The Government plans to begin charging for free data, including accurate stolen vehicle status, in October 2023 as part of the planned "Fees review". I appreciate the need to save/acquire money, but surely this is a service, and not a chargeable opportunity? Carjam has a petition running to try to get this decision reversed: https://petitions.parliament.nz/8c2c524b-aab2-46c1-aec4-08db97b83688

On the android upgrade question I just put this into my wifes 130i. https://avinusa.com/10-25-multimedia-navigation-system-for-bmw-1-series-2-series-f20-f21-f22-f23-f87.html android 12, 8gb RAM, 128gb storage,720P version. reverse cam. ended up being $880NZD landed. I looked around for ages, read forums etc where people say avinusa isnt really usa based etc but they still seemed to have the best deal. Only had it in the car a few days but just did a road trip to taupo and back and it worked great. It's large but doesnt really impair any vision. touch screen works great. all the steering wheen buttons work, didnt even have to hook up to the aux outlet. must do it within the wiring harness somehow.

If you're going to get one, get it in the right colour. This is the right colour.

Needs to be white, then it could have been Rosco P. Coltranes!

Mileage is steady and appears to have had decent life being 1 owner and imported in NZ early on. K's mean very little in regards to engine health but you'd do the relevant tests on it anyway. Suspension is stuffed on most old BMW's regardless so you'd likely be replacing most of it if not already done.

Welcome, @Murray2023 nice gokart. The BMW Car Club NZ Welly Crew have a monthly pub night - a get-together for a feed, a social beverage or two, and to tell whoppers about BMWs and other topics - all are welcome. Details found in the Wellington room here: https://bimmersport.co.nz/forum/26-wellington/ We also have reasonably regular coffee meets, runs, overnight trips etc. Come along, learn more about our active club!

So 5 years to the day after my wife's Golf GTI got side swiped by a kid learning to drive while we were having breakfast at the local cafe, the M5 got backed into at the same cafe. Thankfully both times someone witness and recorded the whole thing for me and then found me to provide all the evidence. Without sounding like a racist POS, the "taxi" driver in a Prius backed into it, got out, freaked the f*ck out and then ran for it. So I need a new drivers headlight, support panels, guard and possibly liner which had some rubbing on the way home, front bumper is cracked and possibly the bonnet has a tweak. Who do I go to when insurance asks to get this properly fixed and not just thrown together and kicked out the door. In this age of CCTV and cell phone cameras why do people think they can get away with this sort of BS. This picture is after I pulled everything off the tire, I only got a wheel alignment done two days ago FFS!
