Got the car back from paint shop late last week, spent the last few days putting it back together.. exterior is almost complete but have a lot of work to do inside. I was really unsure about repainting it white but I'm very happy with how she's turned out. What colour number plates should I go with? (seem to be pretty topical at the moment). A few pics of it in the driveway.. really looking forward to it getting some new wheels (more to come here).

I would think that would look really sweet with the new black and silver plates. The white body with black details is always a classic combo I feel.

I also kind-of think that the black plates look better on older/classic cars, they don’t seem to look right on new cars to me.

"Selling as is as I don’t want to good through the grief of repairing the trans" Translation: I dont want to fix the transmission because a transmission rebuild costs ~5k, which is what the car is worth.

An E34 540i is one of the best value BMWs going IMO.

59900 kms, 2013, NZ new In actual fact, while buttoning up everything, something else was leaking coolant. There was an O ring under the turbo that also leaked. I suspect it's the age of the car where everything starts to leak. Annoyingly, there was no indication that anything was wrong apart from the one "engine temp' message that flashed, and the fact that the reservoir level was down below the Min level. The engine's response itself was restricted by the ECU, but there was no code, no warning light, nothing, nada. But without any code you would think that the car had always been that 'slow'. This is my son's car and he's just got back from finishing his year-long TI at another city so I'd just been able to drive his car. Don't know how long this had been an issue.
