Hi there, I've done about 6 of these. I have timing tools etc. Generally I like to drop the engine and do everything which makes life much easier. But You can just remove the trans and do it in place.

So I have finally joined the 130i club, albeit with an auto. It has KW V3 suspension and certainly feels very nice in the corners even with cheap chines front tyres. The ride is quite forgiving and bump absorption is impressive. Its a bit low for my liking but of course being adjustable I might raise it a cm or two yet. It does have some weeping from the Vanos solenoids so I will sort that in due course. The car was cheap because I bought it with a slight shudder in the transmission. The seller was sure it has a ZF trans but I can only references to the GM 6L45 box on the internet. Its an August 2008 car with an N52k.Anyway I will look to get the trans serviced or do it myself when I can get access to a hoist. Is there a simple way to identify what transmission it has. Vin Checker and Real OEM weren't much use. Real OEM offered both transmissions as an option. Funnily my Daughter has already claimed it as her car, we will see about that.

Washed pre its final inspection and getting it cert plate stuck on... then can get back to smashing the final few k's at it before the new lump goes in, refuse to pull it before it has 300,000 on the clock

Finally installed the Brintech headers, they give you a sick little raspy growl when you hit the gas, but stay pretty chill otherwise. Perfect combo for a little sleeper. FullSizeRender.MOV

Oh no I was a lowly FLIV. But we’re able to order any car we want including individual options like my colours and just pay the difference to our company car allowance.

Hi guys, I’m new here, just bought a pretty original 1986 E30 325i. Really happy with it, and it reminds me of my 1986 318i (mm6046), that I owned 19 years ago, and wished I’d never sold it! I flew to Hamilton to pick it up last weekend, and drive it home to Canterbury, mostly trouble free. It was a great time. Anyway, I’m sure I’ll have plenty of questions coming up, and certainly a few photos too! Looking forward to it!

I reckon the play is buy two cheap ones. What are the chances the exact same things break on both?

Hi everyone Matt here from Christchurch. I'm a fitter/fabricator by trade and my work is customizing vehicles for people with disabilities. I own an 1986 E23 728i. Purchased the car last year and have been slowly working through tidying it up and putting my touch on it. The car is NZ New with 186,000km. Only rust is a couple of small spots in the sunroof. Car is generally tidy underneath and the only obligatory oil leak is coming from the front crank seal. I'll do a full build thread but the plan for the next 12 months or so is to order Coilovers, build some custom strut braces and focus on getting the suspension set up nicely. Once that's done I have a full manual conversion waiting to go in but it only has a 4 speed box so I need to find a getrag 260 for it. Finally I'm going to fit a M30B35 and piece together a turbo kit for it. I'm not planning any specific motor sport with it, but once I get it setup we'll I'm looking to do the odd Autocross event and track day. I've owned a few BMWs over the years. E82 135i N55 DCT stage 2 tuned, a couple of E46, E60 540i, F10 530D and an E53. I love bmws and my dream is to have a manual converted V10 E60 M5 one day (when fuel prices aren't so horrendous!)

Hi everyone, I can't for the life of me remember my old login details so I've created a new account to start fresh! Long story short - had a stint living over in Europe/UK, came back to NZ and have gotten my mitts on another E36. I won't ruin this one with flouro wheels, sticker bombs and rusty bonnets though, went for more of an OEM(ish) build over the last 6 months. She's in for cert with Paul next week, so will be 100% more legal than the last one. Meet, Delilah: OEM+ updates: ✅ M Sport exterior. IE: bumpers and twisty sideskirts, side trim, and clears ✅ Style 66 wheels (E39 offset) ✅ 5 speed ZF manual conversion ✅ M3 3.2 clutch + flywheel ✅ ZHP shift knob ✅ E46 purple tag steering rack ✅ Headliner retrimmed in M Rain ✅ Woodgrain trim updated to black/grey to match dash ✅ Antenna and airbox baffle delete Non OEM updates: ✅ CUPHOLDERS (3D printed so technically not OEM) ✅ Fancywide rear diffuser ✅ Height + camber adjustable coilovers ✅ LED flasher bulbs Few things I'm after, I'll make a WTB post also but if you have any of these spare pls give me a buzz! M50 intake/aux thermostat. P/N: 13541730682 6cyl rear exhaust section inc free flowing back box. Eg: Supersprint, Remus, Borla, Magnaflow etc. E36 coupe roof racks or any bike transport solution. Any cheap subwoofer solutions floating about? Under seat preferred but will consider trunk option also. E36 glovebox torch(es), white coloured. P/n 82119413147 Vader restoration - have priced up skins from a few outfits overseas, but keen to hear from anyone that's restored Vaders locally in NZ. LSD, any options considered

Hey Team, Mat here from Palmerston North and currently building an 1984 E30 323i into a drag/track car. Have been swapping the m20b23 from jetronic to motronic and now in the process of turboing her. Should have another m20b23 engine soon that I will be doing a full rebuild on but finishing this one to just get her going and learn the drag tree etc. Also still trying to learn more about this car etc one of the old owners had a cage and xyz adjustable suspension put in by speedfactor in tauranga but have no paperwork nor any other info on what has been done of modified before me. Cheers

99 problems and an E6x is guaranteed to be one of them. In all seriousness, damn!.

I would suggest that given that line up 10 is the right number to make sure you always have one that is drivable!!

Hi all, thought I’d make an account after seeing a bit of talk about my M3 (RASPY). Not usually the type to join forums as I never have the time to be as active as I should but here goes nothing... 😆 just moved to a new phone so don’t have many detailed pics of my car(s) but rest assured I’ll upload some on the next sunny day.
