.

6 speed manual with all the m-sport goodies (seats, suspension, staggered wheels). Don't be put off by the km's this car has had no expense spared on the mechanicals as the kids were driving it and in our ownership it's been 1 hour+ journey's at motorway speeds. Brand new 12 month WOF (10/06/2022), RUC's up to date, new clutch at Christmas, new windscreen last week, Hankook Ventus S1 Evo 2 (255/40/17 - rear) and Hankook K127 (225/45/17 - front) and a removable towbar. We get over 1100kms a tank doing 5.2l/100km. Aircon runs well, AUX in, some pixel issues on the stereo when the weather is hot but can still read everything. There are some cosmetic issues as you would expect from a first car. A supermarket ding, kerbed alloys and stone chips from the motorway miles. Interior is in excellent condition though. All maintenance in our ownership done by Mike Page European in Kapiti. Car will come with new standard issue number plate and not this personalised plate. 268k kms Asking $7k Located in Kapiti. We had a quick look at the i4 e40. Here is our quick take on it: - it's probably one of the best/better EV in the market as a drivers car. However compared to our M5, it's very much softer even on sports mode. I am not sure if the i4 had adaptive suspension, I think all M spec version should be fitted with one. It did feel stiffer on sports mode. - acceleration from standstill is really good even if its just e40, in fact for me 300-400 hp is what I prefer for a street car. More than that is not fun in the public road, so the 340hp e40 variant is on the sweet spot. However I can say beyond 80km/h the M5 V10 is very much competitive or better - it's interior is great, the screen is great (not as fluid as a Tesla though). The seats (it didn't have the most expensive optioned seat) are actually better than a normal car but its actually not as nice as the old leather seats of the M5 both feel and support (however I got my M5 seats dialed to me already, so maybe if I spend more time on i4 it could be just as good) - the individual dravit grey paint is so much better over brooklyn grey (there was a M440i beside it on with this color), this is probably the best color for a i4, M4, M3 or 4 series. The big kidney livable with this color. - hans zimmer sound on the i4 for me actually makes it better, unlike other EVs which has no sound or very cheesy sound. But I guess it's no substitute for ICE sound, especially from a V10 NA - the driving assistance is good, or I like it as it seems to be less intrusive. btw the AEB got tested, a ute cut us off and slowed down aggressively. Not sure why, because we on an EV or BMW... or both. I think i4 e40 is a great choice if you want a drivers car EV, the e40 is also very efficient close to a Tesla Model 3. However it's very costly, at almost $120k for the example we tested. For $120k, you can get a M5 ($40k) and Tesla Model Y ($80k - $9 subsidy) plus some change. If you had $120k, which would you pick? P.S. Thank you to G. Yang of Continental cars BMW, he is great to chat with.

I have AA, 3 claims, contents and vehicle, vehicle was done to an excellent standard (was very minor), first contents also excellent, one now has been easy but slow, COVID apparently. No complaints, fair premiums, discounts for combined and the Aa membership is pretty much paid for in discounts on insurance and wof.

The ultimate motorway cruiser. We bought this car to travel the country with our kids sport but as they have now left home we don't do the car justice and have bought an i3. It's my wife's daily driver so has had no expense spared and all maintenance has been done by Mike Page European in Kapiti. Heated front seats, bluetooth, cruise control, heads-up display, comfort access, PS4's all around, PDC, Xenon lights, adaptive headlights, aircon, park assist, backup camera etc. We usually get over 800kms to a tank at 7.2l/100km. With 600Nm this car is a joy on the open road. Just had the inlet manifold and swirl flaps replaced with genuine parts. 193000 kms with loads of service history. Asking $17500 Located in Kapiti. Full details on the auction and listed elsewhere. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/3683503387?bof=7yiLyW0w

Just some updates. M5 developed a small leak on the diff, I had a look and diagnosed the leak is from the pinion seal. Bought some parts from FCP Euro, they where actually very cheap. Decided for the upgraded Corteco seal as its advertised to be better and fixes the design flaw of the original BMW seal. Since Auto 38 has closed, we decided to use Powerhaus as Mike Page is too far away. We have used Powerhaus for our Cayenne before, they are very good although long wait times and they are on the expensive side. However their work is always top-notch and always give you the honest diagnosis. We also asked them to replace the SMG hydraulic, gear oil, diff oil and brake fluid. Diff oil was replaced with Liqui Moly, however even though this advertised to be in spec with the LSD diff. Some LSD BMW diff may need more friction modifiers, TSB: SIB330102 which required the fluid that had more FM. Our car seems to have this binding issue, so we decided to add some RedLine Friction Modifiers, which worked really well. Pretty much all fluids are now replaced, all consumables on the car are almost new.

I have 3 cars with AA and 2 with classic cover. Recent claim with AA was great. Filed online. They called me and went over the details. Picked whatever panel shop I wanted in town. Place I wanted had a two month wait time which they were happy if I was happy. Also had contents for the house with them until my mortgage holder forced me to change to their crap. State can get stuffed. They are a nightmare to deal with. Entire family dumped them. They caused me some serious headaches when I was young.

Titan is SOLD (the new owner is keen as), onwards with focus turning back towards Topaz, with a full prep and paint Summer coming up. Also on Biarritz a power steering hose is going on as well as new under car plastic covers (today's job). Biarritz also needs full paint, but is OK in meantime whilst I practice more...

The E60 M5 is known for its high-revving 500hp V10 engine but not everyone knows where else it was used: 2005–2010 E60/E61 M5 2005–2010 E63/E64 M6 2009–2010 Wiesmann GT MF5 2011 Wiesmann Roadster MF5 V10 daHLer Schwaben Folia Black Bat, upgraded to 600hp 2005–2007 Fisker Latigo CS V10: 1 prototype and one production car, upgraded to 650 hp 2009–2013 Vermot Veritas RS III: 30 cars built, upgraded to 600hp Aside from these uses, the BMW M team decided they'd get involved too, and built the E60 M5 CSL. The colour scheme was chosen to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the M5, and it was the first M5 to have a carbon fiber roof. The 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V10 was tuned to produce 630 PS (621 horsepower) at 8,750 rpm and the M5 CSL was the first BMW to use the Getrag seven-speed DCT which was later used in the E92 M3 and other M cars.
