Ok UPDATE time. So after cooking my clutch down at eurohaus a few weekends back I am taking the car off the road for yet another overhaul. This time I will be replacing the clutch and flywheel along with the gearbox as im taking it out anyway to get to the clutch and I don't think that the gettrag 220 will handle the repower I have planned. Also planning to get new coilovers as my koni yellows have come to the end of their life . When it rains it pours! Anyway as for clutch and gearbox I have picked up a ZF 5 speed box and a stage 4 competition clutch kit w/ lighten flywheel. As for coils I’m unsure of what Brand/Setup to get. I will be tracking the car a fair bit but it’s still my daily. Any input on coils and setups would be good. Will be starting the gearbox and clutch this weekend until then here are some pics

A NZ new E46 M3 SMG- good service history (18k till next service), all recalls up to date. No rust, no smoker Recent starter, alternator and battery. Running Hankook V12 - a bloody great tire for NZ. amazing dry and wet grip and not unbearable loud like michelin pilots. Less than 3k on them These are a great car. I love it. Makes a country drive so much fun. fly into corners, 2 - 3 changes down on the paddle shifters under braking and power out. Find myself driving to the coast for coffee - just because. The sound of the S54 with the windows down though the buller gorge is to die for. I know some of you won't like the SMG but I love it. It's not like a torque converter automatic but it does the job. (the missus drives in auto mode, I drive it with the paddles onlyHave two other M Cars. While this is the most used of them, the f'ed up roads in CHCH just aren't fair on it. So I brought a Prado for commuting. car is in great nick but it's not immaculate. Some stone chips on the nose, a bit of rash on the lower splitter from my driveway and the usual bit of curb rash. Sunroof needs the usual track clip replacement, which I have not got around to. Would consider trades and difference for an 1M, E30 M3, or Z3M Coupe or interesting BMW. After $20K ono give me a call if serious 021 337 946 Michael

If you have a mechanical warranty then why not get it looked at by a specialist? Depending who you are with, diagnostic costs are cover once the claim is accepted.

I brought a freeview terrestrial tuner kit for the BMW TV module www.pibus.info . I hate having a module that didn't work. Use to watch TV in the car whilst parked up when waiting for the wife to finish work. Not into driving and TV , but its handy to have the audio only sometimes. I decided not to go with the USB input for playing media or the ir input. The TV module is still controlled from board monitor. BMW tuner module Circuit board. Tuner module converting to smb aerial connectors. Drill a couple of new holes for new antenna connectors Module finished. Next stage, connecting iphone video output to TV tuner aux in.

Today marks 100 years of the BMW AG. In prep for the 100 year anniversary drive with the BMW ccnz I spent about 350 minutes cleaning the M5. First clay bar and wax since the ocd treatment last November. Before : After :

progress Today I picked up the push rod to change gears. I've had to extend the linkage between the gearbox and the shifter as the seat is as far back as I can get it. the short linkage is uuc, the long is a copy from a friend. SSSHHHH. don't tell. Its 315mm long from hole to hole. The other part is the adaptor to hold the rear brake callipers in place as they are not factory fit. This still has some work before I'm happy. Shifter is from https://www.facebook.com/npparts.lt/ cool guy. And you got to train the young.
