No Problem Mate! [ As usual when you do someone a favor it is usually more trouble than it's worth ] I personally don't have to sell them [ they ain't mine ] I'll tell my mate they are replicas [ he might get realistic on $$$] and someone could get a bargain! or I'll buy them myself for the trailer I'm building

I wouldn't know if they are "Reps" or not [ and I don't care ] I just want them out of my Garage The Tires are Between $80 - $ 100 ea [ used ] so that puts the rims at between $550 - $630 for the set If they are too steep for you don't buy them [ I didn't need your comments here ]. I'll pass on any offers for anyone serious about buying them I thought I'd offer them to this forum before 'Trade-me' gets them

Why take the head off? Compressed Air will hold the valves closed [ make sure it's BDC though ] Braze an Air Hose fitting [ approx $5.00 ] to an old sparkplug [ with the porcelain smashed out**] You can Buy a cheap compressor at "Supercheap" for less than the cost of a BMW head gasket & head bolts [** I've just stumbled on a legitimate use for Gus's Ball Peen Toolkit ]

Dead or Alive? [ or some sort of innebriated state of suspended animation ? ] Hey Will, if you are out there in Bimmerland ? Me and Jim [ Beam ] are gonna find ya!

Hey, dont even think about driving it until you've found the problem. [ You are better off,to park it up for 1-2 days, instead of 1-2 months with a "heat siezed engine" ] If you need to use it, block off [ bypass the heater ] and remember you've got to bleed the air from the cooling system. the 5 series guys can help you here

She's undone [ no breakages ] I had too use a pipe over the strong bar. "no hammers involved" Thanks all

Admit it Gus, you only like jappa's because you can tune 'em with your "Ball Peen" Dyno Hey Ollie!, I got a bit of a moral dillema here [ apart from the fact I have no morals ] When I get sh*tfaced, I tend to slurr these monosyllable grunts that sound like I am speaking TXT. Wud tht gt me bnnd frm bmmrsprt frm's ? So If you cant speak or read TXT, you probably wonder what the hell I'm saying [ that is if it is the same langwidge, or lnguge or lingo or language! whatever?]

I'm removing the bolt on front of the crankshaft on a M50B28, so I can take the front timing cover off. does anybody know if this bolt is L/H or R/H thread. It appears to be very tight [ I don't want to use Gus's special "Ball peen torque wrench" if possible ] Thanks Guys

Back in the late 70's an American called Gene Beaver bought a "Funny Car" to NZ called the LA Hooker , This could do 0-60mph [ 100kph ] in 2-1/2 times its own wheelbase. The ET was 6.60 secs for the 1/4 mile So those figures are quite achievable now

Hey "Bald Eagle" that M3 is serious piece of freight, Welcome on board an have some fun! People's maturity and opinions may vary. You are welcome to come cruizin' with me if you are ever in Tauranga. If it is any consolation, An E36 has the same offset and stud pattern as a Commodore just in case you get the urge to do 'burn-outs' [ on the skid pad mind you ] I have the utmost respect for members of the constabulary and the services they do for the community [ my ex-wife ran off with a police officer, so I owe him a beer one day Haha! ] seriously though, I've seen some real idiot things happen with cars over the years [ and I'm gettin' pretty old ] we all could do with a balanced opinion now and then, so please keep contributing Enjoy your Beemers

Well Glen , I found this attachment for your humour. Some of the young'uns wont know who the paedophile is On the subject of "pink stickers" , this is a Car enthusiats forum [ I assume most of us are more passionate about our vehicles than the average "Joe Public" ] So if you drive an illegally modified car and get caught, be prepared to pay the price for your actions. I don't think crying about the police should justify a thread on this forum. Believe me a "Bimmersport" sticker on my car attacts attention. My Car is Legal, so I wear the sticker as a Badge of honour

Also try and get a Copy of the July 1997 issue of New Zealand Classic Car Magazine! There is an article in there " Fuelstar vs AA "

He's got you covered here to mate! Look what I found in his feedbacks [ Gus, I'd like to see you "mountain biking" with this animal ] http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=141292108

That's why Prostitutes make more than drug dealers! They can wash their 'Crack' and sell it again Hahahahahaha!

Hey Miles, I hope it's not to late You can download a E36 Bentley manual free [ pdf ] http://hosting.data.bg/bmw/BMW/E-Books/E36...rviceManual.pdf 756 pages long

You are heading in the right direction here US M3 headers are the same as South African 328 headers so dont buy them [ if you inherit them , like I did, then use them ] Basically do the bolt ons before you decide which way to go [ easy to undo ] I personally are considering Boring and Stroking a M50B25 engine out to 3.2 litre for my E36 [ I'm gonna leave , exhausts, diff , flywheel, intake all standard ] I am wanting a torquey "old boat" for a "Boulevard Bandit"
-
Hahahaha! Well as they say "Don't be fooled by imitations" [ when you can be fooled by real bullshit ] check this out: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SAVE-GAS-FU...1QQcmdZViewItem put one of these on the intake , and your incredible device on the exhaust and you'll save up to 60% in gas mileage [ because the car will be so strangled, it will only do 40kmh, hence the fuel saving ]

Hey it was a long time ago, It could've been "wheels magazine" or an Aussie AA publication. I read it at the "MacLaren trust HQ years ago.[ then in Pakuranga ]Along with this, all these oil additives were also discussed. At the Time, the people involved were also developing a new engine for CCED [ continuous cycle engine developments ] so they were involved in a lot af controlled tests and reports using Auckland University's Facilities. Their conclusion was, you can only get so much energy out of a BTU, All they did was re-invent the crankshaft. If you could build a 100% thermally eficient engine to replace a modern 25mpg engine [ approx 30% efficient ] you have the potential to get 83mpg [ so all these conspiracy theories about a 200mpg carburettor, or cars running on water are just folklore ] nb:I said running on water not hydrogen If anyone desires they should do a controlled test back to back [ on a real dyno ] In the mean time, I'll develop my turbonator wing [ they spin at 60,000rpm as claimed] haha!
-
Hey guy's I doing some R & D on a new Hi-tech "eagle" I'm thinking of bolting a row of "turbonaters" along the top of a rear spoiler. Aparently there are good gains to be made in aerodynamics [ that why F1 teams use wind tunnels ] Is there anyone out there that is interested in Funding a development programme? I'll need a few $$$ for designing [ on the back of a coaster over a few bourbons ] Huge potential market [ "heaps of suckers" ]
-
The was an article in the AA magazine about them [ approx ten years ago ] when fuelstar was all the rage. I know that letters were fired back and forth from the distributers of fuelstar at the time Hey try consumer magazine, see if they have done something

Now we are talking! The beauty of the BMW Donk, is that it's internally balanced [ the flywheel assembly can be be neutrally balanced afterwards ] The engine's an air pump, you've got to increase revs to get results [ or increase capacity ] about 7 years ago when I was playing with a MK1 cortina, I bought a cheap crossflow race engine from a friend [ dyno'd at 138 hp ] He replaced the engine with one that dyno'd at 165hp [ at a higher rpm ] Our cars were within 10kg of each other, but my car consistantly beat him everytime The real truth! both cars had the same diff an gearbox ratios, his new "trick" engine made less hp than mine at the same rev range If he had geared the car down, [ to turn the engine harder ] He would have blown my doors off every time When we compared Dyno sheets it was obvious With engine mods " you giveth and you taketh away" You increase V/E at the top end but you lose air velocity at the bottom [ M50B25 intake is a good example ] That is why BMW started using Vanos [ to widen the rev range and use a shorter cam][ short cams also help emissions]

In 1969 Penske Racing [ Mark Donahue driving ] Ran a Camaro in the US Transam Series. They used a fuel cell full of lead pellets [ shot gun pellets ] In fact they had a huge gravity fed fuel silo and aircraft dry-break system, so they could dump the sh*t in when doing a 'splash-n-dash" at the end of the race At least their cars were legal when they weighed them at the end of the race [ it wasn't cheatin', it was innovation ] Hey Glen! Don't rely on racers as a benchmark. Ever heard of the "chrome eagle" syndrome [ If I bolted a chrome eagle to the hood of my car and started winning, I gaurantee some racers would copy me the following week ] Weekend racers are notoriously bad for spending $$$$ on 'trick' parts [ because the need them,Haha! ]
