Bolt a 2 litre FE series in it [ from a E2000 / econo / Cosmo/ 929 / B2000 / Courier ] the 1800 and the 2000 are the same series engine [ FE ] but the 2 litre has a 25mm taller block for the extra stroke So it's a bolt in! If its only the shortblock that you need, a FWD Telstar can be used [ the RWD heads have 90 degree distributor drive] "Bitch please, I am just as successful at throwing money away in this hobby as the next person!" But don't you worry sunshine, success is only a dollar away.........

Where can I find this mythical guaranteed sale? People never compare "apples for apples". they look at the cheapest high mileage car oversea and compare it with a high ASKING priced mint car in NZ. [asking price is different from selling price ] High dollar cars nearly always take a trade, so the price of unloading this has to be allowed for Add to this , exchange rates, shipping, compliance costs, registration costs , airline tickets or agents fees and GST etc etc by the time you go the whole exercise, which can take months you would have made more money doing a second job after hours Unless this is your profession , import the car if you really want to own one for yourself

I have a set of US M3 exhaust manifolds on my 328 The US M3 exhaust manifolds are identical to South African 328 manifolds [ I had both ] They are a simple 2 x 3 into 1 system. The US M3 and the SA 328 are totally different animals yet they have the same exhaust manifolds which either says the manifolds are pretty good standard or exhausts manifolds are not that critical [ with cats and mufflers ] Unless you get them cheap or free [ like me ] don't waste your time get a good aftermarket set

I've done a couple [ including a RHD back to LHD ] The average cost used to be $10K but I believe it is now creeping up with eletronics, airbag dashes etc [ $16k + ] The biggest expense is time [ you are constantly tinkering with trivial sh*t ] If you are to do an early[ish] car , try and buy a wreck for parts it will be cheaper overall PS: on the subject of E30 M3's , from what I'm lead to believe is they're all LHD [ my brother did a RHD conversion to a Red E30 M3 back in the 90's while working at the "Healey Shop" in Tga, he said it was a time consuming nightmare ]

What colour Mate! I've got a full set in Black with dark grey inserts [ BMW colour ] The inserts have just been recovered but I don't need them in a race-car

Ok! it's still on the car, but easily removed. This is a factory dealer retro-fitted option in SA 328's Touch base when you're ready

its a light grey colour to suit the dark grey/ black interior. it's all been recovered in the factory style velour. I'm selling 1; headliner 2; 2 x A pillars 3; 2 x C pilars 4; Sunroof insert 5; Sunroof switch panel insert 7 pieces all recovered and matched from the same cloth

use the old "tried and true" method of defense, which is Lie . You weren't parked at all, it had a mechanical problem . eg the car wouldn't go into gear. You're not allowed to park at an intersection [ stop sign ] but you still have to stop there. A smart negotiator could reduce her / his requests to the rediculous. Firstly: Ask what the consequences are, if your request is denied [ a sarcastic comment like "can you control other peoples bodily functions" helps here also ] They usually comment that they "never deny anybody permission" in their defence You then ask "why is permission needed then, if it is always granted?" and "why don't we all ask for permission now, in the interests of efficiency" Basically this Bosses requests are a "power trip" trying to suppress employees by demeaning them. They have displayed their weakness [ or insecurity ] to you with their petty requests Throw the truth back in their face , by reducing it to the rediculous Any high pressure saleperson or interogator uses this technique to overcome objections

Hey Westy! You can improve your cars appearance by putting duct tape across the headlights [ for that real bad-assed look put some tape over your rev counter as well ]

Give it a go mate, you're only 18 so if you borrow millions and trip yourself up you have the rest of your life ahead of you. You need knowledge thats all. Forget all the well meaning cliche advice [ spread your risk, balanced portfolio blah blah etc ] I was a share trader and a broker in 1987-88 and made [ & LOST ] a fortune but had a ton of fun doing it. Forget all the Gee Whizz graphs and other forms of future predicting, work out risk to reward ratios [ and retracements ] then go looking for movement [ or volume ] There is a good book called " Zurich Axioms " by Max Gunther which teaches the psychology of investing in any comodity . READ IT I think it is now available free as an E-Book [ it's the best advice for anybody to have ]

Never fear , they only make them LHD in China.[ we won't get em ] Most of them are made under license to a parent manufacturer [ in the west ] but to get Tax advantages vs huge import Taxes the car manufacturer sets up a factory over there and gets Govt funding to start a whole new marque They also have a lot of obsolete "new" models over there. I was cruising around in a 2004 Jeep Cherokee which was made obsolete in 1997 in NZ VW Santana's are everywhere as taxis, "Roewe" is the old Rover brand , older Diahatsu Charades are made as "Geely's" etc etc The car manufacturers love China, because the market has an insatiable apetite for cars , plus they can built older models with cheap labour and material costs [ from an accounting perspective the profit is greater for the investment made ] Even though GM went broke, the Buick division in China was making record profits If you think these are forgeries google "Yamaha China" to see all the legal action they and the Chinese Govt took to close down all the copy's [ China has strict intellectual property laws, but catching the offenders and a bit of corruption creates some enforcement difficulties ] I've also seen Honoa & Suzoki motorbikes over there [ a bit blatant ]

While on the subject of crossed wires , I will confirm that you can put the whole rotating assembly from a M52B28 into a M50 iron block [ I have one sitting on my engine stand ] The mystery is solved haha!

Unfortunately the best rev limiter in the world cannot save your engine if you downshift too early. Keeping your foot hard on the gas while downshifting into corners could also be hard on the brakes!!! It's a driving technique I dont want to try and master yet. Any takers out there???

Thanks guys! Remember if you keep it on the limiter, you can't overrev it when you miss a gear [ it's easier to catch again ] The formula is Torque x RPM = Power, so rev it harder . Now I've justified my bad habits.

The Toe-Out is usually the problem , you are scuffing the outer edges on the straights [ plus it'll be real fun under hard braking ] The Old skool of thinking was to use toe-out to counteract "camber thrust" [ when 2 cone shaped wheels drive towards each other ] Nowadays they use "Dynamic Camber" [ induced ] instead of Static Camber [ when it's parked ] Look at the front of a Open Wheeler and you'll notice the upper wishbone points down in the centre [ some cars have shorter upper wishbones for a similar effect on compression , but they also get unwanted negative on droop ] A MacPherson strut [ especially when lowered , 'as all cars should be' ] will inherently induce dynamic negative when compressed and less under droop [ simple triangulation here ] so it can do with less static negative. Putting too large a tyre on a skinny rim will also wear the outer edge, because the outer sidewall tries to stand-up under hard cornering loads while the inner sidewall lays flat. Good to see you are "Trail Braking" , using this technique can be hard on tyres especially if you overcook it, You should try a diamond pattern on the Apex, it's a really good 'Dive Bombing" technique to learn for short track dual sprints [ hard on Tyres though ] Keep Having Fun , 'cause the prize money ain't that great
