  1. Firstly the Media [and US for reading their stupid papers] need a good kick up the arse for buying into this sensationalist crap. I personally know a witness that was parked less than 2 metres from the point of impact, he spent 7 hours with the police while they tried to get a distorted view of what happened [so they can lay charges]. I read this bullshit this morning about how the victim was the starter of the 'drag-race' ,yet he got hit at 160kph [at the start line????] Maybe I should get a VR4 This maybe a tragic event and people are grieving, but there was no act of malice here [no intent], now a 16 year old is facing manslaughter charges [which will now create another victim, and destroy another life] Whats the answer? who knows? everyone talks about organised events etc, but these always get out of reach of these youngsters [$$$$] I personally believe in LOWERING the driving age ,and RAISING the age of car ownership to say 18-19 years, but make the car owner 100% liable for the actions of the driver [if a 15year old gets caught speeding in dads car,dad gets the fine & demerit points]I won't take long for parents to control the use of their cars. Also a youngster can get 3-4 years of experience before,he/she can buy a car. Imagine the opposite [raising licensing to 18years], a youngster is allowed to leave school at 15years ,get a couple of years of saving $$$$ behind them ,to go and buy a Turbo'd missile, before they even get behind the wheel [crazy] THE PROBLEM IS FREEDOM, ADOLESENCE,COMBINED WITH IRRESPONSIBILITY

    What to do?

Hey Mate! Do your homework first. I just checked out "hongkongkiwi's" profile. [A girl called Vivienne from Chch] if you searched her 400 odd feedbacks there could be a contact number somewhere. I saw your feedback listed, I would request that Trade-me remove these comments on the grounds that they are defamatory! While you are at it, point out to trade-me,where in her feedbacks [on page 4 of her feedbacks, auction #85052778,client "glayford"] she is trying to bypass trade-me and wholesale 50 items to a trade-me client! Trade-me will disclose all client details to you[upon request],if there is a legal dispute requiring legal action [if you get any contact details, pm me, and I'll show you a 'very efficient' too get them to co-operate] Good luck
  3. A toss-up between Lewis Hamilton or Tiger Woods? [Nah! you only need one ball to play golf] I think this title should go to OJ Simpson, like Superman he sort after truth, justice,[the American way?]
  4. Can't be that Great, I've never heard of him I always thought R Kelly was that cheating prick that 'took-out' Lowndes to win the V8 supercar championship
  5. These Fine Little Gems that came from Pomgolia and Oz had inline or remote boosters Hillman Hunter, Mark 3 Zephyr, AP5 Valiant [valley-ant] The Hillman Hunter PBR unit is still available new and is relatively cheap If you have a vacuum problem [cams etc] use an alternator of a diesel with the vacuum pump on the back [i've seen this used on 'Dirt Saloons']
  6. 10 thou [thats a fine imperial measurement], You might need the services of your Eight Inch Cresent instead of your Ballpeen Hammer
  7. Happy Birthday Sic*
  8. Get hold of Tony Roberts 09 5207841 or 021 1332895 He'll help ya Don't bother with a Day License the Clubsport cost little more You'll need to be a MANZ affiliated club member For a Race license you'll need to do a colour blind test [not eyesight tho, must have something to do with racers and officials arguing about flags] Lucky for you they don't do a sanity test [gus] [you're only jealous because the voices only talk to me! haha!]
  9. Hey Rog ,given your requirements I would have bought a Jap car as well. Bimmersport is an enthusiasts community [you don't need to own a BMW to be an enthusiast] I myself have just acquired a Nissan 3 weeks ago [a cheap reliable race-car] one thing I have learned about opinions, It's cheaper to spend someone elses money [wait till they have to put their money where their mouth is] I look forward to you staying on as a bimmersport member [your input is appreciated] Cheers Kerry
  10. Hey! Our 95 & especially 98 is good fuel, the only thing missing from it is tetra-ethyl lead used to stop valve seat reccession on old soft cast iron cylinder heads. the old 96 super they had years ago was good for 9-1/2 to 10:1 compression max [petrochemistry is a real science these days]
  11. The M50 engine has 11:1 compression ratio so it needs te highest octane it can get. the M50 also has a knock-sensor which retards the ignition to prevent detonation when too low octane is used. When the engine has retarded ignition the engine loses torque, so you need too use more throttle to compensate [less economy] Low octane with a knock-sensor wont do any mechanical damage, but you'll be using the engine outside what it was designed for for an extensive period of time

    Nice doggy....

Hahahahahaha! He's got a pretty acurate Tape measure, it even does a decimal point [152.4mm on yesterdays V8-M5 thread]

    Nice doggy....

You wouldn't want that bugger to try humping your leg [ Gus ]
  14. Wanna swap it for a mint condition " Milli Vanilli " Casette [Cd's wern't around then] It's a good deal mate, things usually increase in value when the artist is dead [They were dead when they mimed on stage]

    Chevy M5

Yeah, I suppose metrics make it sound bigger. At least it aint 300mm 'cause then it would be a foot!
  16. If your engine has been cooked, chuck a used one at your car & keep driving it. If you need a used one, there is a wrecker in TGA with a M50B25 for sale

    Chevy M5

Looks like I don't need to convince anyone to do this swap [it's now been done],Especially to all you die-hard BMW fanatics that use imperial measurements [not mentioning any names W*ll ,haha!] Blown?? There might be a rod out the side, or maybe they're referring to a head gasket. The cow horns have to stay tho, I think they are used to deflect aerodynamic drag caused by the "bug-catcher",or maybe they are just there to impress the babes [symbol of virility hahahaha!]
  18. I was thinking about bolting a Holley carb and Mallory twin-point distributor onto my "3 Series 170 Cubic inch" E36 coupe, But the Damm thing aint got anywhere for the Dizzy to go! A 9 inch with 4 link rear, that requires those coil spring thingys [whats wrong with leaf spring and tramp bars] Sh*t it sounds like I spend waay tooo long on the Ford Mountain at Puke' yesterday, arguing with some Holden F**kwit about how racing has never been the same since 'Brocky' stopped racing Fords [it was an interesting conversation Hahaha!]
  19. Hahahaha! It's good to see a diehard BMW man using imperial measurements! add to that Horsepower figures and 15 17 0r 20 inch rims sh*t it won't long before I've talked all you guys into swapping a "350 cubic inch V8 and 4 speed" into your cars
  20. Not only does the U joint have to be phased back-to-back so the velocity at each end is constant, the angles of the driveshaft at each end also have to cancel each other out: The Engine/gearbox centerline has to be parrallel to the pinion [under load]. on old leaf spring cars the diff was angled down about 2degrees to counteract spring wrap-up. The inclining of the drivetrain is the most common mistake in engine/gearbox swaps What you mentioned above sounds more like a slight misallignment than a balance problem [it goes away at higher speeds] Try shimming 'up' the rear of the gearbox or 'down' the rear crossmember to see if this helps. If you never had this vibration before, and are still using the old rear D/shaft ,then the problem is in front of the hanger [incidentally both halves of the drive shaft should be balanced separately]
  21. All the race timing is based around Aussie Television times, thats why the support racing is strung out [they cant afford to delay the start time while a support race is still being run] Thats why the public have to put up with bullshit motorcycle 'stoppees' & the 'nz airforce' doing barrel rolls [At least up on the hill we provided our own entertainment between races]
  22. I'll be there [paying my respect to the V8 gods], Join us up on FORD Mountain with all the scumbags [good fun, getting whiplashed eyeballs checking out Cars & Babes thru my blurry intoxicated vision]] TXT 027 4726071 Cheers Kerry
  23. Kevin at Kelfords can Grind a Cam for any spec you wan't [they do contract work for Cosworth]their quality is good The problem is usually the Customer isn't honest with themselves [they usually want the fattest cam they can get] If you tell them of your wants, they'll get it right
  24. It's natural evolvement mate! All cars should end up in some sort of competition [including demolition derby's]before they go to the great rust pile in the sky "Anyone can restore a classic,But it takes a real man to cut one up and Race it!"
