Given a couple of recent posts I've seen it's probably time to drag this up again. It would be really helpful to understand, as of 2024, exactly what the ask/offer is. Is it to "buy" bimmersport, is it to save it from being turned off and disappearing, is it to run it for the current owners? From an enthusiast community perspective I'm keen to see the forum stick around as it's a wealth of NZ-specific knowledge, but not really looking for an entire side-business, so would be good to understand how things currently lie. Cheers, Matt

Fixed it. I might be moving house in the near future so will probably take the site down for good unless someone wants to take this over from Ollie and Andrew. Talk to them and not me, there have been some threads in the past about them wanting to hand the site over to someone else.

It was Ollie that I spoke to. I'll give him a call tomorrow.

I spoke with the owners a few years ago, but no numbers were mentioned. I did get the impression that something would be required, despite a feeling that the whole 'looking after the forum' aspect was more of a chore than a labour of love. I think I was waiting for a further comms but nothing came of it. The time may now be right. A fresh injection of enthusiasm could be a wonderful thing.

Can’t stand Gazleys , I’ll be going to Sutherland Performance for the Golf if I need more than an oil change. Powerhaus - haven’t used for a while but they use to be good, just real far away from my house. Wellington European - get the job done but I’ve had a few instances where I felt a bit done over. one time we needed rear pads and they up sold me rotors as well, that I wasn’t that keen on and then when I went to pay they gave me a discount because they said it didn’t really need them. Second was a DSG service that when l went to pick it up was way more expensive as they quoted for 6 speed wet clutch and it was a 7 speed dry clutch so they had to get fluid from gazleys, however at 60,000km the dry clutch wasn’t due for 120,000km so I was a bit miffed they didn’t call me, or acknowledge it didn’t even need to be done. ive been using MJ motors in Miramar for anything E46 as they seem happy for me to supply parts and it’s a small local business, my car is old though so isn’t anything to specialized to work on.

Never mind the over-priced Beetle, what about the wagon in the background..?

992 GT3 in Martinborough. Sounded a bit poo with the DSG farts though, I thought they all used to be manual.

Finally had a spare moment to fill the diff and refit the exhaust on the m3 last night. Also fitted my new intake. Now need to redo that hose to the booster round the back to make it look a bit nicer.

That is potentially the worst looking vehicle I've laid eyes upon.

Still much cheaper to get from schmiedmann. 167usd shipped from ECS, 98usd shipped from Schmiedmann. They are almost always by far the cheapest for genuine parts like this in my experience.
