Hey guys reluctantly selling what has been an amazing car to own, my NZ NEW 4.6is in Estoril Blue. 1 of 29 delivered new to NZ in the 2003 year, unsure of how many of those were Estoril Blue. Have owned it for about a year now having used it mostly for big road trips & then 2-3 days a week to the park n ride. Have driven up 90 mile beach to cape rienga & multiple trips to the bach. Currently sits at 197,000km’s with most major work having been done in the last 20,000km’s. Will come with complete service history dating back to 2012 along with original handbooks/manuals, 2 keys & sale agreement. Work done mechanically includes window regulators, cooling system replaced, rocker cover gaskets, spark plugs, ignition coils, handbrake lever, cv boots, tie rods, timing chains, gear position switch, starter motor, battery, rotors & pads, boot-lid mechanism, fuel pipe set, abs control unit, PDC sensors & most recently the alternator. Interior is black nappa leather over Titan shadow trim. Heated seats, cruise control, blah blah I’m sure most of you will decode the vin yourselves. My partner & I have recently got engaged & are planning on moving across the pond hence the sale. Not in any rush right now as would like to see this go to a caring new owner. Still a great car to this day, only thing letting it down is the paint (Bonnet could do with a respray & the front bumper is scratched/slightly dented from previous owner). Would be worth the investment on getting it back to its former glory. Feel free to contact me anytime however I may take a little while to respond depending on time of day. My number is 021 265 5240 or you can check out the Instagram @estblau. I’m sure you know values for these everywhere else have risen, however unfortunately I don’t have the time to wait for the NZ market to catch up. Price is $8,500 for bimmersport, will post on trademe soon.

Have recently changed my e46 m3 for an F80 so are inspired to do another audio build. My previous system evolved over a 5 year period was raspberry pi based and was controlled by the bmw Nav head unit. Had dsp and 2 x components speakers front and back and a ski pass vented subwoofer. Audio was digital to dsp and music was mainly from lossless Flac cd rips. Amps were 110 rms x 4 class AB and 600 rms class D on bass. System was tuned to run up to 80% of amplifier power to avoid clipping. For a car audio system it sounded quite good. Move forward 14 years in tech the F80 is far better in terms of taking most forms of usb / Bluetooth/ DVD audio sources. This one has NTB id4 which is the last of the text based menu system and the build is 6 months too early to get the newer gui interface and CarPlay/ Android auto software. The F80 I have has been imported so spec is interesting. Has connected bmw modules, can self park , lane control etc but has only the base audio system for some reason. But from my point of view it’s ideal for an audio upgrade as not too many speakers to replace. This thread will be about uplifting the audio system to above HK level. Pic courtesy of Pete

When SH5 is shut, some idiot tried the Gentle Annies instead, and ignored the road closed signs in an M850i 🤣

So with the base audio the car has a total of 6 speakers . Each door has one 100 mm driver so four in total. These run full range so do treble as well. No dedicated tweeters in this system ☹️ Under seat woofers on base audio have a smaller 6.5 inch woofer. Amp wise the NTB head unit connects to a box called Active Sound Design. This has a 4 channel amplifier and also has a synthetic car engine sound that is mixed with the audio. The sound curve is Bose esk so it has boosted treble and bass. Sound lacks clarity, highs are missing and bass is centred around kick drum. However, either the door position it does image quite well. The NTB Ida head unit seems quite versatile. It can be coded for various audio setups with a combination of both analogue two wire 4 channel output to most25 fibre optic based multi channel audio as used in the HK logic 7 systems. The key for me will be finding a coded version that produces a flat unequalised output but still does things like audio steering the sound for parking sensors and the other systems in the bmw that have an audio input. Audio input wish I’ll be using usb audio inputs so 256 gig thumb drive with 8000 ish lossless tracks and phone via snap in adapter which is also usb audio. It has other sources such as dvd / cd and enhanced Bluetooth. Although enhanced Bluetooth really means it’s just the basic audio streaming protocol and none of the later aptx or apple atmos / lossless enabled standards.

This. Try living 150 metres from the Headhunters HQ in Mt Wellington (edit: sorry I meant the "Fight Club" because of course it's not a gang headquarters at all, despite the row of dumped, tinted, black Mercs out front). Add the gunshots in the middle of the night as the 'Bees fire shotguns at their windows, ugh. Since moved to Epsom, no longer a problem.

Yes me and my wife was contemplating about it due to her health issues. Having sold my old R34 Skyline and likely to sell her Cayenne in the summer; For now we have decided to keep her M5, but if the right offer comes we are open to the idea of letting it go. My wife is doing better now, in fact last Sunday's meeting up and breakfast with fellow BMWs was her first time to eat out in months. So we are likely to keep the M5 as long as we can. @Mantic you can see my start of journey on the thread below, some info there maybe useful in considering if E60 M5 is a car you would want to own I have a thread regarding our ownership, which I update every now and then. This guy in youtube is a good follow as well, fun fact when I bought our M5 there was 4 M5 at the dealer. I picked ours out of the 4, while a few weeks after he picked the other one which he currently owns. https://www.youtube.com/c/MTechGuy I think the M5 E60 is a great car, but its not for everyone. What I think was the best thing about the ownership is not the car, but rather the people you get to know while owning the car. People here in bimmersport, mechanics that will service your car and general car community.

Not quite a 991, only a 997.2 Carrera S. Is a 6 speed manual and the last generation with hydraulic steering though and it is also unfortunately not mine It's my mother's former daily driver, now a weekend toy as she daily drives a Smart Fortwo! The neighbour's roll their eyes with the plethora of unique and strange vehicles that frequent the house 🤣
