The issue with over exposure to the (TradeMe) marketplace is that the desirability for want of a better word is killed by listing with a price expectation that is beyond the previous recorded sale price. Both the BMW and Porsche sections, and other brands too have many examples, for instance a 1M advertised by FarmerBill listed from memory in 2017, and still listed, this M5 too has suffered, all the E36 M Coupes remain unsold, plus quite a few E36 and E46 M3's as well. Surely a better marketing strategy is to run a car for a month, low inquiry rate or no interest, pull the listing and revisit both the advert and price, all of us on this forum know where the market is ........... Just my two cents worth.........😁

People confuse TM with Bringatrailer and think that NZ is a marketplace that has same population as the US and magically there will be price wars.

Hallo! I'm the proud new owner of a e85 Z4. 3.0 6speed manual softtop :) It needs a bit of TLC but I think (hope) nothing too serious...... I would love some direction in finding the answers to the following questions. 1. The history is a little suspicious. It was purchased new in NZ but the first owner let the registration lapse and registered when he sold it. No km driven the the latter two years of ownership. Sounds like maybe an acident? Is there anyway I can find out? There is evidence of a resprayed front wing. The car is registered as a 5 speed... but clearly it has 6. 2. To add insult to injury the wheel shop could not get the wheel alignment in spec. The camber of the front right wheel is not as negative as it should be but the shop assured me it was close enough. To be honest the steering does feel a bit vague especially on a straight road. I may be a little spoilt as the last BMW I drove a lot of was a e85 Z4M with sport suspension and 20" rims. The steering was sharp even if the ride was hard as nails.... 3. There is a quiet clunk as I decelerate and accelerate in 1st gear. any ideas? Many thanks Dirk

Those bearings look brand new. Much better than the remains of mine 😀

We certainly have a lower population and smaller pool of prospective buyers. Similar number of lowballing a-holes, though.

Have been forging ahead with the e39. Has its first new warrant and rego since 2014! Was failed second time round on the broken inner mirror surround, so temp fixed that with some expanding foam and a layer of epoxy, and a rear arm outer Spherical bush. So replaced both left and right arms and now good to go. following day had it booked for a detail and now have it looking brand new…ish. Paint was all dull and stained, but that’s all gone, but now can notice all the deep chips and scratches. So will get some touch up paint and try tidy them up a bit. Next issue Issue to sort last night was no lower cluster lights around the lcd display. Gauges are all lit but not there. So pulled it out to replace the lamps but tested them first and all working, so had a google and everything I found was for the while dash, not just that bit so back to square one. Also tried the “piezo trick” to fix the missing pixels. Managed to get one line working but then it killed the whole display. But a power cycle fixed that and my fixed line wasn’t going again. So need to replace the ribbon, or the whole cluster to sort the lighting issue as well. oh, also started wrapping the wood trim with a brushed alloy. Not sure if I’m sold on it or not.

Offer him 30-35k, if he declines he doesn't actually want to sell or is too greedy.

I've ordered from Spareto MANY times and never had card issues, so probably coincidental

Hi all Very pleased to find a NZ Bimmer community. I just purchased my first NZ Bimmer, a 2017 F30 340i M-Sport, after driving my Nissan Skyline 350GT Manual for about ten years. I previously owned a 1989 325i which I loved dearly, then a 1998 523i, then a 2001 530d and now, finally, my now-dream-car. I'm also originally from South Africa, and have lived here for 12+ years, now a Kiwi citizen. Very keen to peel back the layers on this car soon and get some more of the unexposed power brought to the surface. Hope to see you all out there. Riaan

Hi people. I've bought a 130i to use for Targa Tour with my son and also track day duties. I'll be selling the 85 AW11 racecar I have had for the past 22 years as I think I've done my dash with club type racing. There's a couple of things to sort on the car, so there'll be a few questions asked and WTB's put in!! Cheers Simon

Hey folks, been lurking around here most of last year keeping an eye on E30 stuff as I searched for one and now that I've finally got my hands on one thought I'd say hello 😀 Here she is - some of you who have been watching E30 TradeMe might recognise this one. 1991 318i auto 4d, obviously not quite the pinnacle of E30s but respectable enough I think - and managed to get her at a non-insane price, which is probably more than what can be said for what's on the market these days. Have been entertaining the thoughts of a M42 + manual swap but for now will just be getting her nice and cleaned up and addressing any problems as they show up. Got a lot to learn so I'll probably have quite a few questions in the future.

Hi guys, I’m new here, just bought a pretty original 1986 E30 325i. Really happy with it, and it reminds me of my 1986 318i (mm6046), that I owned 19 years ago, and wished I’d never sold it! I flew to Hamilton to pick it up last weekend, and drive it home to Canterbury, mostly trouble free. It was a great time. Anyway, I’m sure I’ll have plenty of questions coming up, and certainly a few photos too! Looking forward to it!
